About CROSSOVER BATTLES:
These are a series of weekly articles and discussions on who would win in a fight between different comic book characters from different companies. Whichever character has the most supporters wins. The results are posted in the following CB article, along with the next fight. A new CB is posted in the middle of every week.
LAST WEEK'S RESULTS:
Lobo (DC Universe) VS Ghost Rider (Marvel Knights)
Winner: Ghost Rider!
THIS WEEK'S EVENT:
Deathstroke
First Appearance: New Teen Titans #2 (1980)
Real Name: Slade Wilson
Enemy Of: The general DC Universe
Team: DC Universe
Bio:
Deathstroke is literally the best assassin in the mainstream DC Universe. Slade Wilson lied about his age and joined the United States military at an early age. As a soldier, he became part of a program and was given an enhancing serum that gave him metahuman abilities such as enhanced senses, strength, speed, intelligence and an increased healing factor. Wilson later left the military. As he got older, he became a killer for hire. Having fought the likes of Batman, Superman, Lobo, Green Arrow, Black Canary, the Teen Titans, the Justice League and many, many others, Deathstroke is a name that demands great fear in the DCU. Other than the abilities previously listed, Deathstroke is a master marksman, showing the ability to even kill a moving Horsefly with a paperclip (This was in the New 52 graphic novel Deathstroke Vol. 1, by the way). He is a master schemer and tactician, a master of a LOT of different weapons, and a master of many different types of weapontry.
Deadpool
First Appearance: New Mutants #98 (1991)
Real Name: Wade Wilson
Status: Anti-hero
Team: Marvel Knights
Bio:
Initially a Marvel parody of Deathstroke, Deadpool has since rose in popularity. Much of Wade Wilson's past is unknown. However, we do know he had cancer before becoming part of the Weapon X program. There he gained his powers. Since then, he has became the anti-hero Deadpool. Deadpool has switched alliances between heroes and villains. He has been a killer for hire, as well as a member of such teams as the X-Force, Thunderbolts strike team, SHIELD, and even a future version of the X-Men. Deadpool is often associated with X-Men comics and grittier characters (other than himself) such as Punisher, Daredevil, Wolverine, Elektra, Red Hulk, ETC. Deadpool has Wolverine's healing factor, and can easily regenerate a loss limb such as an arm or head. He also knows multiple forms of martial arts, is a superb assassin/ mercenary, expert swordsman and marksman, and is really good at distracting people. He is also known to use teleportation devices. Deadpool isn't really a schemer or tactician. In fact, he is often portrayed as an idiot who won't shut up. Despite this, Deadpool is perfectly aware he is in a comic book and is known to break the fourth wall. He suffers from many mental disorders, which is an advantage in the sense that he is completely unpredictable and has a chaotic fighting style. Oh, and one more thing: he loves chimichangas.
