Much like a lot of Mark Millar’s other properties, Nemesis has been fan cast to death on this site, in particular after it was announced a movie was under way, but despite that I thought I’d give it a shot as frankly if altered slightly for a big screen adaptation it could be a pretty cool action, thriller that would give people a fresh look at the superhero or rather super villain genre in this case.
Now, with my casting choices I’ve admittedly gone with a few fan favourites here and there, but hell there are just so damn perfect for their respective roles! Despite those few choices though I’ve tried to be as unique as possible (kind of difficult as the regular choices for some of these roles have been used by many), but have stuck to some of the actors I have used in my other fan casts as quite frankly they’d be perfect in their respective roles.
Well, enough with this little introduction, below is my cast, and I hope you guys enjoy!
Nemesis – Michael Fassbender
One of my favourite actors at the moment really liked him in
Centurion and
Inglorious Basterds and he owned as young Magneto in
X-Men: First Class. End of the day he is a very talented and versatile actor, and is also my number one choice for Batman for when Bale calls it quits. I think he could undoubtedly bring that suave and savage bad ass quality to the role and help the audience support such a despicable villain.
Blake Morrow – Dennis Quaid
A pretty solid actor who also that right ‘all American’ look needed for the role. Despite that though I mainly cast him because of his roles in
the Day After Tomorrow and
Vantage Point; just thought his characters there displayed some of the characteristics Blake is known for. Alongside this though, Dennis is still in pretty good shape so could undoubtedly bring a certain sense of realism and grit to the required action scenes.
Peggy Morrow – Diane Lane
Yes I’ve overused her in my fan casts, but quite frankly she fills the necessary requirements; she’s a solid actress, hot and tough and independent. Visually she looks the part so that’s also a plus, but with the great performances she’s given in films like
Unfaithful and
Hollywoodland she’d definitely do wonders here.
Stuart Lee – Idris Elba
Another one of my favourite actors at the moment, found him entertaining in
Rock n Rolla and he was epic as Stringer Bell in
the Wire. It’s a shame he’s not going to be Alex Cross, but I look forward to seeing him alongside Fassbender in
Prometheus. Anyway, visually Idris looks the part, plus he can undoubtedly handle the physicality needed for the role as seen in
the Losers another good film in which he played a very similar character.
Howard Anderson – Tom Wilkinson
He’s a pretty good actor, liked him in
Batman Begins and
Rock n Rolla. Visually he looks the part, plus he’s pretty versatile and talented so could help keep the audience on their toes in regards to his true intentions (won’t spoil it for those of you who haven’t read the comic yet, but for those of you who have I’m guessing you catch my drift).
The President – James Caan
He played Sonny Corleone wonderfully in
the Godfather and he was fantastic in
Misery. End of the day he’s just another solid actor, admittedly he’s getting on now, but in a small role like this he could undoubtedly do well, as he also did the same role albeit in a more comedic way in
Get Smart.
The Man – Ed Harris
Another fantastic actor, really liked him in
A History of Violence, and also enjoyed his work in
the Cleaner and
the Truman Show. He just has this raw presence to him and a powerful voice that would undoubtedly help serve him well in a small role like this.
Well, that’s who I want for
Nemesis! I hope you guys enjoyed my casting choices, as always please leave me your thoughts on them, thanks!
