How will Mysterio adapt to the big screen?

How will Mysterio, the Master of Illusions, translate to the big screen? I have an idea that will make the Fishbowl Foe the most Powerful viilian in a Spider-man movie ever.

Mysterio is a major villain in the Spider-man universe and has become popular recently from his incarnation in the Spectacular Spider-man cartoon and the Ultimate comics. If he would be translated to screen, I feel this will be the best way of translating him, making him one of the most powerful foes Spidey has ever faced.Quentin Beck, a special effects creator works for a major Hollywood studio with dreams of making a name for himself in the film industry. However, he came to see his career in special effects as a dead-end job and his attempts to become an actor were poorly received.Quentin's creativity holds no bonds, but he still doesn't get respect from greedy Hollywood execs.

While walking home feeling sorry for himself, he sees someone following him. This happens multiple times and he turns around and confronts the person. The individual is a mystic, and is a part of a mystic brotherhood. He tells Beck that he senses he is very creative and that he holds power within himself that he does not know. The man also tells him about the brotherhood and Beck is intrigued. Beck goes to a meeting and finds out they have been watching him for a long time and that they feel that he is the chosen one to lead their brotherhood. Beck sees what they can do and is shocked. He asks them to teach him and they go through rituals that makes Beck powerful.Beck is given creative power,meaning anything he creates in his mind exists for the moment in time.He creates real matter, with these abilities and with his limitless creativity, no one is a match for him.

Quentin feels he is bigger than the brotherhood, so one night he sets up a meeting with his fellow mystics and kills them all with his magic. Not knowing one of them escapes. Beck gets revenge on everyone he knows from childhood to the movie industry. And goes one a crime spree like no other. Spider-man gets involved and does not believe what he is seeing. He witnesses Mysterio multiply himself, appear and reappear, and creates powerful creatures with his mind. Spider-man fights these creatures and almost loses his life. Spider-man feels this guy is the most powerful foe he has every faced,and tries to divulge a plan to get to him. Spidey fights Mysterio again and Mysterio uses his most powerful and grandest magic, he makes and army of gargoyles to fight Spider-man. and the U.S army, were called because of the threat. Spider-man is tattered and torn and sees Mysterio stagger and get weak, when spider-man sees this he throws a spidey tracer on him and he vanishes, also his creations with him.

Spidey is at home and is tracking where Mysterio's hideout is. Spidey swings off and sees a man standing on roof of a building, baiting to him. Spidey feels and undeniable urge to speak to him. Spidey meets him and it is the mystic that escaped from the killing of the brotherhood. The Mystic tells Spider-man that he knows he is tracking Mysterio and that Mysterio is not all powerful. He tells spider-man that the more magic he makes the more tired and fatigue he gets. if you get him fatigue enough you can beat him. Spidey connects the dots on how he saw Mysterio look weak in their last battle. The mystic told Spider-man only he can do it, because mysterio is too powerful. "I will help you distract him." They go to Mysterio's hideout and Beck is sleeping. The mystic tells spider-man that also as a mystic if you do great magic you need 24 hrs of sleep to replenish. Spiderman goes to pounce on Beck, and he vanishes. It was a trick and Mysterio and the mystic battle while spidey battles other creations. The mystic gets beaten and Mysterio is about to kill him, the mystic says "It's all on you spider-man!" and vanishes.

Spidey uses his spider-sense to find the real Beck/Mysterio. Through a lot of trial and error and battle, he finds him while he is fatigue and busts his fishbowl wide open. Spidey calls the authorities and the mystic shows back up and tells the authorities what is needed to keep him imprisoned. They keep Beck in a maximum security prison, sedated like a vegetable, so he won't use his magic. And they go to the mystic time to time for counsel about his immediate threat.

This is how I feel Mysterio should be portrayed, with real magic that you feel and can get hurt by. Then just illusion you just pass through. it makes it more of a real threat and action/adventure based. Mysterio can make am army of anything and do anything, but there is a limit to his power, he gets fatigued and has to get rest. Making him a beatable foe.I feel he should be the last villain in the franchise being the most powerful and visually stunning villain of all-time.

And when the Sinister Six come out and are led by Doc Ock, Ock gets all the information about Beck and breaks him out, joining the Sinister Six as the last member, to bring chaos to Peter Parker/Spider man's life.

This is a new marvel movie adaption series that I am doing.

Levi's idea (no offense, SpideyTrav) sounds better. Personally, villains like Electro, Rhino, Mysterio, Sandman, Scorpion, ect. need a update and just an overall change from their comicbook counterparts cause as characters, they aren't even close to interesting. Petty thugs work if they don't ever gain superpowers (ala, The Joker). I love how they're making Electro for TASM 2 different from his comicbook counter part. While, he's not the Electro everyone is use to, he definitley sounds a hell of a lot interesting. Rhino, is just going to all around suck unless someone makes him more than muscle. Brains for the character would be nice too.

@LEVITIKUZ

Love the idea!! Especially the Freddy Krueger part. I suggest checking out a story called Guardian Devil which features Mysterio playing mind games on Daredevil about the antichrist and what not. It's awesome.

I love the idea of a mysterio causing a psychological thriller. I just got all excited right now!

@SpidaTrav

Just to clarify, I didn't mean mind games as in weird dreams or imaginary hallucinations or mind control. Those are kinda weird. I just mean an elaborate plot that makes you question how everything fits in together - kinda like the Guardian Devil storyline that I meantioned earlier.

A physical threat is indeed cool because you need a way to involve Mysterio in a fight scene. While I do think that he should possess a level of fighting prowess or ability with magic, I don't think that should be the main threat with Mysterio.

Lizard was scary because he was a low level version of hulk. Kraven is scary because he is VERY VERY adept in fighting and tracking. Rhino is an unstoppable and rampant mass of hulking destruction. Those, to me, are Spidey's worst physical threats.

Mysterio falls more into the "mastermind" category along with the likes of Kingpin. Again, that doesn't mean he should be limited to trickery. There are other masterminds who pose both a physical and emotional threat like Green Goblin. Yet, the selling point of Green Goblin as a hazard is his ability to affect Spider-Man on a personal level.

That's how I think Mysterio should play out: A decent combatant with the high danger of psychological mayhem. I don't think physicality should be the focal point of his capabilities as he isn't as big and strong as the likes of Rhino.

But to each his own, brutha :) You have neat ideas and I respect how you want things to play out.

@Soto: Dude, get off my ass. I can't have an opinion on Rhino but everyone else can about Shailene Woodley as Mary Jane? That's [frick]ed up. I will say what I want. Rhino is a shit villain. That's how I feel. Rhino in TASM 2 is a mistake. Don't tell me not to judge when I'm voicing my opinion like everyone else including you. You are just like everyone else on this site are just pissed cause I'm a vocal supporter of TASM. If you can't accept it then just ignore the shit I say on this site. Cause that's like me constantly judging you and getting after you for being a supporter of Kevin Tancharoen.

I don't try to take shit seriously but it does get annoying after awhile when I get crapped on by people who do the same shit. EVERYONE, Including you have voiced an opinion about a movie that's not even released yet. Shit, for all we know, Ninja Turtles could be good. But, everyone disses on Michael Bay so therefore, Ninja Turtles to many is automatically shit. Also, what does age have to do with anything? Sure, I like TASM but, I also like the original trilogy as well. Not to mention my favorite movies are: Jurassic Park, Lincoln, Gladiator, Zodiac and Warrior.

I don't mind change but, Tancharoen writing and directing Mortal Kombat is bad. It's not Mortal Kombat in my eyes. Just like in the eyes of many, Nolan's Batman isn't Batman and Raimi's Spider-Man isn't Spider-Man. I never watched the shows but, yea I like the original movie cause it showed Mortal Kombat is more than blood and gore. As I said, I don't mind change but Tancharoen isn't a good fit from the looks of Season 2. I love Mortal Kombat as much as the next guy but, opinions are opinions. Saying that they're invalid is immaure (I say that in case you are one to say they are) and I'm saying if you respect my opinion, I'll respect yours. Just because I'm 17, doesn't instantly mean I have no idea what I'm talking about. I had and still do have an imagination. Shit, that's one of my favorite things about movies. It helps expand my imagination more than I could have hoped for.

I'm one who likes Michael Bay movies. Who goes to the movies to think? Movies are your imagination expanded into a greater story and a good time to turn off your brain and just enjoy. Also, what's the problem of keeping the basic premise of the games? Basic backstory for the characters? All Tancharoen has done is Nolanize everything (yes, I like the Nolan Bat trilogy but, it's the best way I could explain it). Seriously, you called me little boy? Really? You're nowhere near my father. Therefore, you have no reason o call me that. I'm not a whiner, I'm not a troll. I just stated things. You're the one (in my eyes) that is bitching and moaning about my dislike for Rhino and Electro and judging by the character of Rhino and everything that we know is going on and all the characters, it's just logic that Rhino doesn't seem like a good fit. Not to mention the fact that a Spider-Man movie (In my OPINION) wouldn't benefit from Rhino being the villain. Sorry that you didn't understand the word "Opinion".

Also, why bitch about the original Mortal Kombat when, it's a different take on the characters. I thought that was okay. It's okay for Lui Kang to possibly join Shang Tsung (speculating from the Season 2 trailer) but, not okay for him to not believe in the Shaolin or Raiden? Wouldn't that be a little hypocritical of you? Just curious.

Does anyone think we should have a Spider-man movie based on a mob like villain, like Tombstone and Hammerhead. They could hire the frightful four: Mysterio, Shocker, Vulture and Trapster

I remember in Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions Mysterio gained real magic powers. Maybe they'll do that later in a movie.
