Plot
Prior to the events in the game, Kratos was the youngest and most promising captain in Sparta's army, quickly gaining recognition due to his violent tactics. During an attack by a barbarian tribe, they were outnumbered. Before being killed by the barbarian king, Kratos summoned Ares, the Greek god of war, and offered his soul in exchange for a victory. He continued to serve Ares until the god tricked him into killing his own family, after which he served several of the Greek gods for a decade. After becoming tired of serving the gods to erase the memories of his family's murder, he contacted Athena, who offered him forgiveness if he was able to stop Ares' destruction of Athens.
After defeating several monsters which were attacking citizens, Kratos saves the city's oracle who tells him to retrieve Pandora's box in order to defeat Ares. Kratos succeeds in this task, but is killed by Ares and sent to Hades. After escaping from the underworld he returns to Athens and confronts Ares, regaining control of Pandora's box and using its power to kill the god. When he discovers that the gods' forgiveness does not include allowing him to forget his mistakes, he attempts suicide, but is stopped by Athena who informs him that he has been granted Ares' throne on Mount Olympus.
Gameplay
As the player defeats foes, they collect red orbs that act similarly to experience points; at any time, the player can expend red orbs into improving Kratos' skill with weapons and magical artifacts, often gaining new combo moves at specific levels. Numerous chests around will also contain red orbs in addition to green (health) and blue (magic) orbs. There are also special items hidden in chests that, after collecting a number of, will expand the health or magic meter for Kratos. Red orbs can also be found by destroying much of the environmental objects that litter the levels.
All games in the God of War series are action-adventure games presented from a third-person camera, with the player in control of Kratos. Kratos' primary weapons are twin blades on long chains that have been embedded in his arms, allowing him to use the blades as hand-held swords or as swung flails. In addition to direct melee attacks, this gives the player a large number of attack combination, triggered by entering sequences on the controller's buttons, similar to fighting games. Certain foes, when weakened, will be marked with a special indicator; at this point, the player can initiate a "finishing move" by following a sequence of quick time events that if done properly, will instantly kill the creature, while failing to follow the events may harm Kratos.
These moves are required to defeat the bosses. These are not alway's fun. In addition to the blades, Kratos gains magical artifacts and special weapons that can also be used in conjunction with his other attacks, further expanding the catalog of moves that the player can perform. The games also feature a special meter that is filled as Kratos defeats his enemies. When it is filled, the player can unleash a temporary boost to Kratos' speed and power, among other effects. Outside of combat, Kratos must maneuver through the environment; the blades allow him to climb up certain rock faces or hang from ceilings, and Kratos' strength may be employed to push blocks and other objects in order to complete environmental puzzles. By the way these can be a pain in the ass.
Majority of a God of War Movie would be 100% CGI..
Djimon Hounsou is Kratos
Kratos is the main character of the God of War series. He first appeared in God of War as a servant to the gods. Prior to the start of the series, he served as the captain of Sparta's army and was only interested in increasing his power by conquering his opponents. He later became a servant to Ares in exchange for the god destroying his enemies. After accidentally killing his wife and daughter, he renounced his service to Ares and began serving the other gods in an attempt to be forgiven. The gods eventually request Kratos to kill Ares, and in doing so Kratos becomes the new God of War. Afterward, the gods forgive Kratos for his sins but even they cannot free him from the memories that haunt him. Feeling betrayed, he turns against them all and seeks to lead Sparta to dominate the world.
Zeus strips him of his divine power and Kratos allies himself with the Titans to destroy the gods and rule all of Olympus. In God of War III, he finds out the Titans were using him, so Kratos then sets out on a journey killing anyone who gets in his way, gods and titans alike, eventually killing Zeus in the end, and himself, although whether he is truly dead is unknown due to the scene at the end of the credits in God of War III. He also has the nickname the "Ghost of Sparta", which was given to him for murdering his wife and daughter and having to wear their ashes on his skin forever, making his skin have no pigmentation. I mean the guy wears his wife and kids ashes on him..
Sean Connery is Zeus
Zeus is the King of Olympus and creator of the Blade of Olympus. He is the father of Ares, Athena, and Kratos, which is revealed in God of War II. In the first game, Zeus aids Kratos by giving him the power to wield lightning bolts and throw them at his opponents. He betrays Kratos in the beginning of the second game and is the antagonist during the rest of it and in God of War III where he is the final boss and is killed by Kratos with the Blade of Olympus.he King of Olympus and creator of the Blade of Olympus. Clancy Brown is Hades.
Hades was one of the Six Children of Cronos and husband of Persephone. He and his siblings were rescued by Zeus from the
Hades' Chariot..Wrath of Cronos. Then, when the Titanomachy came, Zeus, Hades and Poseidon, the principal gods that battled, fought for humanity and, along with the other Olympians, emerged victorious. After that it was necessary to organize the Cosmos. Poseidon took the waters and the Oceans, Zeus the heavens and the rule of the gods and Hades became the God of Underworld. The deepest part in the Underworld is Tartarus, a place of suffering and pain and the battle ground of the Great War. He was married with Persephone. The Underworld is also referred to as Hades. Unlike most of the gods, Hades rarely interfered with mortals (unless they tried to cheat death).
Linda Hunt is Gaia.. She did the voicing in the video-game, i'll keep her.
In Greek mythology, Gaia was the primal goddess personifying the earth. She was a primordial and chthonic ancient deity and was considered the Mother Goddess of all life. She was born of Chaos, arising as the everlasting foundation of the gods of Olympus. She created the god Ouranos, the starry sky, who was also her equal, to cover her, the hills, and the fruitless deep of the sea, Pontus. Together they created Oceanus, Coeus, Crius, and the Titans Hyperion and Iapetus, Theia and Rhea, Themis, Mnemosyne, and Phoebe of the golden crown, and Tethys. After them was born Cronos, the wily, youngest, and most terrible of her children, who hated his sire. She is not a titan herself.
Brendan Gleeson is Ares {kinda looks like him}
Ares is the God of War, son of Zeus and one of the most prominent Gods of Olympus. He also was a rival of Athena, his sister. His Roman counterpart was Mars, although Mars was held in much higher esteem, second only to Jupiter. During his service to Ares, Kratos killed countless lives with his Spartan companions, conquering most of Greece. Ares, determined to make Kratos the perfect warrior, led Kratos to attack a village built in honor and worship towards Athena. The Spartan soldiers ruthlessly killed all who lived in the village, burning their homes to the ground in the process. Upon reaching a strange temple, Kratos was warned by the Village Oracle not to venture within its walls. Ignoring the old woman, Kratos, blinded by bloodlust, killed all who were within the walls of the temple, including his wife and child. Ares appeared before the bloodstained hands of Kratos, telling Kratos that it was necessary to have his family eliminated so nothing stood in his way.
The ashes of his loved ones were gathered by the Village Oracle as she placed them upon Kratos’ skin as a permanent reminder of the monster he had become – the Ghost of Sparta. Enraged by Ares' deception, Kratos declared vengeance upon the god who once saved his life, and served Olympus for 10 years, hoping to redeem himself and be forgiven of his sins.
Michael Clarke Duncan is Atlas {He voiced him in the video game..I'm keeping him!}
In Greek myth, Atlas was the Titan who was forced to forever stand atop Mount Atlas and hold the sky (not Earth) on his shoulders, as punishment for leading the Titans in the war. He seperates the underworld from the heavens. In the God of War series, there is given a prime example of misconception (whether it was deliberate or a mistake is unknown) as Atlas is seen holding up the world atop of the Underworld.
One reason for this could be to avoid confusion; in western society, the word 'atlas' is most commonly associated with cartography, so it would make sense for the Titan to hold the Earth rather than the Heavens.
Angelina Jolie is Athena
Throughout the series, Athena serves as the main godly ally of Kratos. She watches over him, guides him, and protects him. After Ares tricked Kratos into murdering his family, Athena became Kratos's refuge. In exchange for years of service, she promised to purify him of his past crimes. It was she who often told Kratos of tasks the gods wanted him to perform, frequently speaking with the Ghost of Sparta through statues in her own image.
Here is one more shot of Jolie
Iv'e included screenshot's of Gameplay and other villians that ought to be in the movie also.
