I also noticed that a lot of fancasts centering around the JLA have been made lately. Which only increased my interest in updating my previous cast, but without any of the previous Batman/Superman/Green Lantern movies being intersected. Here goes nothing...
Heroes:
Batman/Bruce Wayne - Matt Bomer (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning, White Collar)
Honestly, I've never heard of Bomer until several people on here mentioned him in their fancasts. I decided to look the dude up, and he seems like the perfect replacement for Christian Bale.
Others I considered: Jim Caviezel, Jake Gylenhaal
Superman/Clark Kent/Kal-El - Jim Caviezel (The Passion Of The Christ, Angel Eyes)
I know a lot of people want him for Batman, but for some reason I better seem him as the Man of Tomorrow. I've only seen him in Passion Of The Christ, but he seems to have the acting chops to take on Supes.
Others I considered: Matt Bomer
Wonder Woman/Princess Diana - Olivia Wilde (Tron: Legacy) OR Jaimie Alexander (Love & Other Drugs)
I'm kinda torn between the two. I think both will rock as Wonder Woman.
Others I considered: Megan Fox, Jennifer Love Hewitt
Green Lantern/Hal Jordan - Bradley Cooper (Limitless, )
The dude screen tested for the role until Ryan Reynolds got it. I'm glad Reynolds got it, I think he's perfect for the role (go ahead, let the hate comments come), but I think Cooper would be great as Jordan.
Others I considered: Chris Pine, Sam Worthington
Green Lantern/John Stewart - Chiwetel Ejiofor (2012, Salt)
I'm definitely sticking by this choice. Ejoifor seems too perfect to let down.
Others I considered: Will Smith, Denzel Washington
The Flash/Barry Allen - Chris Pine (Star Trek, Unstoppable)
I hope those rumors of him being in talks for Flash are true. I know a lot of people want Bradley Cooper or even Ryan Reynolds, but IMO, Pine would rock as the Scarlet Speedster.
Others I considered: Ryan Reynolds, Bradley Cooper
Aquaman - Leonardo DiCaprio (Inception, The Aviator)
I know he's probably too much of a big-name actor to play a relatively unknown character, but so? I honestly can't picture anyone else in the role who would do just as well.
Others I considered: Chris Hemsworth
Green Arrow - Ewan McGregor (Star Wars prequels, Robots)
McGregor's a great actor, and one I can very easily see in the role. Just dye his facial hair (and head-cial hair. :p) blonde, and he'd be PERFECT.
Others I considered: Brad Pitt, Chris Pine
Martian Manhunter - Laurence Fishburne (The Matrix, CSI)
In all honesty, I'm not very familiar with Fishburne at all. But I recently saw his name in a list of possible actors to play Manhunter, and it became one of those "Ehhh...sure, why not?" moments.
Others I considered: James Earl Jones, Martin Lawrence
Hawkgirl - Gemma Arterton (Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time, Quantum Of Solace)
Emma Stone was my original choice, but considering she's quite young and she's caught up with The Amazing Spider-Man, I decided on Arterton after I saw someone fan-cast her in the role. Say what you will, she's a cool actress.
Others I considered: Emma Stone
Plastic Man - Jim Carrey (Batman Forever, Bruce Almighty)
Both characters are clowns. Plus, Carrey's experienced at CBMs (although his role as the Riddler was a little...off), so he should do fine here.
Others I considered: Keanu Reeves, Steve Carrell
Black Canary - Jessica Biel (The A-Team, Texas Chainsaw Massacre)
This is more of an original choice than the previous ones. She seems like someone who can do at least a decent job.
Others I considered: Kristen Bell
Villains:
Darkseid - Jeremy Irons (The Lion King, Lolita)
If Irons can provide a reminiscent voice to his portrayal of Scar in TLK, let him have it.
OIC: James Earl Jones, Michael Duncan
Lex Luthor - Billy Zane (Titanic, The Phantom)
Sure, why not?
OIC: Mark Strong, Adam Harris
The Joker - James Franco (127 Hours, Spider-Man)
The dude's a brilliant actor, and if he can do a Heath Ledger-type spin, let him have it.
OIC: Crispin Glover, Adrien Brody
Cheetah - Charlize Theron (Astro Boy, Hancock)
Yay, another original choice no one thought of before!
OIC: None
Poison Ivy - Bryce Dallas Howard (Spider-Man 3, Twilight Eclipse)
She's cool (even if she was in a Twicrap film). I can see her do good things with Poison Ivy that Uma Thurman didn't do.
OIC: Christina Hendricks
Brainiac - Ralph Fiennes (Harry Potter, )
Duh.
OIC: None
Well, that's my update. Peace out!
