I haven't done one of these for Marvel before as I'm more of a DC man myslef. Daredevil is probably my favourite Marvel character so I was a little dissapointed by the 2003 movie. I have tried to improve upon it without compleltely changing it although all the cast are different.
Daredevil - The Man Without Fear
Director - David Fincher
Hopefully he can give this film the gritty quality of The Girl With the Dragon Tatto and Fight Club
Daredevil/Matt Murdoch – Alex O’Loughlin
He can handle the action and badassery in a way that Daredevil deserves. He can also do emotional depth for where it’s necessary.
Jack Murdoch – Sylvester Stallone
He is the right age to play the father of a young boy and it would be a nice Easter egg to have him as a boxer.
Foggy – Scott Caan
He has great chemistry with O’loughlin as can be seen in Hawaii Five-0. Also his character of Danno is very must how I see Foggy as the disapproving, fed up and slightly comical friend.
Bulls eye – Jason Statham
He would play a believable a gritty assassin which is what I want to see for Bull’s-eye
Mr Fear – Damian Louis
This man can do anything. He could of played any of the roles listed convincingly, even Elektra so why not this one?
Elektra – Rhona Mitra
Has Elektra like looks and has done a lot of action based roles previously.
Stick – Christopher Lee
He has that air about him of being an all knowing mentor. His natural authority makes it believable that Daredevil would listen to him.
King Pin/Fisk – John Goodman
He naturally fits authority figures and can be intimidating when he needs to be. He has the kind of build that a King Pin needs.
Fixer – Andy Garcia
Really embodies the kind of gangster that I want Fixer to be.
Film 1 – The Man Without Fear
Opening scene has Jack Murdoch in a boxing match which he loses and is badly injured. Later in a hospital recovering he tells Matt not to be violent like him, to help people and not to hurt them. Walking home from school Matt sees a blind man about to be hit by a lorry and saves him following his dad’s advice. The lorry swerves throwing its load of toxic waste cans everywhere, Matt is hit becoming blind. He is being bullied at school so Jack sends him to a friend to help (Stick). He teaches him to defend himself and to use sonar hearing every night improving his balance, reactions and co-ordination through various challenges. Jack is killed by Fixer after refusing to through a fight and is gunned down in front of Matt. His witness statement isn’t enough and Fixer goes away free. Matt continues his training but now with a new goal in mind: to take revenge on Fixer and put an end to his gang’s activities. Skip forward a few years and Matt is at college with Larry and Foggy before Matt and Foggy set up a company. Matt becomes a devil like costume inspired by his dads boxing gear to track down Fixer and scares him into confessing but he kills a henchman mistakenly who unknown to him is Larry’s dad. He feels bad about having killed and feels that he has no more purpose so seeks advice from Stick. He tells him that he can do more good in the city and bring justice to more people but to do that he will have to make hard decisions. He decides to fight more crime and is seen jumping from buildings which gets him his name of Daredevil. Foggy sees that Matt has been feeling down so sets him up on a date with an old friend of his called Elektra and they hit it off well. Meanwhile Larry becomes Mr Fear terrorising Hell’s Kitchen in the hope that Daredevil will come to him. The King Pin sends Bull’s-eye and Elektra his assassins after Daredevil who has been causing him problems. Elektra finds him first but after some sparring Matt reveals his identity and she sides with him. She intercepts Bull’s-eye before Matt does and he kills her. Now angry Daredevil attacks Bull’s-eye eventually kicking him off a roof; paralysing him. Rioting has ensued after Mr Fear has spread his fear gas around the city and Daredevil manages to pacify the riots before going after Mr Fear. He finds him and a fight begins, Daredevil uses his mental training to resist the fear gas and defeats Mr Fear. On unmasking him he is upset to see he is Larry but cannot let on that he recognises him. Larry is left for the police. The next day at work Foggy asks him how things are with Elektra who Matt says isn’t going to be around anymore. They talk about the news of last night; Foggy is disapproving of a vigilante but describes him as a The Man Without Fear.
