Peter is just starting High School and will be 14 goin on 15 for the first Season..This will allow the series atleast for the first 4-5 seasons to have Peter still young and exemplify the theme of dealing with teenage issues while struggling to be a super hero and how that effects his life both at home and school. Besides Spider-Man's costume and look most of the villains outfits and appearance will be modernized. For example Green Goblin will not be a huge CGI monster, it will be practical effects and make up similiar to how Joss Whedon had the demons look on his shows Buffy and Angel...Doc Oct suit will not be spandex looking but more so an outfit of more modern look and realistic feel similar to X-men leather outfits but will be colored to his usual color scheme of green.

Whoa the age gaps are real between kids and adults. For Gwen I recommend Peyton R List and maybe as an alternative have Zachary Gordon for Peter Parker

I had only looked at the cast when I commented earlier. The story is AMAZING!!! One of, if not, the best Spider-Man articles I've seen on the site in a long time.

Eh, I think we need to move on from the whole high school origins story. The leak said that a new Spider-Man movie franchise should start with Peter in his adulthood. Still, I like some of the cast in here!

@RoadDogXXIV I feel tv is the perfect forum to truly get the high school origins right...In the comics Peter remained in High School for majority of his career as Spider-man...the main point of the creation and story behind Spider-Man was that Stan Lee wanted to give a story that mimics the struggles and life of a teenager but with the added bonus of him having super powers he wanted to show a parallel of puberty and coming of age with also doing that with super powers...the films start in high school but in Sam Rami's film series he was out of high school by the second act of the film and in Amazing Spider-Man he was only in high school for 1 film...A tv series that starts with Peter in his freshman year allows us to follow him through out his entire teenage years as both Peter and Spider-man..

@SpiderHypenMan i choose Cameron Broyce because he is an experienced dancer and when out of uniform can accurately and realistically do some of Peter's actions when he has his powers thats its believable he is Spider-Man..If this was years ago i would make it Taylor Lauten who also has dance and martial arts exp...but i wanted to stay true to the age of Peter and have a actor who has done both movies and tv which he has plus the way disney cast they tend to chose in-house and Cameron is already a disney child star so put him in the role of spider-man is very realistic.

@Drakenxtreme - Just to clarify, you say that Peter was in high school for the majority of his career in the comics. That might be true in the Ultimate comics but in the originals he startet at ESU in issue #31. Same time and place he met Harry and Gwen.

@SpiderHyphenMan also for Gwen..i looked at Peyton but she didn't give me bad girl from her photos or roles...and i needed someone who appeared vastly mature for her age and be a bad girl with vulnerability and Darcy Brynes was that actress...I've seen her role on Desperate Housewives and when i saw she was still 15/16 i knew she was Gwen of this tv show based on her portrayal in Ultimate Spider-Man Gwen is tough, rebellious and dresses mature and looks threatening to Mackenzie Foy's Mary Jane to cause rift..thats what i was looking for..in each casting i looked at past roles...past chemistry with other actors..age..range of the actor..this was a deeply thought out cast i put together which took majority of the time..i pictured in my head words they would..scenes they can do..i was going to put my reasoning for choosing these actors under each casting but it would have took forever

Why Tom Welling as Doc Ock?

Also, it's funny you have Munn as Betty Brant here, since I'm using her as the voice of Brant for an animated series fancast of mine: "Spider-Man Team-Up", the Marvel answer to DC's 'Batman: The Brave and the Bold'.

@FlixMentallo21 i choose Tom Welling based on the Ultimate Doc Ock..who is muscular n tall...n i thought it would be interesting to see him in a villain type role n as an actor i figured in real life he would enjoy playing the other side of a super hero series..he is probably the only casting i did for physical appearance n also for the simple fact of seeing play something different

While I am personally tired of Spider Man in any and all iterations, the cast and story here is very nice.

Good cast. Well done for keeping the actors age similar to the characters.

This is good but I just cant see Tom Welling as Ock. He doesnt have the gravitas for it.

@PapaLazarou - I’m sort of curious as to why a few people here cast Welling as Ock in the first place.
