"Nextwave" follows five washed up superheroes of the "Marvel" universe, who are assembled by H.A.T.E. (Highest Ant-Terrorist Effort) to fight Unusual Weapons of Mass Destruction (U.W.M.D.). However, they discover that H.A.T.E. is funded by the Beyond Corporation©, which is actually a terrorist cell called S.I.L.E.N.T. They steal a vehicle called the Shockwave Rider, which is bigger on the inside than on the outside (like Doctor Who's TARDIS) and destroy the U.W.M.D.s that are hidden across america with H.A.T.E. director Dirk Anger hot on their trail.
Anyway, I want David Fincher to direct this. I'm a big fan of his films and this would seem like a good project for him.
Anyway, on with the cast!
Nextwave:
Freema Agyeman as Monica Rambeau: The former Captain Marvel, who can generate, absorb, and manipulate energy and can travel up to the speed of light when in an energized formed.
Reason for Casting: Love her on "Doctor Who" and "Torchwood".
Katee Sackhoff as Tabitha Smith: A former member of X-Force, who can create "balls" of psionic energy that can explode with a concussive force.
Reason for casting: After watching multiple episodes of "Battlestar Galactica", I decided Katee would be good as Tabitha.
Neil Patrick Harris as Aaron Stack: An android named X-51, who has telescoping arms and legs and can fly by the use of anti-gravity disks.
Reason for Casting: He seemed right for the part (plus I love him on "How I Met Your Mother").
Laura Prepon as Elsa Bloodstone: A former monster hunter who has an accelerated healing factor, superhuman strength, and is a skilled fighter.
Reason for Casting: She's hilarious on "That 70's Show" and she proved herself to be a serious actor in "Karla".
David Duchovny as The Captain: Previously called Captain ☠☠☠☠ (The last part of the name being so horrible that Captain America beated him up, leaving him in a dumpster with a bar of soap in his mouth). He goes under a variety of alias that of the word "Captian" in them. His powers include superhuman strength, endurance, flight, and enhanced sight (which, according to him, are "kind of sucking").
Reason for Casting: He was the first person who popped into my head when casting. I thought of casting Charlie Sheen, but he has now becomed a drugged up narcissistic douche who lives in his own little fantasy world.
Villains:
Bruce Campbell as Dirk Anger: The director of H.A.T.E., who oversees all of it's operations aboard the Aeromarine (a vehicle consisting of sveral submarines bolted together, powered by rocket engines). He has a variety of psychological issues including misogyny, bulimia, alcoholism, nicotine addiction, depression, and sadism. He is over ninety years old, but has an extended life soan thanks to chemical retadant agent. It is implied that his mother is radical feminist Andrea Dworkin.
Reason for Casting: Love him on "Burn Notice" and he seems to fit the role.
