I think they're both solid efforts, and I hope the fans keep turning out quality "productions" like these. It's great fun seeing them come to life.

If you call all missed calls cheating, then every team that has won a Superbowl has cheated. Stop being a sore loser and deal with it. I'm not a fan of either team and I thought it was a great game. The Vikes Saints was a good game except for the missed call. Now the Chiefs just need to get their crap together and go for a run next year. Heh.

I don't get these fan production things.

Saints cheated against the Vikes? How?

Ozy@ I see you are a Pats fan...ummm...Belichik wrote the book on cheating...and got caught.

first off - WHO DAT!!!

secondly - what is the deal with these trailers...are they for real? if so that's awesome but i don't really see that being the case. and what channel did they air on? not CBS (the superbowl channel) b/c i watched that shit all day and never seen either one of those even once.

I like the World of Heroes better.

BTW, really pleased this didn't make main. I'd rather stumble upon these little gems hidden in the news pages. Way ta go, CBM!

gtrman@ Now those are more entertaining, but I still don't see why one goes to all the effort. Kind of like kissing a hot cousin...it may be exciting at the time, but you know it's never going to go anywhere.

I think calling the ones in the article "Superbowl spots" just means they released them during the Superbowl or around that time. They weren't played on CBS during the game. Kind of a lame actually.

Shaman - 2/8/2010, 6:13 AM
Out of the two, World of Heroes was the best but damn, gtrman... that World's Finest one was AWEGAZMIC!!! I hate the Greyson one though... always did! For a batman fan made trailer, i prefer the predator one and especially the Ashes To Ashes on ;)

Ranger14- I totally agree with your last phrase.

Phine- If the trailer actually had gone on the air during the Superbowl, it should have been concidered main page material. But this is just cool stuff that shouldn't be on main IMO.

Ranger14
Ranger14 - 2/8/2010, 9:58 AM
gtrman@ I understand the effort and there must be a lot of personal satisfaction and all, but I personally don't get it, as I know it will never turn into an actual movie, so it is just a creative trailer and nothing more. If they are pitching it to get movie deal, I get that...as long as it is original material and not pasting together clips of movies already shot. I have submitted original demo tracks to the music industry, so I get that.

To each their own. If someone wants to go to the time and effort, no big deal to me. I appreciate your explaining it to me. As a non-film industry person, they just don't do much for me as I know they are still my cousin flirting away. ;-)

thwhtGuardian
thwhtGuardian - 2/8/2010, 12:56 PM
alright, so why are these called superbowl TV spots? Is it because they were styled after the flashy superbowl movie ads?
Ranger14
Ranger14 - 2/8/2010, 1:58 PM
thwtGuardian@ it's called lying to get people to read the article, because they certainly aren't TV spots.
thwhtGuardian
thwhtGuardian - 2/8/2010, 2:03 PM
That's what I thought, I know I didn't see them...and I can't see the people who made these trailers ponying up the 2 million in cash needed to buy a spot.

Really amazing. Superbowl on video???Anyway try to figure out that aside from the video, the team gave dockers as freebies. Everyone loves free stuff, and as per the Super Bowl Commercials, Dockers is giving away free pants. Granted, only 2010 pairs of free Dockers will be given out, but the popularity of signing up for the contest already crashed the servers for Dockers website, albeit temporarily. You can sign up for them until February 15th, and for every e-mail entry, you'll get a coupon for a few bucks off a pair of their pants. The Super Bowl had an abundance of commercials with people, sans pants – maybe a few payday loans worth had to be shaved from production budgets.

I love it!!! In the future when both the Justce League and Avengers movies are done with there will be only one more direction to go in and thats DC vs Marvel, can you imagine the build-up and great advertising for a story featuring the Hulk vs Superman in a live action movie!!!! DAMN!!! (I need to calm down)
