Two days have past since Elara's dreams of coming down to Earth had come true. In her traveling she came across a town known as Smallville. The name she discovered while passing a newspaper stand which held the Smallville Sentinel. The town was simple and had a welcoming feel to it. She passed many buildings and a diner with an enchanting smell coming from it. Being almost mortal she seems to feel hunger here more so than in Lorne, but she passed on while eating the fruit she carried. As she passed a couple they nodded and said hello to her and all she could do was smile and blush while covering her mouth which held a mouthful of fruit. Her first interaction with mortals and she was scarfing down food, she was embarrassed by this and disappointed that she seemed to pass on an opportunity to interact with them. She kept on however. She saw men and women of every age and children. Children she had never seen really only heard of them from her mother. She was intrigued by this little town, but she kept on leaving Smallvile and found her self surrounded by the farm lands just as the town was. While traveling down the road she found a meadow, granted it wasn't as amazing as Lorne but still beautiful especially with the sun setting. She hopped the little fence and sat down on the grass and took in the feel of the cool grass and the smell of the flowers. She was home sick now she reached in her pocket and looked at the ring then sighed and placed it back in her pocket. She wasn't ready yet. She laid down and looked up at the sky, and as the stars began to twinkle she drifted off to sleep.
Off a few miles away in the forest that was across the way of the meadow that Elara laid, an act of darkness was taking place. A man named Carwen begins his evil ritual. He was a tall man with long blonde hair and his eyes were a dark purple. He was extremely thin and he wore a cloak that was blood red. Carwen was once a follower of the Demonic King, Erebus who was magically imprisoned centuries ago for trying to enslave mankind with dark magic. Erebus was a master necromancer thanks to his demonic side, and he would raise the dead and conquer many kingdoms and villages. He ruled for centuries until a great wizard known as Shazam challenged him. Their fight was exquisite, but Shazam bested him and sealed him away in a magical prison. His followers disbanded after his fall but Carwen stayed true to his master. He survived for years thanks to Erebus' discovery of the Lazarus Pit. Unfortunately the effects of the pit drove Carwen insane. He spent years speaking in tongues and chanting nonsense of the Pits and of his master until a “ ghoulish” man caught up with him and demanded he be shown the Pits locations. After the second time in the Lazarus Pit he seemed to be more aware of his himself and seemed a bit more sane. He began researching and practicing his magic again. Centuries have passed to this moment. Carwen discovered a way to bring Erebus back. Using the magic his master once used he was able to discover a spell in the libraries of Shadowcrest Manor that would free his master, Erebus.
He needed blood of a tainted soul and the essence of it's collector. He began unsheathing his knife as he looked down at the doped up teenager laying gagged and shackled. He plunged the knife inside the girl's stomach and she opened her eyes and screamed from under the gag. He then stabbed her again, but this time in her chest. Her body began pouring her blood onto the ground. Her eyes began to glaze over. Carwen smiled as he dripped the blood into a bowl. He then pulled out a crystal and waited.
“Come out, come out, wherever you are...” He whispered to himself. The crystal he held contained liquid from the Lazarus Pit and with it he was able to weaken anything that was connected to death. Out of the shadows he saw it, a figure in a black cloak. He looked to be a man in his late fifties. He had gray hair but his eyes were hazel. He leaned over the girl and placed his hands on her head and a black smoke rose up from the girl and the reaper breathed it in. As he stood Carwen struck. He slapped the crystal onto the man and the man fell to the ground screaming in agony.
“Sorry, but I have plans for you.” He began an incantation “eye ma ruoy retsam, eye llac htrof ruoy ecnesse, ti si ym won. Gnola htiw siht s'lrig luos.”
The reaper began to glow and the reaper's body decomposed before Carwen. He collected the dust of the creature's remains and he turned to start the next step in the return of his master.
Niall is the Keeper of the Mislaid Spirits known as Reapers. Niall stays in the astral plain known as Limbo. When a soul is sent to Limbo, Niall makes them into a Reaper, the beings that collect the souls of those who lives have ended. Niall is an eternal like Elidan and Demetria, and, like them, he understands balance. He accepts his role and his duties no matter how unpleasant it may be. Niall is a tall, thin man. He has long silver hair that is tied back and black eyes, his skin is also very pale. He is one of those figures who seems to intimidate those easily.
Niall can seem to locate his Reapers easily, and one just disappeared, which is never a good sign. Reapers don't just disappear. They can be killed but it is not an easy task.
“Mason. Thana. Your assistance is needed.”
Two figures appear. One a young man who looks to be in his late twenties. A tall, athletic looking man with short, black hair and bright, blue eyes. He is dressed in a black sleeve-less shirt and black pants. He has a black ring on his right index finger. The next figure that arrives is a young girl in her twenties also and she has short black hair that lays just above her shoulders and hazel eyes surrounded by long beautiful lashes. She is thin with pale skin. She is dressed in a smokey gray tang top with a dark jacket over it and a black skirt with dark boots up to her knee. As they appear they kneel and then rise and wait for instructions.
“Hurry now to this location.” Niall places the palm of his hands on their foreheads and a spark goes off. He removes them and they look up. “Chase the new reaper has vanished and I want answers. Who is behind this? Also what his killer's purpose is. Kill him if you can.” The two vanish.
They reappear at Carwen's location. Carwen is obviously caught off guard, but readies himself with the Lazarus Crystal.
“You're too late Reapers! I have his essence and soon my Master will rise and make slaves out of all of you!” Yelled Carwen.
Thana looks upon Carwen and smiles. Carwen's aura is black meaning he should be dead, and yet his soul is still in tact. If he was suppose to still be alive then his aura would still be white. “Mason, do you...”
“Oh yeah. This guy has been over due for awhile now. What's with the crystal?” Mason looked at what Carwen held in his hand he had never seen it before.
“I dunno but I want this guy. Niall said we can kill him when we have answers.” she said anxiously.
“What answers do we have exactly?” said Mason.
“HE killed Chase, and he WANTS to raise his master or some shit like that.”
Carwen held up the bowl with his other hand and poured some of the Lazarus liquid inside of it and it began to spark a dark flame. Mason and Thana stared on curiously. Carwen began his next incantation. “yb eht rewop fo ym retsam dna eht ecrof dnuora em, htiw eht gnikat fo ym luos eye evig ym ydob ot lessev mih, esaeler ym drol SUBERE!!”
“Okay I'm bored.” Says Thana. She rushes at him and wraps her hand around his throat and she breathes in the smoke of his soul. Then a dark light surrounds his body and a loud bang throws Thana and Mason back.
Elara I awaken by this noise and she looks around to see a dark light coming from the forest across the road along with a screaming noise. She gets up and runs towards it. Eventually she comes across a horrific sight; a man with black flames coming out of his eyes and mouth, and behind him lie Mason and Thana. Elara instantly knew they were Reapers. The Lazarus Crystal then seem to bury itself into his hand. Soon the light stopped and the man was kneeling on the ground. As he stood, Elara, Mason, and Thana saw that his were the original purple but now was surrounded with black. He looked almost like the original Carwen only more muscle and his teeth were sharpened like an animal. His hair was also black instead of the blonde. The new Carwen took in a breath, and gave a deep sinister laugh. “Finally, I have returned.” he said his voice extremely deep and menacing. He looked at Mason and Thana and smiled. Then he turned at Elara and looked at her. His eyes were piercing. Elara's skin crawled just from him gazing at her.
“Who the hell are you?” Yelled Mason as he got to his feet. He looked in the direction of Carwen's gaze and saw Elara. Her aura was yellow, meaning only one thing, an eternal. Mason looked and saw that Thana had noticed Elara too and she looked at her with intrigue.
“My name is Erebus. Where is Shazam?” He turned his gaze towards the Reapers. Mason knew of the Wizard Shazam, but he heard he had died years back. What did this man want with him?
“Tell me where the wizard is and I may spare you.”
“I have no idea who you are talking about.” Yelled Mason.
“Also, who the f**k do you think you are making threats at us?!” yelled Thana. “One touch of my pretty hand and you're done.”
“I don't even have to lay a finger on you for my power to end you.” Snarled Erebus. He raised his hand and Thana clutched her chest and began screaming in agony. Erebus began laughing and Mason stood not really frightened but unsure of what to do. Thana began coughing up what looked to be blood, and with that Elara could tolerate no more. She threw a fire ball at Erebus, hitting him in his raised hand. He yelled in pain and held his hand looking enraged at Elara. She stood her arms engulfed with yellow fire. “I am the daughter of Demetria and Elidan and like them I will not stand by while you get your kicks from hurting her. Back off!” At this point Thana vanished herself. Mason stayed. Something wouldn't let him leave Elara.
Erebus put his hand down and glared at her. How dare a little girl try to challenge him. He had to put her in her place, and so he disappeared and reappeared behind her striking her before she could figure out what had happened. Elara held her own for a while estimating where he would show up and striking but he had more speed and endurance than her; he vanished and reappeared, striking her everywhere. Soon her fire faded and she laid on the ground, blood running down from her nose. Her eye already swelling. Erebus went to give the final blow then Mason made his move. He placed his hand on the ground and Erebus' feet froze in place on the ground. Mason then ran and picked up the hurt Elara, and began to run towards the edge of the forest. He wanted to get her away from this man. He ran and just as he reached the road Erebus appeared in front of him, smiling. Mason dropped Elara on the ground and turned to fight Erebus. Erebus raised his hand and Mason gripped his hand in pain, the pain seemed to cripple his entire arm. Erebus kneel down at Mason with a look with fascination. “Interesting, it seems you're not the average Reaper are you.”
Mason looked up nervously at him, and with as much force as he could put into it he punched Erebus in his face, knocking the demon to the ground. The pain stopped for a second but then Erebus got up and the pain intensified. “Don't F**K with a necromancer boy, I have powers you can't even imagine to match. I will kill you even if it's with my bare hands!” Erebus grabbed Mason by his throat and as he lifted him, Mason swung his legs and kicked the demon in his gut causing the man to drop Mason. His hand still hurt more than ever, but he would not give up. Something seemed to rush up onto Erebus and knock him across the road. Mason looked and a boy stood there. The boy had short black hair, and he had an athletic build. From what Mason saw he was wearing a black shirt with blue jeans, but strangely enough his aura was a purple color. A color he had never seen before. The boy stood ready to attack. Erebus got up much slower this time. He looked at the boy and was confused at the circumstances. He rushed the boy and struck him across the face and the boy did the same and Erebus had never been physically hit like this before. He staggered and it was actually extremely painful. Elara had finally regained herself and stood and again started her fire. Erebus had lost his power over Mason with that last strike. So Mason too stood and they all attacked and with that Erebus vanished. After a while Elara sat down and she felt the pain all over. The boy kneeled down and placed his hand lightly on her shoulder. “Are you okay, miss?”
She looked up into his blue eyes and felt no threat from him. 'I'm fine, I guess, I just hurt.” She began crying because she was ashamed that she didn't use any of her father's training properly. The boy then lifted her up and turned to where Mason was, “And you man, are you oka-” Mason was gone.
The boy just shrugged and looked at Elara. “ My name is Connor. I'm gonna take you to Ma. She should be able to clean you up and I'm sure she won't mind you resting up there. She hospitable like that.” he laughed. Elara pointed to her pack and he leaned her down so she could grab it and then they seemed to be flying but Elara was unsure because she was so exhausted and she hurt she was starting to regret this idea of coming to Earth but she seemed comfortable with Connor, maybe he would be a new friend. Only time would tell.
