WB/DC has in habit to cast really unexpected actors in their superhero roles, so probably lots of unknown actors will be casted here. The one that I see is most of the casting are unknowns, but really good actors and actresses. But anyway, I’m trying to do a much original fan-cast this time around, and since most of the members of the Justice League are already cast, I’ve left to cast anyone else.
I have few multiple choices for some of the characters. I’m not trying to do a type of fan-cast that where I try to put all the choices that people will like, I’m trying to go and do what WB does, cast very talented actors. I don’t think that you should cast someone just because he looks like the character in the comics. Appearances can be changed, hair can be dyed to any color and with some Hollywood magic, any actor can have a 6-pack and Popeye arms.
Justice League movies:
Why Hal Jordan?
I believe that WB are going to use Hal Jordan and not John Stewart in their movies, because it seems their basing many things in their movies on the New 52. Plus, this is the same reason they are using Barry Allen as the Flash, they are choosing the original characters. Maybe after they do 3 Green Lantern movies they can others like John Stewart and Kyle Rayner.
Green Lantern (Hal Jordan) - Sam Claflin
I really liked him in Hunger Games and he seems to be a pretty good actor. Plus he has the charisma and the looks that Hal Jordan has, and he is going to be really hot after the Hunger Games movies, so casting someone like him will help to push the character, and make people forget about that 2011 movie.
Green Lantern (Hal Jordan) - Garrett Hedlund
I still think that Garrett Hedlund is a good actor. Tron Legacy maybe killed his career, but he was pretty good in “Inside Llewyn Davis”. And just like Sam Claflin, he has the charisma and the looks.
Shazam - Dwayne Johnson
Yes, I know that the Rock is going to be Black Adam. But something tells me that WB didn’t cast one of the hottest stars today just to play the villain in a movie that will be released in 2019, that just doesn’t make any sense. I have a theory that the Rock will be playing both Adam and Shazam. This maybe just me, but I just have this feeling. I mean who wouldn’t want to see the Rock standing next to Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman and the rest of the Justice League? Either he will play both Shazam and Adam, or maybe WB is going to do something stupid like change the character or something like that. Mark my words, Comic-Con 2015, the Rock will be announced as Shazam too.
But since nothing has been announced yet, here are 3 other actors that might be good choices for Shazam. Funny thing is all 3 of them have blond hair, but like I said above, actors change their hair color all the time.
The one thing is that the actor that will be playing Shazam doesn’t have to be too famous, but going against the Rock won’t be an easy job.
Shazam - Charlie Hunnam
He maybe didn’t really shine in Pacific Rim, but I’m a big Sons of Anarchy fan, and I would love to see Charlie as a superhero. He might be also great as the movie version of Green Arrow.
Shazam - Jai Courtney
He appeared in some really bad movies, but I think that Jai Courtney is a solid actor. Maybe after the Terminator he will be able to turn his career around.
Shazam - Alexander Ludwig
You might know him from “Vikings”. To be honest I didn’t casted him for his acting chops, I don’t say he is a bad actor, he is ok on Vikings. The truth is that I casted him because the kid is a beast. Saw few photos of him (that was a gay thing to say…), and the kid is massive. So, I might be a hypocrite here, because in the beginning of this fan-casting I said that I’m casting actors for their acting abilities and not for their looks, so I apologizing right here. But this why he is my 4
th choice for Shazam, and not the first.
All the rumors and my hopes say that Brainiac will be the main villain of the first Justice League. Here are 2 choices for one of the best villains in DC comics:
Brainiac - Matthew Goode
He did a great work in Watchmen as Ozymandias, and he is a great actor overall, and he will do great as Brainiac.
Brainiac - Cillian Murphy
I know that he was Scarecrow, but that was ages ago. I can really see him as Brainiac.
Darkseid - Ron Perlman
I know that many will say that Michael Ironside should play Darkseid, but I want someone else. Since Ron Perlman will never get to play Hellboy again, I want him to be Darkseid. It won’t be just a voice over by him, WB can use performance capture, and that will be very scary and menacing Darkseid.
I hope that we will also see Vandal Savage, he doesn’t have to be in the first Justice League movie, but I hope that in some point we will see him. Funny thing is that all my 3 choices for Vandal Savage will be also great choices for Doctor Strange.
Vandal Savage - Luke Evans
It will be cool to see Luke Evans in a DC movie, and he will be great as Vandal Savage.
Vandal Savage - Toby Stephens
Toby Stephens is really great on “Black Sails”, paint his hair black, and he is the man for the job.
Vandal Savage - Pedro Pascal
Loved him on Game of Thrones, and it will be interesting to see him as Vandal Savage.
Other movies:
Catwoman - Emily Blunt
After “Edge of Tomorrow”, she proved that she can play a true bad-ass. I still hope that WB will announce that Emily is the one that actually plays Wonder Woman. But she will be an amazing and super-sexy Catwoman.
James Gordon - Bryan Cranston
Yes, I know, this is an easy choice.
James Gordon - Denzel Washington
This will be a very cool thing to see. Denzel Washington in a Batman movie!
Vicki Vale - Jessica Chastain
She is a really beautiful and super talented actress.
The Joker - Michael Pitt
If you watched his stunning performance in “Hannibal”, then you know what I’m talking about.
The Joker - Jack Huston
He is my 2
nd choice for Joker, I really can’t choose between him and Pitt.
Wonder Woman movies:
Here are some cast for few characters in the Wonder Woman movies.
Hippolyta - Charlize Theron
Having Charlize Theron in any movie is always a good thing, plus she is hot!!!
Hippolyta - Moran Atias
She is on FX’s Tyrant, the show isn’t very good, but she is pretty good there.
Ares - Richard Armitage
He was in the First Avengers in a minor role, and he is a really good actor, and I would love to see him in a DC movie.
Zeus - Ian McShane
Ian McShane can be the Odin/Anthony Hopkins of the DCCU. He is an incredible actor and I just want him play some role in the DC movies.
Steve Trevor - Nikolaj Coster-Waldau
I don’t really want to see Steve Trevor in the movie. I personally hope that Wonder Woman and Ares will have a love-hate relationship. The only reason I did this cast-casting is because if they will have Steve Trevor, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau will be my choice.
Artemis - Abbie Cornish
She will be perfect as Artemis.
The Flash movies:
Iris West - Nathalie Emmanuel
I know that Iris is a red-head in the comics, so maybe someone else should be in the role, but I really like Nathalie Emmanuel, and I don’t think that Iris West MUST be a read-head.
Gorilla Grodd - John Noble
Will be cool to hear a big scary ape speaking in John Noble’s voice. Maybe they can use some of Planet of the Apes magic.
Professor Zoom - Ben Whishaw
I always have trouble with the reverse Flash thing, never understood which is which. But Ben Whishaw would be cool as Zoom, since he kind of resembles Ezra Miller, in a weird way.
Aquaman movies:
Mera - Gemma Arterton
I really, honestly in-love with this girl, and she will be great as Mera.
Ocean Master - Toby Kebbell
For a long time he was a very underrated actor, and now he finally gets some recognition for his work, and he will be awesome as Ocean Master.
I totally forget that he is playing Doctor Doom!
Ocean Master - Wes Bentley
Black Manta - Andre Holland
I know that must people would cast Chiwetel Ejiofor in this role, but I prefer seeing him on Oscar type of movies. Andre Holland is doing a great job on “The Knick”, and he will be cool as Black Manta.
Nuidis Vulko - Brendan Gleeson
It never hurts adding talent to a movie, and having Brendan Gleeson is a movie always helps.
Green Lantern movies:
Sinestro - Idris Elba
I know that must people would cast Idris as John Stewart, but I don’t want him as the good guy, I want to see Idris go to the dark side the play Sinestro
. I think it will be very interesting to see him play the villain.
Sinestro - Rufus Sewell
If not Idris, I think Rufus Sewell could do a good job.
Carol Ferris - Odette Annable
I think Odette Annable could be a great Carol, and if they will make her Star Sapphire in some point she will look real good.
Suicide Squad Movies:
Some of the charectrs here are based on the rumors, others are on the Assault on Arkham movie.
Deathstroke - Tom Hardy
He was Bane, but since we didn’t really see his face, I don’t think people will be too confused. Plus, this is Tom Hardy!
Deadshot - Jon Bernthal
I can really see him in the role.
Harley Quinn - Margot Robbie
If the rumors are true, this will be amazing.
Amanda Waller - Taraji P. Henson
I know that many people want to see “fat” Amanda Waller, but I think that WB will go with the New 52 version.
Captain Boomerang/Harkness - Walton Goggins
I really don’t care who Walton Goggins will be playing, as long as he will be there.
Vixen - Danai Gurira
Multiplex - Theo Rossi
King Shark - Rory McCann
I know that this is a little waste of Kevin Durand, but maybe the character will be mostly CGI. I would love to see Kevin Durand as Hawkman in some point.
Killer Frost - Evan Rachel Wood
