Hello once again everyone. It's me, MCott62094 and I am bringing you another of my fan casts. This time, it's my personal favorite Marvel hero, Doctor Strange.

When renown, but egotistical and selfish neurosurgeon Stephen Strange gets in a car accident, he loses the use of his hands. He searches the world for a cure, which leads him to the Himalayas and the temple of a mysterious hermit known only as the Ancient One. At first, the Ancient One refuses to help Strange because of his selfishness. Strange's good side comes out when he thwarts the Ancient One's pupil, Baron Mordo, from assassinating the old man. Mordo the banished from the Ancient One's temple, and the Ancient One begins teaching Strange magic, with Strange eventually achieving the title of Sorcerer Supreme.

Strange, with his ally Wong and his lover Clea, battle an array of mystical and demonic foes throughout the film series:

Movie 1: Lord Nightmare
Movie 2: Baron Mordo and Satannish
Movie 3: Shuma-Gorath
Movie 4: Baron Mordo, Dormammu, Umar, and Satannish

Cast:

Stephen Strange/ Doctor Strange/ The Sorcerer Supreme: Russell Crowe

First off, I KNOW HE IS PLAYING JOR EL IN MAN OF STEEL. I just want to say that. Please keep in mind that this is a fan cast, and it's purely my opinion as a fan.

Secondly, Robert Downey Jr playing Tony Stark/ Iron Man while he's pushing 50 has really paved the way for older actors to play the hero.

Looking across the internet, it seems the top 3 contenders for Doctor Strange are Patrick Dempsey, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Viggo Mortenson They're all really amazing choices. But, and I ALWAYS say this, when I fan cast, I like to make a choice that fits the role that NOBODY ELSE has made before. It doesn't mean that I'm dissing the choice that everyone else makes, I'll commend it, I just like to be different.

Crowe is most notable for his Oscar winning performance in Gladiator and more recently as inspector Javert in Les Miserables. Recently, I watched RZA's The Man with the Iron Fists. It wasn't a great movie, but in it Crowe showed that he is still capable of action, even when he's pushing 50. That, on top of Crowe's amazing acting is what made me think he's be great as the Sorcerer Supreme, who is portrayed as a little older than most heroes.

Adrien Brody (The Pianist) was also considered.

Clea: Rose McGowan

McGowan is most notable as Paige in the action/ fantasy/ drama series Charmed and as the one legged go-go dancer Cherry Darling in Robert Rodriguez's Planet Terror.

I first off want to say that McGowan is still really hot, even after the car accident that damaged her eyes (nothing a little makeup can't fix). Clea was ranked 28 on the list of 100 hottest comic book women of all time, so you want someone who is really hot! McGowan. It also helps that she's a great actress. Plus, while looking through pics, I'd hold up a pic of her and a pic of Crowe next to each other, and they looked great together.

Wong: Byron Mann

Mann is most notable as Ryu in the 1994 film Street Fighter. Silver Lion in The Man with the Iron Fists. and Yao-Fei in the comic book series Arrow.

Mann is a HUGELY underrated actor. A lot of you might be hesitant to like this as he's been in a couple of flops. But he (and Russell Crowe) were the only actors to receive praise in the kung fu movie The Man with the Iron Fists. I think it's really hard to receive praise for a bad film. But he's a good actor and great martial artist.

The Ancient One: Randall Duk Kim

Randall Duk Kim is most notable for his roles as the Keymaker in The Matrix: Reloaded and Grandpa Gohan in the live action flop Dragonball: Evolution.

Kim is really great at playing the mentor type role. There is something mystic about his performances, which would be great for the mystical Ancient One.

Jet Li (Fearless) and Chow Yun-Fat (Curse of the Golden Flower) were also considered.

Villains:

Baron Mordo: Joseph Fiennes

Fiennes is notable for his roles as Merlin in the starz series Camelot and William Shakespeare in Shakespeare in Love.

Fiennes is another really great actor who is underrated. But I think that's because he lives in the shadow of his brother Ralph. Fiennes would deliver a strong performance as the banished sorcerer.

Lord Nightmare: Michael Sheen

Sheen is notable for his performances as David Frost in Frost/Nixon, Castor in Tron: Legacy, and Lucian in Underworld: Rise of the Lycans.

Sheen is another great talent. He's played both heroes and villains, and I think he'd be both amazing and terrifying as the lord of dreams.

Satannish: Jermaine Clement

Jermaine Clement is probably most notable for his performance as Boris "the Animal" in Men in Black 3.

It was actually because of MiB3 that I chose Clement to play the Hell lord. He had this look and this voice to his character that I think could carry over to Satannish.

The voice of Shuma-Gorath: Kevin Grevioux

Grevioux is another underrated actor. He has this amazing deep voice. It was really the voice why I chose him for this role. His deep low voice is perfect for the otherworldly being.

Umar: Rachel Weisz

Weisz is most notable for her roles as Evelyn Carnahan in The Mummy and Evanora/ The Wicked Witch of the East in Oz: The Great and Powerful.

I actually chose Weisz because of Oz. She makes an AMAZING witch and an even better villain. She is also incredibly hot like Umar.

Helena Bonham Carter (Dark Shadows) was also considered.

Dormammu: Mark Strong

Strong is most notable for his roles as Sinestro in Green Lantern and Lord Blackwood in Sherlock Homes.

Strong is amazing at being the bad guy or at least the anti hero (hell, he's the ONLY good thing about Green Lantern). He'd be just PERFECT as the arch foe of the Sorcerer Supreme.

Reviews and thumbs up are much appreciated.

You have some alright choices, although I don`t favor Russell Crowe as Doctor Strange. I was thinking more so John Cusack in the role. Other choices are alright for a smaller scale film.

One thing I don`t agree on at all is Lord Nightmare being the villain in the first film alone. You need to have another major villain along the lines to support the movie and that would be Dormammu. Setting Dormammu back all the way in the final movie wouldn`t work without a build up. Which is one thing I can also agree for in the 3rd movie as your idea. Minor villains can not hold up an entire movie alone.

Pretty sweet cast; quite a few great picks here!
If Crowe can ditch the weight is love to see him as Strange, but my personal choice is Anson Mount. Personally, I'd have Sheen or Chris Bale as Mordo; there's more of a visual resemblance there plus Fiennes seems a little bit too docile for it to me...
Forgetting all that, really solid cast, Strobg is another standout!

Still, hope you can check my Batman fan cast; it's a bit above yours!

Hey, @Cott. Great to see another of your fan-casts again. Well, before I start I just wanna say that I must applaud you for always being original and creative with your casting and choice of actors/actresses. Let's get started....

Doctor Strange
Okay, now this is an interesting choice that you went with for Strange (and you gave out some good, valid points as to why you did). I won't deny it; Crowe is really an amazing and talented actor that can bring performances needed for the role he's in. So picturing him as Doctor Strange isn't that hard really. I really think he can pul that off. I was, though, worried about him 'cause of his age. The man is heading into his 50's already, and for a role like Strange with a studio/company like Marvel, you're gonna need an actor who can be able to pull off performances after performances with movies after movies. But hey, if Robert Downey Jr. can still bring us great performances as Tony Stark even when he's late 40's (he's 48 today, I believe), then I think Crowe can pull it off as well. And another thing I'd like to point out is that you wanted an older actor to portray Strange 'cause you feel that Strange is shown to be a bit older than most heroes--and I agree to that. I've always felt that he was more mature, at times, and older than most heroes in Marvel Comics, so I again think Crowe is an interesting choice for Doctor Strange.

P.S. If not Crowe, then perhaps another actor within the early 40's, mid 40's age range. Not sure who, but an actor around that age range.

Clea
Man, you were not kidding about this actress being HOT and beautiful. I've seen a bit of McGowan acting in some flicks I watched, and I believe you've nailed it on the head with this pick. Again, she can act, she's definitely beautiful, hot, and enchanting-looking, so a great pick here.

P.S. I can definitely both her and Crowe side by side and working very well together. Great job, dude.

Wong
Well, I don't know THAT much this actor, but if you say that he can bring in the necessary qualities and abilities to this role, then by all means, I'm fine with that. Plus the fact that he's a martial artist can also help with his role.

The Ancient One
I honestly think that Randall Du Kim is the only actor to really bring this role to life. When I think of The Ancient One and an actor to portray him, Randall Du Kim comes to mind. I just can't think of another actor for this role (I mean, I'm sure there is, but none come to mind). He has this mentor, ancient-mystic aura from him that can be greatly used for such a role like this one. So a great pick here.

Baron Mordo
Well, much like the actor for Wong, I don't much about this actor, really. But if you say that this actor can bring what needs to be brought to a role such as Baron Mordo, then I wouldn't mind seeing him nab the role.

Lord Nightmare
Okay, now I know for sure that Sheen can certainly pull off a terrifying performance as Lord Nightmare. After watching both Tron: Legacy and Underworld: Rise of the Lycans, I can honestly say that he can defintely bring something to this role.

Satannish
Again, much like Wong and Baron Mordo, I really don't know much about this actor. But again, if you say that he can carry over the same level of acting and performance he gave that can really bring to life such a character like Satannish, then sure. Why not?

Shuma-Gorath
Hmmm.... Well, I wouldn't mind Grevioux for the role of Shuma-Gorath, but I think I prefer actor Benedict Cumberbatch or perhaps James Earl Jones for the voice of such a booming and large being like Shuma-Gorath.

Umar
Wow..... Much like Clea, I also think you nailed it on the head with Rachel Weisz as Umar. Hell, with her picture compared to the picture of Umar, it screams for such an actress like Weisz to play. So another great and unique choice you made.

Dormammu
And finally, Mark Strong for Dormammu. Honestly, I can see this man bringing in a malevolent, demonic performance much needed for a character like Dormammu. A great pick for the most badass villains around, I would most certainly jump for Strong as Dormammu.

Well, there ya have it, my friend. You brought, again, another fan-cast that is both very unique and interesting with actors and actresses that are an interesting choice for roles such as these. Keep it up, dude!

Stay EPIC, my friend!
