MORTAL KOMBAT FAN CAST FOR THE UPCOMING MORTAL KOMBAT MOVIE

My top twenty four mortal kombat fan cast for the upcoming mortal kombat movie produced by James Wan.

24. Shao Kahn - Dave Bautista

Bautista has had many acting experience with his career and he's improved over the years. Mortal Kombat isn't a drama, it's a story full of actions and brutal fatalities, so we don't really need Oscar worthy actors right?

23. Goro - Nathan Jones

Nathan has had small movie roles, but all his roles that I've seen usually plays a big tough character and he plays them well too. I can't think of any better man to play this tough character.

22. Kabal - Marcus Dacascos

Marcus played Raiden in the mortal legacy youtube series. But personally, I prefer him as Kabal, a former black dragon who later worked with Stryker. He has that cop look and suits long hair (watch Brotherhood of the Wolf).

21. Stryker - Gary Daniels

Kurtis Stryker is a cop with moves that'll break your bones into pieces if you resist arrest, and Gary could make those moves believable on screen. Acting wise, if the director is determined to guide the actor with his acting, then it's algood.

20. Jax - Michael Jai White

Michael is one of those martial artists who could actually act. I've seen him in a drama/love movie before and he's actually pretty good. He also played Jax in mortal kombat legacy and honestly he definitely suits the part. I hope they bring him back.

19. Sonya - Ronda Rousey

I believe Ronda debuted her acting on, Expendables 3. She might've had little dialogues but she could really work on her acting a bit more. It's not easy to make a female look badass on screen, especially if she's sharing the screen with many other more dominating male characters. So having Ronda as Sonya would definitely make Sonya stand out among the boys.

18. Nightwolf - Jason Mamoa

One of my favorite characters in the mortal kombat franchise. Jason has the looks and I think he is also part native American (correct me if I'm wrong).

17. Cyrax - Lateef Crowder

Lateef is brown, has dreadlocks and incredible athletic skills, he ticks all boxes to be Cyrax. With a great plot and the help of a great director and acting coach, he could really do Cyrax right.

16. Sektor - Daniel Dae Kim

Daniel has great acting skills and also has martial arts experience. He grew up in a tough town and his martial art trainings really came in handy.

15. Johnny Cage - Kellan Lutz

Kellan has the looks of a star and knows how to deliver awesome fight scenes. His physicality and looks also fits the role.

14. Kitana - Gina Carano

Another mixed martial artists fighter who's been in the film industry. Unlike Ronda, she's had more acting experience, and I think she's got what it takes for the role of Kitana, one of the deadliest female fighters on mortal kombat.

13. Mileena - Genevieve Cortese

Since Mileena is Kitana's twin and since my Kitana is Gina Carano, I chose someone that looks like Gina Carano. Genevieve isn't a well known actress, but she has good acting and every tv or movie she's in, had been well received by critics. She also played a demon in the tv show, Supernatural, which is something similar to the character of Mileena.

12. Bo Rai Cho - Sammo Hung

I'm a big fan of the drunken master fighting style, the way Jackie Chan did it in, The Forbidden Kingdom, was awesome, funny, entertaining and incredibly mind blowing. Sammo has had funny roles in movies before and he is a real funny guy but real talented in martial arts as well. Having him in this role would be the most perfect cast choice ever.

11. The Great Kung Lao - Jet Li

When you hear a martial art master called, 'The Great', his presence should really feel like he is the great one, and who better can play a highly skilled character. Jet Li is one of the most famous martial artist star alive, and to have his presence in this role would truly feel great.

10. Kung Lao - Iko Uwais

Ok if you don't know who this guy is, go right now and watch The Raid, and while your watching it, picture him in Kung Lao's clothes and him wearing Kung's iconic hat. This guy is literally epic to watch, and Kung Lao is one of mortal kombat's most epic fighters. He has really good acting too. I wouldn't worry about his English, pretty confident he can own it.

9. Baraka - Ray Park

This guy would be awesome in the reptile role for mortal kombat but I had someone else in mind, still I wanted Ray on my list. He's awesome in bringing characters each with unique fighting skills to the big screen, like Darth Maul, Toad etc. Baraka fights with two massive sharp sword like things sticking out of his arms, so his fighting style would be unique and Ray is undoubtedly the right person to breathe life into those moves.

8. Kenshi - Scott Adkins

When ever I see Scott Adkins fight on screen I sometimes think if his carried by ropes on set cause he can land multiple hits on a guy without even touching the ground, it's like he can defy gravity. But no, that's Scott, he's real talented, been training since a kid. Great acting too.

7. Reptile - Tony Jaa

Another martial artist star who seems to defy gravity, but this guy is on another different level with his high flying stunts, no ropes. I also thought that his unique fighting style would be suitable for the reptilian character, it'll make him stand out from the other two more popular counterparts, Subzero and Scorpion.

6. Subzero( Kuai Liang) - Kai Fung Rieck

Now this guy hasn't really had alot of opportunities for big movies. I've seen some of his martial art skills on youtube and he is real talented, the only biggest role he's done is his role in, Ninja Assassin, as Takeshi in his teenage years. He's acting as a deadly assassin was pretty decent. I was also a fan of Subzero from mortal kombat legacy and I thought Kai kinda looks like him. Maybe if they bring that guy back to play the older brother Bi Han (Subzero who became Noob Sibot) and Kai plays the young brother who is the current Subzero, and the good one, maybe it could work.

5. Scorpion - Brian Tea

The guy who played scorpion in mortal kombat legacy did a really good job, but I prefer Brian for the role on the big screen. I think he's more intimidating. Just colour out the pupil from his eyes and he'll definitely look like scorpion ready to destroy.

4. Kano - Manu Bennett

Manu definitely has the looks, physicality and has great acting skills. Since he's from New Zealand, he can definitely deliver Kano's Australian accent well. Anyone from New Zealand can do Australian accent.

3. Shang Tsung - Hiroyuki Sanada

Incredible actor. Shang Tsung is one of mortal kombat's important characters, so this role not only needs someone with martial art skills, but great acting skills as well. Hiroyuki is the right man for the job.

2. Raiden - Donnie Yen

Another famous marital artist star on the big screen. Raiden has one of the leading roles on mortal kombat, and to have someone who can carry that weight on the big screen is important. Donnie had played the main lead role many times, but his mastery and wise looks and presence just makes him suitable for this godly character.

1. Liu Kang - Philip Ng

Ok I haven't seen, Birth of the Dragon, but I can see online that it's a major flop manly because the plot was not right, but with all the negativity about the movie I never saw any complaints about Philip's acting. Judging from the trailer though, Philip definitely has the whole Liu Kang package on lock.

That's it everyone , thanks for checking out my mortal kombat fan cast. Have a good one.

@SimplyAz - Thanks man, but I don't know who to choose, I just hope whoever directs it isn't just collecting a paycheck. But if I had to choose then maybe Christopher Nolan or George Miller.

@red1994 -

Gareth Evans the Director of The Raid would be a good choice.

Great fancast!

It seems as if your story would focus on the characters and events that occur between MK 1 to MK3 (with the exceptions of Kenshi and Bo' Rai Cho). It would be very interesting to see your fancast for characters that debuted (or were heavily featured) between MK4 and MK:Armageddon (i.e. Quan Chi, Shinnok, Ashrah, Mavado, Ermac, etc)

Thank you, and yes, the events of MK1 and 2 with a good mix, and I chose Bo Rai Cho and Kenshi for epic cameos, and save the others for a possible sequel, like ermac, kintaro etc

@red1994 - Considering I've only ever heard it in racist tones, maybe chill with it. Black is plenty acceptable. Unless you're black, then I'm sorry.

@minimal - I just thought Brown is more appropriate because the skin color is literally brown. If me calling Lateef brown offended you then I greatly apologize, I am an Islander though and I have the same skin color as Lateef, and I consider myself brown in color.

@red1994 - I'm not personally offended, I just see so many white people on this site/the internet that throw around words they may not understand could offend. You're good, man. Sorry about jumping on you like that.

I pray to a new god now. You. Lol. No, this is really good. Favorite is either Daniel Dae Kim as Sektor, or Ronda as Sonya.

- Nationality be damned. I think Bautista would be interesting to see as Shao Khan. Hell, he did wonderfully in Guardians of the Galaxy.
- Nathan Jones as Goro doesn't need to be dissected.
- If Dacascos was in Mortal Kombat Legacy, he can't be in another MK-related form of media.
- I think Stryker isn't meant to be built like a wrestler. My choices would be Chris Evans, Paul Wesley, or Scott Eastwood.
- You can't really reuse actors from Mortal Kombat Legacy. So nix Michael Jai White. I would go with Mike Colter for Jax.
- Ronda Rousey stinks nowadays. And she's gotten fat. How about Katie Cassidy, seeing as she's done rather well kicking ass in Arrow the past couple seasons. She's even trained during those seasons.
- Easy casting for your Nightwolf choice.
- I believe Cyrax is of African decent, while Lateef is Brazilian.
- For some reason I see Daniel Dae-Kim as Raiden. Even better is that he knows martial arts, which I didn't know till now!
- Hmm, I'm feeling your Johnny Cage choice. Some people are lukewarm on Kellan Lutz, but he's got shit to prove. And I loved him in The Expendables. Maybe I'll use him for my Mortal Kombat cast that I'll work on soon.
- I sorta see Kitana and Mileena portrayed by a younger actress. How about Katrina Law? Talia al Ghul reminded me of both characters.
- How about someone bigger for Baraka?
- Scott Adkins is nowhere near Asian, so I can't see him as Kenshi.
- Manu Bennet's also my choice for Kano!
- I too heard of Donnie Yen. He could be good, but I'll need to see him in action.
- I think we need a younger actor for Liu Kang. How about Ludi Lin, who plays Zack in Power Rangers.

Overall, a great, if flawed cast. How about checking out my cast for my take on a Suicide Squad movie here -> https://www.comicbookmovie.com/fan_fic/mike-z-presents-suicide-squad-my-take-a145594
