Hello fellow CBMers! Resident CBMer LP4 here to make an article different from my usual ones. This time I will examine two popular supervillains- one from Marvel and the other from DC.

RED SKULL

Powers and Abilities:

Cloned body of Captain America (including the Super-Soldier formula);
skilled hand-to-hand combatant, strategic genius, political mastermind, expert marksman
(Maxon's) Skilled saboteur, hand-to-hand combatant, marksman
(Malik's) Strategic master, political master
(Earth Cosmic Red Skull/Johan Schmidt) Genius level Intellect, Expert Combatant, Regenerative. a fine unarmed combatant and master of disguise. He possesses a keen mind at military, political, corporate and subversive strategies. The Red Skull's most infamous weapon was his so-called "dust of death."

LEX LUTHOR

Powers and Abilities:

Genius-level Intellect, Power-suit enables- super strength, durability, flight, force field generation all across the armor and seemingly unprotected head from the torso of the powered armor, Kryptonite energy blasts, energy blade in right gauntlet.
Blue energy blasts from left gauntlet (which went clean through Starfire's right shoulder), super strength and durability, and energy shield in the left gauntlet.
Flight at super speed due to jets in boots, and electrical surge generated across armor by pressing button on left palm.

I left out most of Lex Luthor's other abilities from the battlesuit since most of the other attacks revolve around the use of different colored Kryptonites and obviously kryptonite is useless against Red Skull.

So CBM, who wins this battle? Personally my vote goes to Lex. All bias aside, let's not forget from the book "Public Enemeies" Lex PWN'd both Superman and Batman simultaneously with his battlesuit on. I know Red Skull is tough and all but I don't see him being able to take down Superman/Batman the way Lex did. Plus, Lex has also experimented on himself with super-soldier type of liquids in his body and he's taken down Batman! Batman and Cap are almost on par with each other (slight edge to Cap America though) I'd say both are nearly-equal intellect-wise...but Lex Luthor being a level-12 intellect gives him the edge. Physicality wise...in a hand-to-hand fight I'm giving a slight-edge to Lex. Without the battle-suit I'd say Red Skull definitely.

Now i know I'm going to face a TON of heat for my personal view on the outcome of the fight. But eh...it was just my personal opinion on the matter. I'm pretty sure about 90% of the comments will be more in favor of Johan Schmidt pulling a victory. And that is totally cool with me. Either way both villains are awesome. But Lex Luthor is...well...HE'S THE FU*KING MAN! ;D

Plus he's my favorite supervillain of all-time.

@Superguy- hahaha great to see ya bud! yeah i pit these two against each other because aside from their physical similarities they are pretty similar in many aspects.

But yeah dude- LUTHOR IS THE [frick]ING MAN!!!

@Coolio Vids- Thanks man! I think he'd win too! I mean, Luthor won't go into the battle without his battlesuit. WHY would he? lol.

It would make as much sense as a soldier going into the battle without his helmet, LOL.

Lex will wear the battlesuit AND with it on he'll trounce Red Skull. Skull should've gone down in the 1940's with the rest of his nazi friends ;D

Red Skull won't go in to battle with out the cosmic cube. WHY would he?.

If it did come to fist fight luthor would win, but red skull aint a easy nazi bastard to kill. Just when you think the [frick]ers dead he comes bacj some how but yeah I would give it to luthor if it was just fist fight.

@Hellsing- Thanks for the input bud! I'm trying to keep this editorial alive hahahahaha. But yeah, i see your point. Red Skull always goes to a different body!

But I don't know...something just tells me Lex will win. I mean like you said- hand to hand it should go to Lex.

Plus Lex Luthor is a level 12-intellect!

his only equal intellect-wise is Brainiac.

I doubt Red Skull is anywhere near that.

@earz- hahaha true my friend. Doom almost took over the entire MU.

The last picture i posted...that's Lex after he finished off Skull ;D

I have to say Red Skull here; unlike Luthor, he actually succeeded at "killing" his arch enemy many times, whether it is by his own hands or through his henchmen.
Luthor came close, but only failed in the end (villains that are not Luthor manage to "kill" his enemy).

Now, other than that, Red Skull does surpass Luthor in fighting abilities. And since their intellects are pretty much the same, the only way Luthor can beat Skull is through his battle suit (up until Skull pulls out the freaking Cosmic Cube).

Seriously, what can suit do against a cube that can allow you to do whatever the [frick] you want!

@BigK- True, but don't forget. Luthor had gotten his hands one time on the Anti-life equation, able to make anyone in the universe his slaves. That is the ULTIMATE power even Darkseid wishes to attain.

Luthor with Anti-life Equation PWNS Red Skull with cube thing. lol

@LP4 Thanos wanted the Cosmic Cube to control the universe and at the same time woo Death herself; and let us not forget that guy is a powerful dick in the Marvel Universe (with or without the Infinity Gauntlet).

If someone more powerful than Darkseid, like Thanos, want the cosmic cube; than pretty much the Skull has a more powerful weapon (he can just will the cube to make Luthor forget the Anti-Life Equation). :P

@BigK- Wait, Darkseid BEAT Thanos in "Last Man Standing" and Thanos being a rippoff of Darkseid, gotta go with the original in terms of sheer POWER.

Darkseid wants the anti-life equation so he can rule the universe too.

I've still gotta lean towards Lex. lol. I wish i could have read the amalgam comics where Lex and Skull merged together to become- The Green Skull, lol. Skull's head with Lex's face and business suit.

Pretty cool shit.

@LP4 Well I for one still think Red Skull can beat Luthor any day; and technically speaking, they both would wear a business suit no matter what mythos they are in.

The one question I wonder myself over the Green Skull is: How can he still be alive if his whole face is made of kyrptonite? I know, the Skull's face is red; but that is facial disfigurement, the other skull literally have kyrptonite for a face!
Last time a check, prolong exposure to kryptonite can give a cancerous side effect to human; much like Kryptonians, only later.

Both are [frick]ing awesome villains! But yeah Lex would beat Skull in both math and fist fight!:) If he doesnt have the power suit he most definitely looses the fist fight!

@BigK- Dude, was his head really made of Green-K? I had no idea, I knew it was green but I just thought it was green to metaphorically represent Lex Luthor's love of money and money= GREEN, LOL.

@Superguy- hahahaha thanks dude! Dude we gotta keep fighting for Lex! No one else is!!! ;D

@JustAlex- Hahaha Lex is a pretty good fighter even without the suit
BigK1337
BigK1337 - 5/6/2011, 12:05 PM
@LP4 Nope, pure kryptonite. It would be silly for his head to be green and not have a radioactive property behind, especially the fact he is supposed to be the arh nemisis of Super Soldier.

@BigK- Right...it makes sense yeah. Damn, such a huge Superman-fan surprised i missed that, LOL.

But yeah, I think sometimes I look too deeply into comics. Green-k made sense. Plus combining Lex and Skull made sense...
