First off, this cast is for fun. If you are here to moan and whine that Star Wars can never be remade, then do me a favor and:
Anyway, on with the cast!:
Heroes:
Jamie Bell as Luke Skywalker: A young farmer on the desert planet of Tatooine who discovers that his father was a member of the ancient Order of the Jedi Knights. He trains to become a Jedi Knight and joins the Rebel Alliance in their fight against the evil Empire.
Reason for Casting: Bell is an extraordinary actor. What led me to cast him was his performance as Jimmy in "King Kong".
Keira Knightley as Leia Organa: A member of the Alderaan Royal household and a member of the Imperial Senate. She is secretly a collaborator in the Rebel Alliance.
Reason for Casting: Keira has played strong woman in the "Pirates of the Caribbean" trilogy and in "Domino". I also loved her performance in "Atonement".
Thomas Jane as Han Solo: A smart-mouthed Corellian smuggler with a quick draw. He is the owner and pilot of the "Millennium Falcon", the fastest ship in the galaxy.
Reason for Casting: I needed someone who is badass for Han, so I decided on Jane (who was badass in "The Punisher"). Plus, he has a resemblance of sorts to Jane.
Sylvester McCoy as Obi Wan Kenobi: An old hermit who was once a General in the Clone Wars. He is one of the few surviving Jedi, going into hiding after the renegade Jedi Darth Vader killed his fellow Jedi. He trained Luke's father, and then begins to train Luke after he decides to become a Jedi.
Reason for Casting: I had difficulty in casting Obi Wan since Alec Guinness was so brilliant in that role. I eventually decided on Sylvester McCoy after watching him in old episodes of "Doctor Who".
David Tennant as C-3PO: A stuffy protocol droid who is fluent in a variety of languages.
Reason for Casting: He was the first guy I thought of when casting C-3PO.
Brian Steele as Chewbacca: Han Solo's Wookie co-pilot and friend.
Reason for Casting: The guy is a frakkin' giant and has played otherworldly creatures before.
Frank Oz as Yoda: A 900 year old Jedi knight who trains Luke after Obi Wan's death.
Reason for Casting: It's impossible to replace Frank Oz as Yoda.
Jeffrey Wright as Lando Calirissian: A former smuggling friend of solo's, now the administrator of Cloud City on the planet Bespin.
Reason for Casting: I immediately thought of him in "Casino Royale" when casting Lando.
Villains:
Ralph Fiennes as Darth Vader: The evil Sith Lord who murdered most of the Jedi and continues to hunt down survivors. He is hellbent on destroying the Rebel Alliance.
Reason for Casting: The guy is an expert in playing evil. He has played a Nazi, a serial killer, and the most evil wizard in the world. He would totally own this role.
Christoph Waltz as Grand Moff Tarkin: The commander of the Death Star, a space station with enough firepower to destroy an entire planet.
Reason for Casting: The man is a brilliant actor. He was great in "Inglorious Basterds".
Terrence Stamp as Emperor Palpatine: The evil Sith Lord and the ruthless ruler of the galaxy.
Reason for Casting: I've seen alot of people casting Malcom McDowell and Brad Dourif in this role, but I decided to do something different and I went with Terrence (he was brilliant as General Zod).
Keith David (voice) as Jabba the Hutt: A nototrious Tatooine gangster who has placed a bounty on Han Solo's head.
Reason for Casting: The guy is a brilliant voice actor.
Ray Stevenson as Boba Fett: A jetpack equipped bounty hunter who is after the price on Han Solo's head.
Reason for Casting: The guy was awesome as Gary Oldman's henchman in "The Book of Eli".
Sharlto Copley as Greedo: A Rodian bounty hunter who attempts to kill Han Solo and collect the bounty, something that he has been waiting to do for a long time. However, Han shoots him first.
Reason for Casting: He's the only guy I want Greedo for.
Please leave your thoughts and comments below!! And remember, this is just for fun. I would rather sit through a Justin Bieber concert than see the original trilogy be remade.
