1. X-Men First Class - Matthew Vaughn does a great job of revitalizing the X-men franchise by going back to basics and giving us a great story in the past during the 1960s, the cinematography, the acting, the pacing, the plot everything is just top notch, it’s a very re-watchable movie. 10 out of 10
2. Captain America The First Avenger- I must admit I have never been the biggest Captain America fan, but prior to this movie coming out I did know a thing or two about Steve Rogers while reading him in Avengers titles and reading the Ed Brubaker run. This movie is a nice blend of history and Sci-Fi and I was really impressed by how it turned out, Chris Evans does a fantastic job as Steve in my opinion, some might say he was miscast but he proved himself in my book. 9 out of 10
3. Green Lantern Emerald Knights- DC Animation brings us another animated master piece. This movie does something that has never really been done with the Green Lantern mythos before, it explores different members of the Corps and their back stories and it is well executed, great animation, good voice acting and just overall a good animated film. 9 out 10
4. Thor- I felt out of all the CBM from Marvel studio’s this one felt the most like a basic comic book plot, it’s about fantasy and coming of age type of story, despite some problems I had with this movie, mainly the lack luster action fights and the whole typical love interest side story, I feel this was a decent superhero movie, I just hope in the second movie they focus more on the gods and less time spent on earth and amp up the action, I want to see Thor really cut loose. Over all 8 out 10.

5. Batman Year One- Another DC animated adaptation and this time it’s of the well known and famous story line by Frank Miller Batman Year One. This is almost word for word frame for frame like the comic book, but it does have it's weak points. The voice acting is really inconsistent with Bruce/Batman, Ben McKenzie voice is good but it’s not perfect it’s a little whiney and he really does not know how to disguise his Batman voice from his Bruce Wayne voice like say Kevin Conroy could. Another thing is the pacing, this movie goes by considerable fast, it felt a little rushed in some areas the team really could have done more with a longer run time. Everything else is top notch; the animation is good the music score is great. Oh and more one thing, the Catwoman short while sexy, I feel it was just not needed, they could have used another lesser known character, everyone knows who Catwoman is and plus she was in the main feature, I think they put her as the short because she is going to be in the The Dark Knight Rises and she’s in Batman Arkham City (you know more hype for her as a character). I don't know how long DC/WB animation plans on making these animated movies but they really need to start branching out from just Batman,Superman and Justice League related movies. 7 out 10

6. Cowboys and Aliens- I never go around to reading the comic but I did enjoy this movie. I think this could be the start of a cool blend of genres from Hollywood if done right. My problems with this movie are, some of the southern accents are just poorly done and also the unexplained origin of very important character in the film, but the movie does a good job of teaching the characters in this story a lesson about the value of family and friendship. The special effects for the aliens are very cool and the plot is well paced and directed. 7 out 10
7. Green Lantern- This should come as no surprise, I won’t repeat what everyone has said about this movie dozens of times. DC/WB really let us down this was a chance to branch out from Batman and Superman in live action and they failed. The movie has it’s good points but not nearly enough for me to say it’s a good or decent movie, hopefully DC/WB can get it together and start producing some good movies that are not Batman related. 5 out 10

8. Transformers Dark Of The Moon- Yes I am including this, Transformers has had comics for years now and it’s counts as a CBM. Well what can I say? Like the previous films this is nothing but a brainless action movie with wooden robot characters and completely unlikable human characters. I hope the next batch of Transformers movies are a step in a completely new direction, these movies are so far off from the potential they have. Besides the action and the opening scene on cyber-tron, I can't say anything good about the movie, yes it better than the second film which is not saying much, but it still fails to become a good movie overall. 2 out 10
