Ok this is my idea to how to reboot Spider-Man. Look at it!
MARC WEBB's SPIDER-MAN
This is being rebooted and Andrew Garfield played the title role. How make a reboot of a movie comes out 10 years ago and make it good? Simple, change all the things.
Sam Raimi's Spider-Man was a great family movie about a great superhero. Drama, action, comedy: all good. But now it's time to go away.
There are a few hints to make a good movie:
- ORIGINS: don't show it. Make an opening title with the spider's bite and Peter who learns powers. Maybe show also Uncle Ben's death in opening title. It's better.
- COLLEGE: Peter goes to college. And it's good.
- SPIDER-MAN: Peter is already Spider-Man when the movie starts but we learn that he's only a "misteryous masked hero" for the people. Nobody knows his name, the papers call it "Spider-Man". And Peter thinks is a cool name, by the way.
- LOVE INTEREST: Spider-Man is also love story. Peter is in love for Mary Jane Watson, the most beautiful girl in the college...But she's not looking him. She's too high for him. Gwen Stacy is a Peter's best friend. Gwen is in love for Peter but...Well, Peter loves MJ...
- FRIENDS AND...FOES?: Harry Osborn is Peter's best friend. He's Norman Osborn's son. He loves Liz Allan, Flash Thompson's friend. Yes, Flash Thompson. What's a college's story without bullies? Flash Thompson and Kong's are the worst enemies of Peter Parker. But also the best fans of Spider-Man! Funny.
- HOME, SWEET HOME: Aunt May must have a big role in this one. Aunt May has a friend in the movie: Anna Watson, Mary Jane's aunt.
- DAILY BUGLE: Peter starts to work in Daily Bugle making Spider-Man's photos. J. J. Jameson, Betty Brant and Robbie Robertson appears. Jameson hates Spidey, off course.
And now main plot.
We'll see from start Peter in the college when he thinks Mary Jane, studies with Harry and Gwen, when he it's beat by Flash and Kong and when he's Spidey and "saves the day". But a story without a villain...?
VILLAIN(S): Max Dillon is an engineering who have an accident and become "Electro". When police found his body, he accidentally killed they. Police (capitanated by George Stacy) starts to seek him. One night "Electro" try to rob a supermarket but Spidey defeats him. Police arrives and arrested him.
In prison he meet a mad old man, Adrien Toomes, who - with the help of "someone" (Norman Osborn) - has built two pair of wings, because he's a "Vulture". Dillon is imprisoned in a special cell but Toomes found every day the way to talk to him. The two makes a deal: Adrian Toomes help Max Dillon to escape his special cell, together they run away from prison and Dillon must help Toomes to rob banks; Toomes will help Dillon to found Spidey and kill him.
In an incredible scene in the middle of the movie, Electro hurt hard Spidey. Peter is in hospital but Vulture seek him and get him away. I think it's a powerful plot. Simple, yeah, but very different from the last three Spider-Man. We seen revenge, blood (a little bit), a villain (Electro) very bad and ready to all for kill Spidey.
THE END:
In the movie Anna Watson introduce Mary Jane to Peter (with famous line "Face it tiger...You just hit the jackpot!") and both goes to a college's party. Max Dillon has discovered the real Spidey's identity and seek him at party. Peter run away and discovered Aunt May was hurt by Electro. Peter fights Vulture and defeats him (but Vulture said he doesn't want to kill him, he only help Electro by promise) and police arrest him. Peter fights in the end Electro but Electro dies.
HAPPY ENDING (?):
Aunt May's recover. Daily Bugle said "Spider-Man is a villain". MJ said to Peter she wants to be a friend. Gwen kiss Peter but Peter said only somethin' like "Ehm...Wow" and Gwen run away.
SUB-PLOT:
I think the rule number one for a good flick is introduce some future villains, some future sub-plots and easter eggs. I think at:
MILES WARREN: as a Peter's teacher;
CURT CONNORS: Peter's family bestfriend (Yes, i know, i change this but hey it works!).If there are time introduce also his wife and son;
EDDIE BROCK JR.: Daily Bugle's journalist, became a Peter's friend;
NORMAN OSBORN: The responsable of the spider who bites Peter. From the bite Norman has seek Peter but not very well. Wants to know what has happened to him.
--- I think it works, you know. For a reboot.
And Sony must thinks to high. For the second one make Lizard the villain. Connors became Lizard and Spidey try to stop him. Daily Bugle's Jameson calls Kraven the Hunter to stop the Lizard but Kraven try also to kill Spider-Man. So works in that way: Lizard wants to kill everyone but Spidey wants to stop him and not kill him; Kraven wants to kill Lizard and Spidey; Spidey must defeat Kraven.
Make Gwen Peter's girlfriend at the end of the movie. Harry become Liz's boyfriend. Norman found a formula that can transform him into a superhuman in the end.
The third one: Norman become Green Goblin. And yes, "Gwen's death" in the end.
AND NOW CAST!
Ok, Garfield is Spidey and then?
LOVE INTEREST
Emma Stone for Mary Jane and Taylor Momsen for Gwen Stacy!
FRIENDS
ANTON YELCHIN FOR HARRY!
VILLAINS (and future villains)
GARY COLE AS CURT CONNORS and DANIEL DAY LEWIS as NORMAN OSBORN!
For Electro i don't find someone (Ben Foster in my mind is Angel and Bacon is now the X-Men's villain, so i must found someone other) but JOHN MALKOVICH is VULTURE, to me!
Finally Jameson. I found JOHN C. MCGINLEY perfect for this role. Someone said he's better for Norman but well, imho. He's too funny to make a villain, Jameson is better!
