My Superman Cast

comicdreamer's casting of the Superman movie!

For my second article I decide to cast Superman along with some of his supporting characters and villains. I decided to make two choices for Supes and Lex, one for older actors and another for younger actors depending on what direction the film will go. Also, people who have appeared in "Smallville" or previous Superman movies will not be options. So here it is. Please comment.

For Superman: Matthew Bomer or James Caviezel (I'm agreeing with Shaman when it comes down to Caviezel)

For Lex Luthor: Wentworth Miller or Ed Harris

For Lois Lane: Rose Mcgowen

For Jimmy Olson: Jason Mewes

For Perry White: Chazz Palminteri

For Jor-El: Anthony Hopkins or Ralph Fiens

For Brainiac: Hugo Weaving

For General Zod: Gerard Butler

For The Eradicator: David Hyde Pierce's voice

For Lobo: Jeffrey Dean Morgan

For Darkseid: Michael Clark Duncan (ofcourse)

For Steel: Tyrese Gibson

For Orion: Vin Diesel

Well guys that's it, took me forever so I hope you like. Btw, who do you guys think would be fit for Supergirl? I was thinking Lynn Collins or Jessica Alba, but I ain't sure.

For Supergirl: Lynn Collins or Jessica Alba

I'm sorry, but some of those choices aren't very good.Matthew Bomer has been associated with the role for years, but at 5'11, I think he's kinda short.James Caviezel is a good actor, but he's way too old.I also don't think he's has a good look for Superman.I like Wentworth Miller on Prison Break, but he seems to have this timid, effeminate quality to him.Nothing like Lex.Just say no to Rose McGowan in anything. No way is anyone gonna take Mewes as Jimmy.Jessica Alba as Supergirl?(Sigh)

Meh. I don't like some choices, but you got a few that I do like. Caviezel is just too old and small to play Supes.

My fav. is Hugo Weaving as Brainiac. He's my choice for that role as well.

Superman: Brandon Routh

Lex Luthor: Colm Feore

Lois Lane: Michelle Monaghan

Resurrection: I loved Routh in Superman Returns and I hope he (along with Kevin Spacey) reprises his role. But as far as I know chances of that happening are kinda slim right now. Btw; Lynn Collins would make a fine Lois Lane.

bestofdabest: Ed Harris is a fine actor, I know he would do the role justice if the great Kevin Spacey does not reprise the role.

Tyler: You're right; Jason Issacs is Sinistro. Btw, Fight Club is one of my favorite movies. ;)

To those of you complaining about Caviezel and Harris' age: I picked two actors for those roles for a reason: for a younger version and an older version.

To those wondering about Rose McGowen: I was working on it late at night and she just came into my head, but know that I think about it Lynn Collins would probably be a better fit...hhhhmmmmm... I might have to update this...

BTW: What do you guys have against Mewes?? I always thought he'd make a great modern version of Olson.

Not bad, but there is no better man for Zod than Rufus Sewell. Also I think Cuthbert would be a better Supergirl. All in all, nicely done.

NOt bad. I would perfer Brouth back. For lex it would be crazy to cast the prison break guy lol wtf? Mews is too old, Rose cant act.. at all! Jessica Alba is probably the worse actress out there right now.

Gerald Butler as General Zod? Now that would be incredible!

Hugo Weaving would be great as Brainiac but id perfer him as the riddler

Bomer is to short, bring back Routh, the more i watch superman returns the more a fan of his i become. i was originally hoping for Welling as Superman, but he's already helped ruin 1 adaptation of Superman. So BRING BACK ROUTH!

As for Lois, Erica Durance is the only good thing about Smallville these days, she portrays the character well, if she was given a good script to follow she would do even better. So i'm going with Erica Durance for Lois.

Loving Hugo as Brainiac.
The Duncan, of Course, who else!
Butler as Zod, thats cool.
Jimmy - i actually liked the guy who played him in Superman Returns.
Lex - stick with Spacey!
[frick] Steel and Orion.

Thats where i stand, nice to see someone trying to mix it up a bit, thinking outside the box. But the cast of Returns were fine, it was the script, story and directing that were shit.

the only ones i really like are miller as lex and hugo as braniac. butler as zod is not bad. thats about it. but if miller is lex then you need a younger superman than caviezal. and anthony hopkins makes no sense, much like brando didnt. if kal-el is an infant when he gets launched his parents should only be in thier 30's at the latest. can you imagine anthony hopkins having an infant son? too wierd.

Super dog @ good point about Hopkins, you do need someone younger, although it's the voice thats more important than their age, you good use the same technology they used for xavier in wolverine origins if the guy you have is quite old.

Interesting choices.

James Caviezel would make a great choice, I've been down with that since Shaman suggested it months ago...I wasn't posting on this site then but I was still reading.

Ed Harris would make an interesting Lex.

Hugo Weaving, Gerard Butler, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan would be good in those respective roles.

The rest of your casting suggestions, not feeling them.
