Been awhile since I posted on here, or well it feels like awhile. I was going through a very depressed home life. Anyways, Man of Steel is the start of the DC Cinematic Universe. Believe it DC fans, your world is coming and it's going to give Marvel a run for it's money (I'm a fan of friendly competition, prime example being Marvel vs DC). Let's go through certain spots of the trailer and I'll give it a rundown of my thoughts.
Krypton
I'm not complaining here. It's more like "huh, interesting" sort of thing. Krypton looks really, really good don't get me wrong. I just, when I thought of Krypton I always imagined it to look, I don't know. Just different. Anyone else think the same thing?
"Can I keep pretending I'm your son?"
Cause it was Zack Snyder, I like to think of him as the guy who directed Dawn of the Dead and Watchmen. Not, those two movies and 300, Sucker Punch and Legend of the Guardians. Cause it was David Goyer, I was thinking Blade trilogy, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance and Batman Begins (he only wrote the story for the other two, that's it). Therefore, I wasn't expecting any sort of emotional string to be tugged at with Man of Steel. When Clark said "Can I keep pretending to be your son" that was really touching and I really felt for the kid. Something I never thought I'd ever do. Clark's relationship with the world is definitely something I'm looking forward to seeing.
Reaction to a god among men
Ever since we saw the production pictures for this scene, I've been wanting to see it and honestly, it excites and intrigues me. Clark's relationship with the world is one thing but, how would the citizens of Metropolis react to a god among men? That's another story in itself that I'm again, looking forward to seeing. Especially this scene shown here.
Metropolis?
Does this look or feel more like New York to anyone besides me? Sorry but, that shot is going to bug me forever.
What the?
What is this and why does Zod need it? It's truly interesting none the less though. Questions, you leave us with questions Mr.Snyder. Obviously he wouldn't tell us but, I like that. Leaving us with questions for the movie is good but, frustrating for me. Don't ask, I just work like that. Even if we do know more about Iron Man 3 than Man of Steel, I'm not less excited. Just more excited. What are you doing Zod!?!?! Excitement and curiosity goes up. Moving on...
Desert?
Why is it in the desert? Why do you leave us with questions damn it! Seriously though, why the desert of all places he could be?
Interrogation
This scene is something to look forward to. It's not action heavy (although, I just have this feeling the final battle is going to be a half hour like The Avengers), it's not character heavy. Just two people talking. Looks like a fun scene between Superman and Lois, question as always, Why is Lois of all people there? Important to the story, I know but still.
Do my eyes deceive me?
Nope, they aren't deceiving me. That's Superman throwing a punch. Let me rephrase that for you, Superman is THROWING A [frick]ING PUNCH! Money shot of money shots right there. Excitement goes really high.
Final thoughts: Superman throws a punch. Sorry, I had to say it. Can't control myself cause it's a miracle. Anyways, my closing thoughts is that the first two minutes are slow but necessary for the understanding of the first part of the story. After that, action fest and I was for the first time, excited for this movie. The trailer as a whole was really good but, I don't think it was worth all those comments from pissed users about "Where is the god damn trailer!!" It just wasn't worth it. It was fun, interesting and the first exciting trailer for Man of Steel for me. Zack Snyder may have finally redeemed himself with a third good movie (Dawn of the Dead and Watchmen being the previous two). If you want me to stop the hate with Snyder, you may get your wish when Man of Steel a.k.a the kick start of the DC Cinematic Universe hits theaters June 14th. We'll be waiting.
What do you think of the trailer? Worth it, not worth it? Epic? Okay? DC Universe here we come? Whatever is on your mind, post it in the comments below.
