Over on Comicvine the following organised petition is taking place. I feel any true comic fan, who would like to see a Wonder Woman or Flash movie, and more done with DC characters outside of Batman and Superman will support our cause.

For Injustice Gods Among Us: Game Promotion, they´re holding a tournament of the best DC fighters.

I´m trying to get a large number of comic book fans to vote for Wonder Woman and Flash in the next round to show their popularity. In addition to voting for them in their next battles against Batman and Joker respectively, I am trying to organize a tweeting campaign on their message board, demanding more is done with DC characters outside Batman and Superman.

I´d like to make clear, I love Batman and Superman and have a huge collection of comics from both characters. This isn´t about our favorites or who we think would actually win.

This campaign is about showing us comic book and comic book movie fans support for characters other than Superman and Batman. By tweeting and voting for them, we can show they´re popular enough to hold their own movies, their own graphic novels, animated series or animated features. Wonder Woman especially needs our support, as the official policy of DC is now not to put out anymore animated films with female leads, even though Wonder Woman is now there fourth biggest selling title, and one of the most critically acclaimed features.

I´m pissed off with all DC´s excuses about characters not being relatable, or women can´t be leads in films, and all the other hog wash they use to jive the fans and stay in their insulated little comfort zone of Batman. For Batman fans as well, which includes myself, Rebooting Batman every five years is not going to do great things for the character I can assure you. It will get stale eventually. So why not use some of their other great characters. At the moment on Comicvine we are getting together to organise a time where we will all tweet together on the Injustice Gods Among Us message board, so as to flood the message board with requests from CBM fans - demanding things such as:

"We want a Batman Begins, Man Of Steel like Wonder Woman film"

"We want a Rucka written Earth One Wonder Woman Graphic Novel"

"We want a Wonder Woman/Flash Solo Movie, Animated Series, Graphic Novels Please."

"We want less Superman/Batman Animated Features, More Wonder Woman/Flash/Birds Of Prey etc Please"

If we can try and tweet and share this with people who want DC to get off their ass and do stuff for the rest of their great characters, Wonder Woman and Flash being the first, we should try. It may not be much, but it´s more affective than bitching all the time on this and other sites, having our wishes fall on deaf ears.

Please support the cause, it´s a good one.

Batman and Wonder Woman are next. It is a tall order to get her to win, so if you support this idea please let me know from replies, so we can organise a unified action. Also please share this with people you know agree. If you let me know how many people you´ve got to vote we can at least give Wonder Woman and Flash a fighting chance.

Come on man, quit trolling. Take a step or two back and you'll see that it's just coming across as a child whining to his mother because McDonald's didn't have the Happy Meal toy he wanted in stock.

@tainted87 - I don´t think I´m trolling. I´m not trying to piss people off, if you don´t want to support thats fine.

Levitikuz - I´m a huge MMH fan. I like John Stewart and Cyborg as well. I would certainly have added them, if they were playable characters. However my main concern is DC not wanting to put any films or animation out with female leads, because WW didn´t sell fast enough, even though its the fourth highest selling title of DC and one of the most critically acclaimed. Wonder Woman Earth One is also in question as to whether it will be released. So I´m trying to get people behind her to show she is a popular character still. As for Flash, again, he another great character of DC that is being ignored so they can stay in their comfort zone. As I said this is not to piss people off. I truly love these characters, I think a successful Wonder Woman film is the gateway to have more diversified representations of superheroes, and also to get some of our most beloved characters the dues they deserve. Thanks for your replies.

I also think if DC fans don´t act soon, some of DCs most cherished characters will be left so far behind that in time they will be forgotten. Unfortunately this cooporate megalith is the custodian of modern mythology - mythologies that give meaning to our childhoods and inspire us as adults. I really believe it is important for our voices to be heard.

What about GL? He's my favorite DC character behind Superman, his movie was a joke...

I hope to see more then just Flash & Wonder Woman In the future. I would really enjoy seeing an Aquaman film. I really hope WB will look at this petition.

As for getting more people behind it I would say write to yjfanvids.tumblr.com they are doing a lot to try and get Young Justice & Green Lantern another season. I mean a lot. So if you get them to help that could help to get Wonder Woman & Flash movies.

Like the idea but the only problems I have is that you list to many demands for such an already difficult project. Petitioning for successful movie is enough. If they can do that right then that will generate an audience and they will be forced to expand on these properties.

Keep in mind too ppl that WB controls DC and they have other movies to work on and worry about.

You're not pissing anyone off, and I apologize for getting a little short earlier there. I just look at petitions as if I were whatever studios they are intended for. Its not like I dont want to see WW or Flash, I just dont get how telling a studio that they should put out those characters....because you want it.... how is that really proactive?

Hulk Out: True, I wanted to get alot more people on board. I really tried. I´ve got over 200 now, but I wanted alot more. The demands varied, because they were not just mine. It was more about DC fans collectively speaking out.

Tainted and Soto: I´ve been a life long comic fan, I´m also someone who has been involved in many other charitable organisations and rights campaigns. Half the reason I pursue all of this, is the example Superheroes set for me when I was young. I believe stories have a great power, it is why one of my main hobbies is writing. Not only are they therapeutic but they have the power to change people and society, all be it gradually. That is why I believe in Wonder Woman and the power of her story, it is a great one, a message of hope and empowerment for those who all to often are represented as weak. As a black guy, Wonder Woman speaks to me in that way. I guess albeit quite stupid because she´s fictional, I feel like she´s fought for me so many times and just this once I´m trying to fight for her. I know its silly right?

I´d like to finish by saying, if Batman and Superman were treated as badly by DC I would do the same. Mythology is a key part of the human psyche allowing us to develop, expand and evolve as a society, so I think these stories aren´t just like not getting the toy you want from McDonalds, they mean alot more than that. Anyway sorry for bothering you with my idea.

Funny you say that Soto, I actually am writing a WW script, its pretty damn good. I´m also working on the story for MartianMan Hunter. I´m teaming up with an artist to make it into a graphic novel. You´re right about a rushed movie; I don´t want that, but anyway I appreciate your feedback.

Writing is VERY therapeutic, its something I do often. I promised at least a month and a half ago that my next article would be completely dedicated to MM, and not even half the time I've spent on it is the writing portion. I really do visualize a Martian Manhunter story, and amateur illustrations will be included.

I think its cool that you're doing something even bigger.
(the McD comparison comes from me working there, getting that on a daily basis...)

Anyway, good luck with your petition!
