Ok, I’d first like to make it clear that I’ve only actually been reading Flash comic books for a few months now. I bought Flash: Rebirth and followed it up by getting right up to date with the current series being written by Geoff Johns. During that time, I’ve been lucky enough to meet pretty much all of the characters supporting cast and villains and it is a selection of those that I have included in the following cast. For that reason, some of these choice might not spot on to how long time fans might imagine them. Despite that, I still think this would make for a great movie and hope you enjoy it regardless.
Barry Allen/The Flash
Neil Patrick Harris
Nathan Fillion
Barry Allen is the silver age Flash and arguably the first silver age superhero. He is the second Flash in the Flash family tree, and has recently returned to life after his famed death in Crisis on Infinite Earths.
This was a very hard character to cast simply because of the huge amount of Flash fan casts I’ve already seen here on CBM featuring a lot of great choices…most of which I happen to agree with! However, rather than just copy one of those (regardless of how perfect I think they’d be for the role of Barry Allen) I decided to suggest a few actors who I‘m not sure have been suggested before. There are so many casts posted here, they probably have, but the above two actors are my own personal top picks!
Alyson Hannigan as Iris Allen
In her first appearance, Iris was a reporter for the Picture News, based in Central City, and the girlfriend (now wife) of the chronically late Barry Allen.
Casting another
How I Met Your Mother star alongside NPH wouldn’t be something I’d want to see happen (as a fan of the show, seeing Barney and Lily together would take me out of the movie) but I still think that Hannigan would be a great choice for this role, bringing the great amount of life and personality to the character that Geoff Johns has in the recent series. My second choice for this role would be Anne Hathaway, followed by Evangeline Lilly.

Patrick Wilson as Professor Zoom a.k.a The Reverse Flash
Eobard Thawne was the first Reverse Flash. He also goes by the name Professor Zoom. He is best known for being the archenemy of Barry Allen, as well as murdering his mother by travelling into the past.
Originally my top choice for Barry Allen in a JLA cast I did a while ago, I actually think Wilson would be much better suited to this villainous role! I can easily imagine him bringing the sadistic and evil Reverse Flash to life just as I’m sure Mark Strong will with Sinestro in
Green Lantern. I have no doubt that he’d make a great main villain against either of the above actors I’ve suggested for Barry and his past roles show what a great, diverse actor he is.

As these characters wouldn’t be an essential edition to the movie, I’ve not gone into detail as to why I picked them. I think it would only really be necessary for them to have a small role and an expanded amount of screen time in the sequel. Anyway, here are my picks for who I believe would be the best choices to bring the villainous team to life on the big screen!
