Well this article is long overdue, heck any article at this point is long overdue. Some of you may remember me, some may not. I used to be an Editor and regular contributor to the site many moons ago lol Even though I was an editor and spent a lot of time posting the more "breaking news" type of stories, I always made time for fan-fic. So I thought this would be a fitting spot to make a return.

So I've made a list of SOME of my favorite comic book villains, and the actors I'd like to see play them on screen. I like to think I've kept the majority of my choices as original as I could. I tried to avoid all the actors that you see cast in the same roles over and over again.

The Joker: Matthew Goode (Watchmen, Stoker)

Casting Joker was probably the most difficult choice in this whole list. It was hard for me to find an actor who hasn't been cast a hundred times in a fancast. Admittedly most of the actors picked in the past are extremely good choices, hence why they get picked so often, I however felt it was time for a change, and for me Matthew Goode fits the bill.

Carnage/Cletus Cassidy: Norman Reedus (The Walking Dead)

Not a whole lot for me to say about this pick. I love the guy on The Walking Dead, he's a total badass, he's got that sinister and evil look about him, and I think he'd be a perfect fit for good 'ol Cletus.

Hugo Strange: Kelsey Grammer (X-Men: The Last Stand)

Kelsey's certainly come along way from 'Frasier' and in my opinion a completely underrated actor in the eyes of the general audience, easily forgettable, a side character, nothing more. However I think if he was put to the test and given the role of Hugo, he'd go down in history as one of the greatest CBM villains.

Kingpin: Brendan Gleeson (In Bruges, Gangs of New York)

I don't think I've seen Brendan cast as Kingpin before, and I'm surprised I haven't!! The guy just has that evil attitude, like he should be a crime boss in real life. Not the hands on, trained in martial arts, beat the snot out of you, crime boss. More of the man behind the scenes who controls the big picture.

Kraven: Josh Brolin (Men in Black 3)

Josh gets picked for a lot of roles on this site, Batman seeming to be the popular choice. But personally I'd rather see him in a more villainous role, and lets face it, he's definitely got the look for Kraven, he's proven himself time and time again to be an extremely versatile actor, and personally I'd love to see him be the man to finally bring Kraven to life!

The Lizard: Ralph Fiennes (The Harry Potter series)

The main thing I was going for with this pick is I wanted someone to bring a completely different attitude and tone to The Lizard, I wanted an actor who could do the prosthetic part of the role and nail it, but someone who actually still seemed intimidating when he was playing regular 'ol Curt Connors.

Mr. Freeze: Charles Dance (Game of Thrones)

I'm a big Game of Thrones fan and Charles is one of my favorite actors on the show. Last time I did a fancast that included Freeze, I picked Robert Englund for the role, and I was very tempted to use him again but after rewatching some Game of Thrones, Charles quickly changed my mind!

Mysterio: Billy Crudup (Watchmen)

Another pick on the list that I don't have any specific reason for, I like Crudup as an actor, and pairing him with Mysterio just seems like one of those odd, out of left field choices, that would turn out to be amazing.

Venom: Zachary Quinto (Heroes, Star Trek)

I looooove Venom. Venom and Carnage are hands down my 2 favorite Spider-Man villains and it kills me that we haven't seem them on screen yet (Not properly at least). Quinto has that nice guy charm that I think is a good fit for Eddie Brock, but he also has the hidden darker side that fits well with Venom. Pair him up with Norman Reedus as Carnage and you've got a hit!

Lex Luthor: Cole Hauser

One of the least inspired picks on this list, I've seen Cole cast as Luthor a few times before, but for the love of god there's no way I could bring myself to cast Billy Zane (For the love of god please no!!) or Brian Cranston, like hundreds of others have done before me. I just like the idea of Cole for Lex, for me it just fits, you have to have some who's good-looking, suave, yet still a complete badass and probably the biggest jerk you've ever met.

Dr. Doom: Idris Elba

I know, I know, Idris gets cast in way too many different roles on this site, well too bad, add one more to the list!! Doom was another hard one to cast, I wanted someone who could give off that villainous vibe, without actually looking like your typical villain. Plus c'mon, imagine hearing Idris' stone cold voice echoing out from behind that metal mask!!

Well there you have it folks, my first article on the site in a very long time, and hopefully not my last! I hope you guys like most of my picks at least, and if it's well received enough, I might put together a part 2. For now though I'm planning a mash up of my favorite Marvel & DC heroes.

Comments in the usual spot....Man it feels weird to type that again lol
