Fantastic Four Theme (Fan-Made)

Fantastic Four Theme (Fan-Made)

My musical take on the world's first super family! Hope you all enjoy!

The Fantastic Four are one of my most favorite comic book characters. They arent the typical super heroes as they are more mixed in with the sci-fi genre. They are scientific explorers really so I wanted to capture that part about them. Hopefully you all enjoy!

I compose for a couple of animated works on & off the web. I will say that I like what I heard felt it was missing something. What equipment or software did you use? Overall, I like it. Keep up the good work.

Great job, but one complaint, the pace seems off, the beginning is perfect, but the beat at 2:56 should have kicked in way sooner, and grew from there, ending with a more up-beat tone, it would be a great musical symbolism of the transition they had from normal scientists to super heroes. This is just my thoughts, take it or leave it. Either way good concept.

Very good!! My only complaint is that you should have used a picture of the FF from the comics and not the movie, because the movie was bad.

Next time you should write a song about Viktor because he gets jealous! It will become the national anthem of Latveria :)

Pretty cool.

Reminds me of the sci fi movie themes like Dune or third encounters of the third kind a bit.

Very nice.

This is really great; the best fan-made theme I've heard, and better than a lot of actual movie themes too! It captures the tone of the Fantastic Four pretty well, and I can hear very subtle similarities to some other themes (such as certain Star Trek themes, The Avengers theme, and even parts of the Man of Steel score, etc.). The only minor nit-pick I have is that in a way, it sounds a bit like three separate pieces of music (0:00-1:23, 1:24-2:49, and 2:50-end) rather than a single theme. I think it might be better if you used the background bit (sorry, don't know any terminology) that starts at 1:24 from the beginning instead, maybe replacing the eight note motif that appears throughout the first section.

That said, this is still really good, rivaling a lot of professional work, which is pretty impressive considering that you've said you don't have much equipment. Keep it up!

Great work, I love the 'fresh' feeling of it. It sort of feelings curious and dark at the same time.

Thanks everyone for the kind words and listening...

@itcamefromplanetearth

Thanks for listening. But to be honest, I dont know much about composing really, Im no Hans Zimmer or John Williams...Im far from it and I know it. But one thing about music is that it either hits you or it doesnt. Now I respect your opinion as I know my music and music period wont please everyone. But please dont talk down to other people about their musical taste and what not and act like you are the know it all about music. People like what they like.

Also tell me what you call good scores. Maybe I can learn something from them.

It's headed in the right direction, but there's a lot of room for improvement, still. I say keep working on it, something awesome could come out of it.

You were aware that the Fantastic Four are a Superhero team right. When is this guy going to stop writing these boring as themes that never go with the franchise they are supposedly for.

Doesn't Comic Book Movie.com have editors that can keep this kind of crap off the site. This site is not a demo tape.

@jimdotbeep

Sorry to disappoint man but as far as I go with writing these boring ass themes and this "crap" as you call it....I'm not stoppin bro. I'm hoping to make a career out of this one day and I've got to start somewhere. Might not be the greatest right now, but even the greatest had to start somewhere.

@everyone
Thanks guys for giving it a listen though and leaving thoughts and suggestions and stuff for how I can build upon my work. Hopefully as I keep going I can improve some more and fix my errors. really appreciate your time tho guys.

My honest review: this is good for like a "gritty reboot" trailer, it's far from being Main Suite material, but it fits the space-station atmosphere really well. The beginning synths are very haunting and have layered implications behind them, much like the story itself it has both dark and light vibes to it, optimism and nihilism. It starts out sounding like opening credits to a 70's sci-fi, and parts of it remind me of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords, almost like the score is meant for a sequel that's trying to live up to its predecessor by being harder and grittier. The melody that starts at around 2:30 is really memorable and it picks up especially with the drum hits, right there it feels like an operatic superhero score for a moment. Keep doing more of these, try scoring with different Marvel and DC teams or just stick with this team because it works. I've always thought since Chronicle had a David Bowie song in it, I think a piano rendition of Space Oddity by David Bowie is a good way to introduce the character of Reed Richards.

Don't sweat the haters man, great job. Felt very... Suspenseful. I like it. Just keep making music. If you're looking to make a career out of this, just got to keep going. If I can make a suggestion, can you make "Wonder Woman" theme?

YoDawg - 1/26/2014, 8:10 PM
@MrCBM

Thanks bro, the kind words do mean alot. As far as Wonder Woman goes...man I'm scared. When scoring you have to feel as if you know the character really, and honestly I never got into Wonder Woman much so man...idk

@dethpillow funny, I always pictured Reed in the dark in his bedroom opening a long package mailed to his parents address with a solar panel inside, putting on a space-suit and entering a Negative Zone portal inside his walk-in closet, then attaching the panel to the exterior of his NASA probe called HERBIE. but I guess being stationed in the garage makes more sense, I'm only a novice writer after all.
