Help Cast Tony Stark In "The Invincible Iron Man" Fan Cast!

Comment on the article which of these six actors should play Tony Stark/Iron Man in my new fan cast!

For my next fan cast, "The Invincible Iron Man", I have put together six actors to play Tony Stark and I want you all too choose who will be cast in the role in my next fan cast. Because I am differentiating this from the Iron Man films, I do not and will not include Robert Downey Jr. This is a different take.

HERE ARE THE CANDIDATES:

- Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Inception, 50/50)
- Bradley Cooper (Limitless, The Hangover)
- James Franco (Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Spider-Man)
- Karl Urban (Lord of the Rings, Star Trek)
- Josh Hartnett (Singularity, 30 Days of Night)
- Josh Duhamel (Transformers, Life as We Know It)

This fan cast will be set in the same continuity as my Fantastic Four fan cast.

Robert Downey Jr. can't be replaced at all. He is Tony Stark also I don't like any of your picks.

Yeah, I agree. None of this picks could touch Downey's performance as Tony Stark. Not to say they aren't good actors, but just not right for Ironman IMO.

I agree, that Robert Downey Jr. is the best Iron Man....I am having a hard time with who would be best here...Maybe Josh Duhamel?

James Franco; he is by far the closest to being able to make a convincing Tony Stark on par to RDJ.

Not that I think that RDJ is irreplaceable, but I say no to all of these guys.

Yes, Robert Downey Jr. is indeed irreplaceable...but he's old and getting older. No matter how committed he is that he will not stop unless the fans want him to, I believe he won't be able to fill the role for that long time anymore.

BUT hey, this is for his fan cast, anyway! Though still, I don't know. I can't decide, because (sorry!), none of them is a good candidate for a Tony Stark. Probably Josh Hartnett, but if I may suggest, try picking Luke Evans, probably. It's really hard to choose another good actor for Tony Stark while we still have Robert Downey Jr. in the shoes.

Hi guys as a first time poster please dont be too harsh on your rebuttles....im from south africa by the way,love this site...in all honesty has anyone ever considered Stuart Townsand for the part after RDJ. While the movie sucked, his performance in LXG was good, charming, dark,dangerous he has the acting chops to pull it off. Also since he is no means in indemand actor, Marvel would get a greatfull out of work actor, similia to when Downey got the part & blew our socks off...thin about it

Bradley Cooper would make a fantastic younger Stark! Not that I would ever want Downey to quit the role, but if he had to be replace, Cooper would be my number 1 choice. He was great in Limitless, he does a suave smartass fantastically.
