Life in the clouds, as I am told, is heavenly. The air is cleaner and we always have sunny weather because the rain, snow, etc. all fall below our feets. Things are safe here.
I want more than safe though. I observe the mortals on Earth with envy. They get to go and live life to the fullest, while I, the seventeen year old daughter of Demetria and Elian must stay home bound up in the clouds away from any signs of life. The world looks so... amazing. Unfortunately my father disagrees and frowns upon my infatuation of the world and the mortals that reside in it.
I am Elara. As I said before, I am the daughter of Demetria and Elian, or as the mortals on Earth have nicknamed them, "Mother Nature" and "Father Time." I am destined to take on the title of "Mother Nature" when I have mastered all the abilities that have been passed down to me and when I have learned to understand the balance of the world's entity. I am unsure as to th extent of my powers are. As of now, I can control the fire of my soul and bring it forth in its form, basically I can control fire. I can also move and stop items in mid-air. I believe some call it telekinesis. I can manipulate the winds somewhat I always try to help the little ones who like to fly their kites.
Today I have recieved a message from my parents who wish to converse with me, most likely the start of another arguement as to when I should begin accepting my destiny and start my training under my mother. I feel like I am not ready. I want to go to Earth and experience some joys and fun before I am completely trapped in this desolate world, and of course my father disagrees.
I am a true resemblance of my mother. I have her hazel gold eyes and her long bronze hair. My father tells me I have her beautiful singing voice, like that of an angel, and my father has met some angels. My father is a tall man but very thin as well. He has gray that runs through his dark hair. His eyes are a striking aqua green color. I wish I was blessed with his eyes.
As I arrived at my mother's podium to the world she sat alone, looking observantly over the world. She soon waved her hand over it and rain began to fall over a wild forest fire completely distinguishing it. She then looked up at me and smailed.
"My lovely daughter. I have missed talking with you."
"Where is father?"
"Away. He is displeased with my decision, but it is my decision that I feel will help you to understand the world and your importance with it. Also maybe this decision will help you to mature so that you can become the woman I not only want you to be but the woman I NEED you to be..."
"Decision? So this is a decision you chose to make before even talking with me? What makes you even think I would agree to your decision?"
"Because Elara, I AM YOUR Mother! You will follow my decisions because I am wiser and whether you want to admit it or accept it I do know what is best for you which I feel what is best is you do go to live on Earth."
I stared astonished at her. My one hope and dream was realized, but at the same time I saw the tears that came to my mother's eyes and it killed me.
"That world is not friendly Elara, there are darknesses down there that can kill you and the world. Once you are on Earth you will be mortal..."
"When can I come home?"
"When you are ready to be the," she smiles, "Mother of Nature?"
I laugh, she can never get it right. Then I hug her and we both cry. It was really happening. I was going to Earth.
