I tried to keep this as original as possible, but if I felt that one particular role was too perfect in terms of fan castings seen before, I kept it.
For the director of these films, I have two choices: either Duncan Jones or Brad Bird.
Duncan Jones is the director of the films "Moon" and "Source Code". I think he has a fantastic eye not only for character development, but for action as well. I feel like if he meshed his character skills in "Moon" and the action in "Source Code" we could get a great Fantastic Four film!
Brad Bird is directing his first live-action film, "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol". Before that he is known for directing "The Iron Giant," "Ratatouille," and "The Incredibles". I think Brad Bird is a great director, like Duncan Jones. I also believe that "M:I - GP" will be a fantastic film, not only action-wise, but also character as well.
Now onto the cast. This isn't for just one movie but an entire series, which I"m thinking would be 3-4 films.
I don't think I've seen him cast as Reed Richards before. Michael Sheen is a phenomenal actor, appearing in "Underworld" and "TRON: Legacy," however his role as David Frost in "Frost/Nixon" sold me on his acting chops. I think Michael Sheen would relish as the brilliant, stretchable scientist.
I'm sure she has been cast before as Sue Storm, but I can't remember seeing Malin Akerman cast. Malin Akerman has been in the films "Watchmen," "The Proposal," and "Couples Retreat". I find her to be a great actress who can be both maternal and down right aggressive.
Jeremy Sisto is a relatively unknown actor, I think. He is currently starring in the television show "Suburgatory". Before that he has appeared in "Clueless," "Thirteen," and "Nightmares & Dreamscapes".
He may seem like an unlikely choice, but this guy not only is a good actor, he's got that gruff, gravely voice of Ben Grimm, as well as the quiet intensity that the man within the beast needs.
I've seen Alex Pettyfer cast as Johnny Storm before, but I think he is one of those where it's a perfect choice. He has been in the films "I Am Number Four," "Stormbreaker," and "Beastly". He's definitely got a cocky side from "Beastly" as well as a handle on action, as in "I Am Number Four".
Where would Marvel's first family be without their villain? Clive Owen is a great actor. Probably one of my favorite films is "Sin City" where he played Dwight McCarthy. He has also been in "Inside Man" and "Children of Men". Clive Owen would bring a real threat to the Fantastic Four in a way that the older movies couldn't allow.
Andrew Tiernan is an English actor who isn't too well known in the States. The one film he would probably be most well known in is "300", where he portrayed Ephialtes, the crippled Spartan warrior who wishes to join Leonidas's army. He has also been in "Murderland" and he appeared in the film "The Pianist".
Ralph Fiennes is a fantastic actor who has played tons of villains before, from Lord Voldemort to Francis Dolarhyde in "Red Dragon". Ralph Fiennes has a great quality about him that can turn anything simple into extraordinary. I think he would make a great Silver Surfer.
And who would he be the herald to?
Clancy Brown has definitely been cast before, but like Alex Pettyfer, this is a perfect casting.
Same reasons as Clancy Brown. He has been in "The Tudors" and is a great actor who will own as the role of Namor, the Sub-Mariner.
In an ideal world, Marvel would own the rights to all of it's properties and we could have a Fantastic Four film set up The Black Panther and then have him get his own solo movie and then have him join the Avengers.
Derek Luke was in "Captain America: The First Avenger" as Gabe Jones, but I feel that Derek Luke would be more well suited as the Black Panther. He has also appeared in the films "Friday Night Lights," "Miracle at St. Anna," and "Definitely, Maybe".
Vincent Cassel has been cast before, but I find him to be a tremendous actor who deserves a CBM role. I think he would be brilliant as the murderous master of sound. He has been in "Ocean's 12" and "Ocean's 13" as well as recently in "Black Swan".
Terry O'Quinn is one of my favorite actors from the show "Lost". Terry O'Quinn is now in the television series "Hawaii Five-0". I think he would be awesome as the Puppet Master.
For his daughter and the love interest of Ben Grimm, Alicia Masters...
Maggie Lawson is best known for her role as Juliet O'Hara in the television show "Psych". She is a quality actress who would make the role of Alicia Masters quite memorable.
For Reed Richards' long-absent father, Nathaniel, I have chosen Robert Patrick. Robert Patrick has been in the films "From Dusk Till Dawn 2," "Spy Kids," "Ladder 49," and most recently he has been seen in the television series "Burn Notice".
Kevin Kline is a wonderful actor who would be great as Sue and Johnny's jailed-father. Kevin Kline has most recently been in the films "Definitely, Maybe" and "No Strings Attached".
Well, that's my cast, I hope you enjoyed it. Like I said, it's not characters for a specific film, just characters I would like to appear within 3 or 4 films.
