I decided to do a fan cast of Dracula as I've almost always been disappointed by the adaptions made in more recent years. So without further ado, here is my cast for Dracula;
Count Dracula - Lee Pace 34 6'3" (The Fall, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey)
A Transylvanian noble who bought a house in London and asked Jonathan Harker to come to his castle to do business with him.
My choice for Dracula is American actor Lee Pace, I picked Lee because I didn't want a big star name to overshadow the role, and I believe he could do a great Dracula somewhat like his Thranduil we've seen thus far, cold, emotionless and distant. To be honest if he hadn't have sadly passed away Heath Ledger would've been far and away my first choice.
Jonathan Harker - Tom Sturridge 27 5'10" (The Boat That Rocked, On the Road)
A solicitor sent to do business with Count Dracula; Mina's fiancé and prisoner in Dracula's castle.
My choice for Jonathan Harker is English actor Tom Sturridge, I picked Tom because I wanted a relatively unknown actor but not a complete unknown.
Mina Harker (nee Murray) - Bonnie Wright 22 5'6" (Harry Potter series)
A schoolteacher and Jonathan Harker's fiancée.
My choice for Mina Harker is English actress Bonnie Wright, I picked Bonnie as I just wanted a young actress to play the young school mistress and I believe Bonnie has alot of potential to be realised.
Lucy Westenra - Gemma Arterton 27 5'7" (Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters)
An aristocrat; Mina's best friend; Arthur's fiancée and one of Dracula's victim.
My choice for Lucy Westenra is English actor Gemma Arterton, I picked Gemma because I wanted an attractive actress to be the flirty Miss Westenra who makes the three bachelors run in circles for her hand, only to pick the one with the highest social class.
Arthur Holmwood - Henry Cavill 30 6'1" (Man of Steel, Immortals)
Lucy's suitor and later fiancé.
My choice for Arthur Holmwood is British actor Henry Cavill, I picked Henry because I wanted a handsome actor someone with a sort of upper class look to them, qualities that I believe Cavill carries.
Jack Seward - Matthew Goode 35 6'2" (Watchmen, Matching Point)
A doctor; one of Lucy's suitors and a former student of Dr Abraham Van Helsing.
My choice for Jack Seward is English actor Matthew Goode, while origially a consideration for Dracula, I decided to cast Goode as Seward as I feel he has an intellectual feel to him.
Abraham Van Helsing - Viggo Mortensen 54 5'11" (A History of Violence, The Road)
A Dutch professor; Jack Seward's teacher and vampire hunter.
My choice for the Professor is American actor Viggo Mortensen, because he's such a fantastic actor who I think could do the Dutch accent and give whole layers to the character.
Quincey Morris - Charlie Hunnam 33 6'1" (Pacific Rim, Sons of Anarchy)
An American cowboy and explorer; and one of Lucy's suitors.
My choice for Morris is English actor Charlie Hunnam, I must admit when searching for actors to play Morris with an image of what I wanted in my mind and when I came across Hunnam, he matched my image greatly, and while I've heard some people insult his American accent, I'm sure it can't be that bad.
Renfield - Simon Pegg 43 5'10" (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz)
A lawyer whom Dracula turned mad.
My choice for Renfield is English actor Simon Pegg, I picked Pegg because I wanted a comic actor for Renfield, not because it would be a comic role but because it would give him the sympathetic feel.
And finally for Dracula's brides, to be honest any beautiful, young, not terrible actresses would do.
