Fantastic Four Fan Cast [UPDATED]

The World's Greatest Heroes

The following is a fan cast for a Fantastic Four reboot to coexist within the Marvel Cinematic Universe:

Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic: Sharlto Copley

Reason: Originally I had chosen Matt Damon to play the role of Reed Richards. However, many people felt Damon is too much of a straight man to play the scientist. Enter District 9 star Sharlto Copley, Copley has proven to be rising actor and could be fantastic (pun intended).

Sue Storm/Invisible Woman: Charlize Theron

Reason: Sue Storm is said to be the most beautiful female in the Marvel Universe. For this reason, I chose the South African beauty. Theron, an Academy Award winning actress, has the acting chops to perform opposite of Matt Damon.

Johnny Storm/The Human Torch: Joseph Mazzello

Reason: Joseph Mazzello aka Timmy from Jurassic Park has grown up into a fine young actor. He recently has been seen in HBO's The Pacific and The Social Network. Mazzello has the acting to potential to transorm himself into the scene stealing Johnny Storm.

Ben Grimm/The Thing Thomas Haden Church

Reason: Academy Award-nominated Thomas Haden Church is in my view the perfect candidate for The Thing. He has a deep voice and the right face to be digitally reconfigured into his monstrous superhero figure. Haden is familiar to the CBM world having played Sandman in the disappointing Spider-man 3.

Victor von Doom/Doctor Doom: Aaron Eckhart

Reason: Doctor Doom, the ultimate enemy of the Fantastic Four, needs to be played by an actor that can convey a sense of villainy as well as nobility. Eckhart did just that as he portrayed Harvey Dent in The Dark Knight.

Not the best, not the worst. Definitely a different take.

John Byrne said back in the 80's that Sue Storm is the most beautiful woman in the Marvel universe, so your pick of Charlize Theron is perfect.
The rest. Not so much. Haden Church was already in Spidey 3 and I personally hate double bookings.
and Rufus Sewell is the only person I want to play Doom. I accept no other candidates.
Pretty decent cast though.

@MaddMonk I dislike double bookings but with more CBMs every year its hard to avoid it. I want the best actors period and it worked for Captain America:TFA

@AlexRival thanks for reading

Good choice for Ben

I don't buy MATT DAMON as the genius leader of
the RICHARDS CLAN.

CHARLIZE is perfect for SUE.

Not familiar with your JOHNNY.

THOMAS HAYDEN CHURCH has a Texas drawl. BEN
GRIM has a New Joizy accent. Plus he was
already SANDMAN.
BEN GRIM should be a tough-looking actor
with a NEW YORK/NEW JERSEY accent. I don't
think THOMAS could handle that.

ECKHART just seems wrong for DOOM, to me.
Too CAPTAIN AMERICA-looking.

Ehh...not really sure about Matt Damon.
He does not fit...

Charlize, what to say?
She is perfect?
She is gorgeous, and is soo talented!
Though I picked Diane Kruger, I do like CHarlize in the role!

I have no idea who your Johnny pick is.

Thomas Hayden gets on my nerves...
It's his voice. I don't like him for Ben.
Like DDD said, Ben should have a very New York-ish accennt.

Eckhart could work, I guess...
He does seem to Captain America-esque for Doom, though.

Pretty good...
It could work

Not big on Damon as Reed, but everything else is good. Although I've always wanted Diane Kruger for Sue.

Charlize Theron as Sue Storm would be perfect!!! Matt Damon is an ok choice. Little Timmy from Jurassic Park is another good choice for Johnny.

I have never seen your pick for The Thing in any other movie but Spiderman so it would be weird for me to see him in the movie. And Aaron Eckhart as Dr Doom is MONEY IN THE BANK!!! Again he was also in a comicbook movie but he would be perfect as Doom!!!

@tweeeeenkies3 How do you not remember little Timmy from Jurassic Park???

Do you remember now? LOL.

Thanks everyone thus far for reading. I just want to point out that Thomas Haden Church is an actor and people often can learn new accents for roles. If not we wouldnt have a Welsh Batman and British Spider-man currently.

I really like Simon Baker from The Mentalist for Reed. His character in The Mentalist, who is always thinking a few steps ahead of everyone else, is what makes me think he would work for Reed (who is always the guy with a plan). Plus Reed needs to be nerdy and Matt Damon is is not nerdy enough.
Charlize is a win.

After reviewing my fan cast, I wish I had replaced Damon with Sharlto Copley for Reed. I still think Damon would do an admirable job but Copley would be fantastic.

I think Rufus Sewell is a good choice for Doom who has to be arrogant, narcissitic and brooding all of which I think Sewell can do easy.

The knee-jerk reaction is to hate the Thomas Haden Church pick because of Spider-Man 3, but he's got the voice and he wouldn't be bad as the voice of Ben Grimm. The only problem is he's pretty tall where as Ben is on the shorter, stocky side.

I like it a lot better now with Copley, so much talent. I'll watch anything he's in.

I like Copley, but I don't see him as Reed (yet)...of course Matt Morrison is always my pick, but not that yours is a bad idea. The rest are okay, though your Johnny kinda looks like Chris Evans in that picture (never heard about him, anyway) and Church and Eckhart have been Sandman and Two-Face respectively. But still, keep up the job. :)

My Johnny Storm is Joseph Mazzello. He is best know as little Timmy from Jurassic Park. Here is an example of his most recent work:
