NOTE:
This was a tough one getting up. Firstly, after working hours on the GFX, Photobucket decided not to work for me. Everytime I would attempt to upload, it would log me out. IMGUR doesn't work with this site. Flickr isn't exactly user friendly as I had no idea how to link the photos from here. So ...I am forgoing the uniformity of these matches and posting more crude pictures. I HATE doing it this way, but this needs to go up. Sorry, for the lack of cohesion.

Round 1 Match 3
With our first round 2 match set to be between MrMurdock and mtwiggs, we now look to see who moves on next. Our next competitors took two very different approaches to the Teen Titans. One let the casst and the director do the talking, while the other mapped out quite the epic movie beat by beat, character by character. Both put a lot of work into their entries, but only one can move onto the quarter finals ...where things will get even hairier and even more difficult. Today's fighters are...

Flixmentallo21 Vs. Mumbix

And their challenge is a DC team that has been around since the 1960's, and some may say were more important than the Justice League during a time. We have seen these characters in multiple different incarnations: comics, animated for TV, animated for movie, and as a pitched TV pilot for TNT. We have not seen these amazing characters on the big screen yet, but today two would be producers pitch their dream casts and crews for their first big screen outing. Neither specified if their movies will take place in the larger DCEU canon. Regardless, we are about to witness the March of the Titans.

Teen Titans
Once you have peeped out what each competitor has had to offer with their casting, head below to cast your vote on which one you feel had the better take on the Teen Titans.

Flixmentallo's Cast

"Titans Hunt"

Based on: the 2015-2016 DC Comics mini-series "Titans Hunt" by Dan Abnett and Paulo Siqueira.

#Plot (modified from the summary text for the Titans Hunt collected edition)
"Robin. Wonder Girl. Speedy. Aqualad. Hawk and Dove. There was a time when these and other young heroes were synonymous with justice. They were the Teen Titans, one of the greatest superhero teams in the world…but that world has changed, and the time of the Titans has been wiped from it.
So why are Dick Grayson and Roy Harper—now better known as Nightwing and Arsenal—experiencing memories of a time they never knew? What compels them to hunt for an Atlantean named Garth and an Amazon named Donna Troy? What dangerous secrets connect them to a powerful stranger, a mysterious psychic and an odd couple—and what do those secrets mean for the fate of all life on Earth?
Somehow, somewhere, somewhen, these men and women were Titans. Now the hunt is on for the force that can reunite them so the Titans can tower once more…"

#Cast
+The Titans

-Ian Somerhalder as Nightwing/Dick Grayson

Formerly the first Robin, sidekick to Batman, currently operating as a Bludhaven police officer by day and as the vigilante Nightwing by night. When strange memories begin returning to him of a team he never joined, he begins seeking those same people out, starting with a wandering Amazon...

-Alexandra Daddario as Troia/Donna Troy

A young Amazon warrior and partner to Wonder Woman, Donna since the time of the Twister incident has been living a normal life as a freelance photographer [a nod to her day job from the Wolfman/Perez Titans run], until dark forces cause her to don her armor and take up her sword again.

-Alex Meraz as Tempest/Garth

A young Atlantean soldier who was the partner of Aquaman, jokingly called 'Aqualad' during the days of the original Titans. He has been missing for some time, until Nightwing and Troia find him acting as the secret protector of an aquatic animal sanctuary.

-Kellan Lutz as Arsenal/Roy Harper

Former partner to Green Arrow who went by the name Speedy, who for a long time battled his own alcoholism with the help of Lillith. His chance meeting with Gnarrk brings him to Lillith's doorstep, and on a quest to settle an old Titans score.

-Jane Levy as Omen/Lillith Clay

A drug counselor, telepath and precognitive who secretly has been keeping tabs on Dick, Donna, Roy, Mal, Karen, Hank and Gnarrk. While a member of the Titans, she thwarted Mister Twister's occult ritual--which involved using the Titans as pawns--by erasing the memories of the team's existence and each other. She gathers the former Titans together when Twister resurfaces.

-Eddie Spears as Gnarrk

A time-lost Cro-Magnon who's fully integrated into modern society. A chance meeting with Roy stirs his memories of the Twister incident, causing him to break out his hunting gear and drag Roy with him as he seeks out Lillith for answers.

-Michael Ealy as Herald/Mal Duncan
An award-winning film composer and music producer, he is sought out by Twister to use his sonic abilities to complete a ritual to bring the Antithesis into the world. Twister threatens him with harming his wife and unborn child to get his compliance.

-Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Karen Beecher-Duncan

Mal's wife, pregnant with their first child, who becomes instrumental in the battle against Twister when she discovers her ability to blast energy from her hands.

-Armie Hammer as Hawk/Hank Hall

The more aggressive of the Hawk and Dove duo. He begins remembering a time where he and his brother Don, the original Dove, were in the Titans when they faced Twister. He eventually remembers that Twister murdered Don during the battle, angering him enough to pummel Twister and weaken him.

-Emma Watson as Dove/Dawn Granger

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0914612/?ref_=nv_sr_2
The more pacifistic of the Hawk and Dove duo. Hawk's current partner and the ex-girlfriend of the former Dove, Don Hall. Dawn brings Hank to Lillith when she learns that he'd receive counseling from her before, only for the three of them to run into Gnarrk and Arsenal.

+Civillian Characters

-Mark-Paul Gosselaar as Eddie Corliss

A police officer who, as a teenager, was connected to the mysterious formation of the Titans to investigate the truth behind the 'Wild Beast in the Woods'.

-John Cho as Jung-Mo Song

A friend of Mal's and a famous musician from Seoul, South Korea.

+Villains

-Tobin Bell as Mister Twister/Brom Stikk

A demonic sorcerer who once plagued townships in the colonial-era United States, he was the foe that brought the Titans together when he threatened to unleash the Antithesis upon the world. Omen's mindwipe kept Twister at bay for years, until he emerged again, terrorizing Mal and Karen and threatening their unborn baby. It begins with him restoring the memories in each individual Titan...

-Lawrence Makoare as Mammoth/Baran Flinders

A superstrong, savage metahuman manipulated by Twister into attacking Nightwing, Troia and Garth.

-James McAvoy as Neil Richards *a reinvented version of Mad Mod*

A member of the group "Diablo", which seeks to prevent the Titans from reuniting so that Twister cannot complete the ritual. He orders members of the team killed to prevent this.

-Matt Willig as D-Daddy *a reimagined Ding-Dong Daddy*

A Diablo operative whose muscle car transforms into a weapon-filled suit of armor.

-Jena Malone as Honeybun

D-Daddy's cybernetically-enhanced partner.

A stinger scene at the end shows a bolt of lighting flashing during a rainstorm. From the spot where the bolt struck stands a red-haired young man in a yellow-and-red costume. Looking at his surroundings, he smiles and says "It worked. I can't believe it worked. I'm home...."

...And now ...his opponent...

Again, sorry that this isn't as organized as the entries. This one was altogether a bitch of a match to get up for some weird reason. There was a misunderstanding with my lack of a clarification, photobucket was f'ing up on me, and the images took forever to load. Next time will be better.

@BatVision has been DQ'ed and an alternate has been contacted. I haven't heard from him in a LONG while and we have alternates waiting in the wings at this point. @Lurchadamo communicated yesterday that he has been busy, thus he has 24 hours to complete his casting and send it to [email protected]. I will contact another alternative if his submission is not in by that point.

@BawbScharf - my vote goes to @flixmentallo21 mainly because I'm not too familiar with @mumbix cast overall and while I believe a Teen Titans movie directed by joe Cornish would be awesome I wouldnt have to much faith in the cast based on some of the movies they've been in

My Personal Thoughts:

I need to go with my heart here. I know, I know ...@FlixMentallo21 CLEARLY put a lot of thought into his story, concept, and presentation. However, I feel that @Mumbix has the perfect cast and director ...and most of the actors ARE or LOOK age appropriate for the Teen Titans. Plain and simple, people love that 2003 cartoon series for a good reason: it was fun with a whimsical take on the characters ...that still was a super hero action show. A Joe Cornish production with a youthful cast would capture that and get fans who grew up with that show into the theater. There was nothing wrong with the other either, though. It was very well thought out and plotted. I just feel that Mumbix's catches the essence of the most popular incarnation better.

Vote: Mumbix

HOWEVER ...IF he gets past this round, he is going to need to be more detailed with his choices if he wants to survive because he will be surrounded by people who can really bring it in that category.

Although I think I have a better understanding of @Mumbix fancast and can see them all being cast as the Teen Titans, I gotta cast my vote for @Flixmentallo21. Admittedly, I'm not as familiar with the Teen Titans (or DC characters in general), but I could see this his movie playing out in the current DCEU. I know some of you won't agree, but that's my pick.

Also, @BawbScharf...I'm working on my round 2 fancast and I think I can safely say that @MrMurdock is going to win by a landslide. LOL!

@mtwiggs - lol. Yeah, I don't know. That one was there to be intentionally tough ...especially considering there are a surprising number of people who are completely unfamiliar with the property ...which is super weird because it was incredibly HOT in it's hay day.

I'm also voting @Mumbix this round. @Flixmentallo21 's cast is almost TOO good. Big names in minor roles, actors I don't particularly care for...

It was a good cast, but he just went too big.

@Flixmentallo21 great picks pal, i also had Ian Somerhalder in my first draft for dick grayson, i was also going to include ted Kord in there and thought Adam brody would be an interesting pick
FlixMentallo21
FlixMentallo21 - 3/17/2017, 8:02 AM

FlixMentallo21
FlixMentallo21 - 3/17/2017, 8:07 AM
@Mumbix - Funnily enough, some of your actors could work for the younger versions of my cast memebers during the flashback portions of the story.
PrinceAwesome
PrinceAwesome - 3/17/2017, 5:58 AM
Dam, I wish I had the chance to cast this one. I think I would've nailed it but oh well.

Well, these choices are alright to say the least. I wouldn't mind seeing any of them. But if all of this is set on the current continuation of the DCEU, then my pick would be @FlixMentallo

@Mumbix has a really good looking cast, but looks arent everything. There are also a lot of other things that need to be considered when casting, including acting ranges, experiences, and diversity (which is another plus FlixMentallo has).

Good job to both titans! Well done.
TheDayman
TheDayman - 3/17/2017, 6:13 AM
@FlixMentallo had a more detailed fan cast and over all idea for the movie, but I think @Mumbix should win this.
DetectiveCinema
DetectiveCinema - 3/17/2017, 6:30 AM
@FlixMentallo21 has a clear vision for his Titans film and it's won me over. While it's unrealistic to have an ensemble cast that large for single film, his thorough cast of characters would fit nicely into a trilogy. The only choice I really don't care for is McAvoy as Neil Richards. Highlights are Meraz as Garth, and surprisingly Kellan Lutz as Arsenal.

@Mumbix has some solid choices, in particular Robinson as Robin, Simpkins as Beast Boy. Copley as the Clock King is a superb pick.

Mumbix most definitely. Most of flixmentallo's "teen titans" cast was in there 30s.

FlixMentallo21 - 3/17/2017, 8:05 AM
@kong - Kinda the point with mine. I took the 'Titans' end of things, considering the source material is set years after the Titans were Teens.

kong - 3/17/2017, 3:34 PM
@FlixMentallo21 - I figured that was the reason. Just kind of seems easy to me. You do an older fake there's more actors to choose from, making it easier to cast them.
