JAWS: The Remake of The Classic Fan Cast

JAWS: The Remake of The Classic Fan Cast

Jaws is considered by many to be a classic, but with the trend of Hollywood remaking many great films, it's bound to happen with Jaws. Hit the jump to find out who I would cast in a Jaws remake.

Jaws with great respects is a classic and still is till today. Widely known of the film is the Jaws theme which has become popular everywhere. Unfortunately like many great films, Jaws suffered from an amount of very poor sequels. It's been many years since then we have seen a Jaws film, but with the trend of Hollywood bringing back many great franchises such as Godzilla, Jaws could possibly be around the corner. And without further introduction, here is my fan cast for a remake of Jaws if it was ever to happen. I will outline who I want as the producers, director, writer and composer first. I also greatly hope someone from Hollywood would come across this article on Google and make this dream really happen, so fingers crossed. So in the great almighty spoken words of Benedict Cumberbatch, shall we begin?

THE PRODUCERS

Steven Spielberg and Michael Bay - We obviously can't make this remake perfect without bringing in the original director for creative help which is where Spielberg comes in. Michael Bay in the partnership may seem strange but he is experienced in Hollywood and owns his own movie company Platinum Dunes which has released horror remakes such as Friday The 13th.

THE DIRECTOR

Brett Ratner - I know some of you hate him, but what you hate him for isn't entirely his fault. Ratner in true aspects is an experienced director having made great films such as Red Dragon and the comedic classic Rush Hour. You don't need an experienced action director to direct Jaws which is where Ratner comes in. He is more in the middle of the road and can handle both the dramatic and tense elements where needed in the film perfectly.

THE WRITER

Adam Mckay - You may think, but McKay only writes comedy!? Are you insane!? But how do we know he can only write comedy? I think we need a writer that's newer to the field of drama and tension to help keep it fresh. Marvel recently hired McKay to rewrite parts of the Ant-Man script so there is his experience.

AND THE MUSIC COMPOSERS

Hans Zimmer and Skrillex - This would be the perfect duo for a film like this. Imagine Hans Zimmer quiet score in the background as Jaws is coming then suddenly the sound of silent wubs slowly rising in great suspense and BAM the music distorts and goes into the Zimmer faze. This would be an interesting combination and don't hate Skrillex. Skrillex had a song featured in the acclaimed Disney film Wreck it Ralph. Skrillex is also going to contribute to part of the sound featured in Transformers 4. So clearly he is moving up in Hollywood now.

AND NOW THE STARRING MAIN FEATURE CAST OF JAWS: THE REMAKE

WILL SMITH AS MARTIN BRODY

Will Smith is a fantastic actor and having starred in so many dramatic roles this would be perfect for him to take a lead in a film such as this. For those who are saying race would be a strong issue he did also star in I Am Legend which was a remake of The Omega Man which had a white lead. His emotions and behavior will fit that of the character perfectly.

MEGAN FOX AS ELLEN BRODY

She is a great actress and would be amazing in this role. Ellen Brody's role should be more expanded in more of a center lead because she is the wife and the main female lead the female audiences need to latch on and to draw in the male audiences. I think Will Smith and Megan Fox will have a perfect chemistry relationship on the screen. Plus in my idea Michael Bay is producing and Megan Fox has worked with him before which is why she should feel very comfortable even more.

JADEN SMITH AS MICHAEL BRODY

Michael Brody, Martin Brody's son never really had much of a role in the first Jaws but in the remake my idea is that his role should be greatly expanded. Plus it's Jaden Smith and he needs a lot of screen time with his pop.

JOHNNY KNOXVILLE AS MATT HOOPER

Matt Hooper was this guy who was hired by Martin Brody and he studied the ocean and stuff.  Johnny Knoxville wears glasses and looks very intelligent for the role. He can definitely pass as someone who likes to study oceans.

DANNY TREJO AS QUINT

Quint is this veteran shark hunter who was recruited by Martin Brody. Danny Trejo would be awesome in this role and could definitely pass in this.

GARY BUSEY AS MAYOR LARRY VAUGHN

Cause he is Gary Busey.

TARA REID AS THE VOICE OF JAWS

Jaws needs to have a voice of some kind. All animals need to have a voice and I picked Tara Reid to voice Jaws and also possibly give a 100% likeliness to the face of the character. Jaws is a gentle animal and spirit who needs to be voice by another gentle spirit like Tara Reid. Plus Tara Reid stared in the fan favorite film Sharknado so she clearly has experience with real life killer sharks.

REBEL WILSON AS CHRISTIE WATKINS

This is one of the most important roles in the original as she is the first victim of Jaws which sets off the events of the entire movie.  Also she has scene in the beginning of the film where she is skinny dipping! Wouldn't everybody love to see that?

If Michael Bay is behind this Jaws should be able to shoot lasers from his eyes and fire rockets out of his mouth.

I'd Michael Bay made Jaws the great white shark would be a redneck that always eats black fish first. Then there's be a shark that's substantially darker than the others that sounded like he was straight outta compton that only ate white fish.

We'd also see shark dick followed by the shark bumping the boat. That's when one of the characters says "We're gonna need a bigger boat".

I don't know if you realized with that other fan cast, but my name was kinda in the article title if you couldn't read. I kinda really worked my butt off long hard hours on that plus mostly all the descriptions and most of the creative casting decisions involved.

@jacky

I understand your involvement but I had assumed more of a mentor/mentee situation. I apologize for not fully recognizing how much of the work was truly your hand.
