JComicFan-Batman Beyond Fan Cast

The second way they could continue the Batman series

A couple of days ago I put up my Dark Knight Returns fan cast. It got a mixed reception and if you haven't checked it out please do.

Anyway the second idea I have on what they can do with the Batman franchise is to adapts the great television series BATMAN BEYOND. Years ago they considered doing a movie version but it was scrapped for Batman Begins. So here's who I think could play the roles.

Thomas Dekker as Terry McGinnis/Batman

Thomas Dekker is a pretty good actor and has played a great tough and troubled youth before as John Connor in the short lived television series TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES.

Clint Eastwood as Bruce Wayne

He is the most popular, and quite honestly the best choice. I don't know if he'd do it, but if he did he'd be great. He's great at playing old, tough, and bitter characters. A perfect example is his character in GRAN TORINO as a bitter old man, but is still a good person.

Glenn Close as Barbara Gordon

She is a good actress who seems right for the part.

Annette O'Toole as Mary McGinnis

This is similar to her role as Martha Kent in SMALLVILLE as the hero's caring mother, but she'd be just perfect for the role.

Bryan Cranston as Warren McGinnis

Quite simply he's a good actor and would do a good job.

John DeVito as Matt McGinnis

Finding an actor for Matt was hard, but I decided on John DeVito since he played the even younger John Connor in TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES. He looks like he could pull off playing Thomas Dekker's younger brother.

Lin Yifei as Dana Tan

Quite simply I liker her and think she'd be good in the role.

Dana Davis as Maxine "Max" Gibson

Pretty much the same as Lin Yifei as Dana.

Samuel L. Jackson as Sam Young

Everyone knows how great of an actor Sam Jackson is, and he definitely also looks the part.

Hugo Weaving as Derek Powers/Blight

A great actor, who really excels at playing villains. Just watch him as Agent Smith in THE MATRIX TRILOGY. He was my pick to play Norman Osborn in the Spider-Man reboot, but that probably won't happen since he's playing the Red Skull in the upcoming Captain America film. But hopefully he could play Blight if they ever make a BATMAN BEYOND movie.

Dwayne Johnson as Mr. Fixx

He used to be in action roles, but then decided to go down the family film route. But who's to say he can't do a more mature film again. He was pretty menacing as the Scorpion King in THE MUMMY RETURNS, and definitely has the build for the role.

Moon Bloodgood as Inque

I don't know what it is about her, but she just seems like she could play the seductive and deadly super villain.

Ray Park as Walter Shreeve/Shriek

He's played good villain in the past, specifically Darth Maul in THE PHANTOM MENACE and Toad in X-Men. But I think it would be interesting to see him tackle this role as well.

Maggie Q as Curaré

She has the martial arts skills required, and just seems all around perfect for the part.

Adam Baldwin as Mad Stan
]
He just seems like he'd be good in the tough maniacal part.

Matthew Gray Gubler as Ira Billings/Spellbinder

Seeing him as Spencer Reid in the television series CRIMINAL MINDS tells me that he could play this more intellectual villain.

Henry Cavill as Paxton Powers

I know that I've used this answer several times before, but he just seems right for the part.

Adrien Brody as The Joker

I don't know how people are going to react to this. Adrien Brody was a contender to play the Joker in THE DARK KNIGHT before the role was given to Heath Ledger. He acknowledges how great Heath was, but says he thinks it would have been a great role to play. And I think he'd do a great job, so why not give him the opportunity.

So that's my cast for BATMAN BEYOND. What did you think of it? Who would you cast?
