How would the Chameleon adapt to the big screen?

How would the Master of Disguise, the Chameleon, be adapted to the big screen? I have an idea that would make the man of many faces more than what you bargained for.

The Chameleon was born a Soviet citizen named Dmitri Smerdyakov. In his youth, he was a servant and half-brother to Kraven the Hunter. Eventually, Smerdyakov emigrated to the United States of America. As he had made a talent for himself during his youth, impressing his brother by impersonating friends and neighbors, he assumed an even more impressive disguise: the identity of the Chameleon. The Chameleon inspired Kraven the Hunter to begin hunting Spider-Man, inviting Kraven to dispose of the hero.
If the Chameleon was adapted to the big screen, this is how I would do it.

Dmitri Smerdyakov enlists in the russian army and is a perfect marksman and accomplished athlete. Dmitri is also known for his love for theater in the camp and playing different characters. A secret government project is underway and respected russian scientists need volunteers. The project is called code name:Chameleon, and Dmitri is interested. He is told that they are making a super spy and that advanced microscopic computer chips would be implanted in his eyes and brain, also nanobytes will be inplanted in his skin, changing it's color. Dmitri thinks it over for a minute, and while he is thinking it over, the other volunteers are told and they walk out.Dmitri feels no one cares about him so he has nothing to lose. He always wanted to be a super spy and also do something for his country.

They proceed with the super spy experiment. During the experiment, Dmitri loses his hair. Starting to realize from this day forward life will not be the same he embraces his metamorphisis. Dmitri skin has changed to pure white, and a suit is created to work with the chips in his brain, eyes and the nanobytes that are in his skin. The suit is a working computer and has a state of the art camera with hi-tech imagery and hologram tech. Dmitri is estatic and wonders what he can do. The scientists tell him to point the camera that is on his belt at him and scan.Dmitri does it and sees programs downloading through his eyes.Suddenly his face and skin color starts to change as well as his clothes. He and the scientist are identical.Dmitri is amazed as well as the scientist. The scientist tells him to change back and delete the file. Dmitri changes back but does not delete the file.

Dmitri codename is Chameleon and he is sent on missions form the russian government to steal secrets and assasinate government officals in international countries.Dmitri is known as a international terrorist and is wanted by the FBI and the CIA and is considered a major threat.Dmitri is tired of working for other people and tries to go in business for himself. He makes a pact with the russian mafia and they want him to do a major hit, that would make him a made man.Not knowing what the job intailed, he goes back to the russian government and talks to the scientist that created him. He asks him are there any other suits like the one I have. The scientist tells him yes we have ten of them."They are too expensive and there may never be another like them or like you." Dmitri tells him"There will never be another like me." Dmitri turns into the scientist and kills him and takes the ten suits and walks out undetected. Chameleon (looking at the suits)"There will never be another like me."

Dmitri meets with the russian mafia about the big hit he suppose to make. The mafia tells him to make a hit on a guy that made a deal with them and backed out. "You have to fly to the U.S. for this one, his name is the Kingpin." They throw a picture on the table of Wilson Fisk. Chameleon says"America here I come." The Chameleon flies to America and finds everything he can about Wilson Fisk and his organization. The Chameleon changes into a member of Kingpin's crew step by step killing each one. Finally getting to Kingpin. Kingpin asks Chameleon a question only the person he is mimicking will know.Chameleon fails to answer correctly and Kingpin pounces on him and Chameleon turns back to his original form. Kingpin asks him who sent him and Chameleon tells him. Kingpin makes a deal with the Chameleon that is greater than any offer he has ever had. Kingpin will give him his own crew to lead with benefis. Just don't cross him, and go back and kill the russian mafia.

The Chameleon agrees to Kingpin's deal, and flies back to russia with his new guys and kills the russian mafia. Chameleon laughs and says " America, the land of opportunity.""God Blees of America." They fly back to the U.S.A and start their first crime spree. Spiderman gets in the way and follows the crew to there hide out and they fight. The Chameleon is there and fires upon spiderman. Spiderman is amazed at Chameleon's accuracy, while dodging the bullets. Chameleon changes into spidey and asks him "Do you know what you are dealing with?" Spidey says "No, but it looks pretty handsome." Chameleon fires upon spidey and runs out of bullets and escapes. There is a crowd of bystanders by the warehouse and Chameleon turns into a woman and runs off. Spiderman leaps out and doesn't see the Chameleon and is shocked by what he saw and how he vanished.

Chameleon meets back up with the Kingpin. The Kingpin tells him about spiderman and how he has been a thorn in his side for years and that he better be careful of him, and that he has his own organization now. Don't bother him again. Kingpin gives him a great crew, and tells him to leave. Chameleon leaves and says "First Spiderman, then the Kingpin, and then,

The World.

That's one hell of a back story you have come up with but I can't see Sony and Webb investing that much screen time and back story to the character.

Spider-man is a huge summer pop corn flick. His villains are always going to reflect that type of spectacle and can be just as marketable.

Chameleon is an espionage villain and definitely could add drama to the story but he's just not made for the big action set pieces that a film like Spider-man is made for.

I thought he could be used as a minor character. Like minor, MINOR. Open the movie with a big fight scene between Spidey and the Chameleon, and have Spider-Man defeat him at the end. Just to show Spidey's kicking some asses between movies.

My idea was to use him as some sort of big cameo from Spidey's rogue gallerie, but i'm all for using a villain to its full potential too. I always liked Kraven from that VHS my mom got me as a kid with the Kraven episode, so a Kraven and Chameleon movie will get my ticket. And most probably my DVD money.

Chameleon has already been on the bigscreen. He fought Harry Potter.
