This cast is the continuation of “The Cast We Havre All Been Waiting For”. As all DBZ fans know after Goku defeats Vegeta the Z Fighters take flight to the home planet of Piccolo and Kami. The adventures on Namek are so pivotal to the development of DBZ and symbolic of the strength Saiyans possess. This series also starts Vegeta’s slow transformation from foe to ally and exposes Vegeta’s vulnerability. A lot of the story on Planet Vegeta will be told via flashback much like the DBZ cartoon.
MUST READ: I will not repost any ancillary characters (see The Cast We Have All Been Waiting For) I will only post the characters from the Namek Series. This cast is a mix between some acting but most importantly the ability to put together great fight scenes. Like the first fan cast a group of 5 of us came up with the cast along with many outside influences and ideas. Please feel free to leave any comments in the comment section. Thanks for reading.
Gary Odlman as Dr. Briefs
Gary Oldman is the perfect and obvious person to play Dr. Briefs he is kniwn as Dectective Gordon in the Dark Knight Series but it was his look that got him this role.
Nonso Anozie as Grand Elder Guru
Simply put he’s a solid actor and is capable of pulling off a role that requires leadership. Anozie has greatly portrayed powerful men as King Lear (William Shakespeare’s King Lear), Xaro Xhon Daxos (Game of Thrones) and Samson (The Bible). With the right makeup on his 6’6” frame he could pull of the eldest Namekian.
Peter Mensah as Nail
Nail is the most powerful Namekian on the planet Namek Guru’s most trusted warrior. His power level read 42,000 (dragonball.wikia.com) Frieza even expressed interest in wanting Nail on his side. Nail would of course fuse on his death bed with Piccolo upon Piccolo’s arrival. Mensah is the perfect person to step into that role. He is known for playing powerful warriors most notably son Spartacus as Doctre/Oenomaus so Nail is an easy role for him
Dani Dare as Dende
We needed an actor that could pull off the innocent side of Dende and who looks the part. Dare is an up and coming actor who can use this performance to propel him.
Andy On as Cui
Cui was one of Frieza’s henchmen who Vegeta destroyed easily. For this movie we want a good fight before his demise and Andy On can provide Rick Yune with the necessary skills to captivate audiences. Andy On can be seen showing off his skills in True Legend.
Joe Manganiello as Zarbon
Zarbon the pretty boy henchmen that works alongside Frieza with his partner Dadoria. Zarbon values his beauty and physical appearance more than anything. Before he transform to his beastly side his power level exceeds 22,000 but when he transform it is well over 54,000 (Dragonball.wikia.com). Joe Manganiello can step into this role and bring out the best of Zarbon he has the look and personality (Magic Mike, One Tree Hill) and he has the skills (see True Blood) to put on a good fight.
Ron Perlman as Dadoria
Dadoria is the exact opposite of his comrade Zarbon he is vicious, mean, intelligent, and very temperamental. When backed into a corner he will cower. Ron Perlman can bring out the best of Dadoria he can be the mean guy needed to make fans really hate Dadoria. He is old but Dadoria doesn’t need much face time. Perlman was chosen because of his portrayal as HellBoy and his ability to play a bad guy like he did in Driver as Nino.
Martin Klebba as Guldo
Guldo was the smallest member of the Ginyu force who uwas able to manipulate time in order to get a heads up on his opponents. Martin Klebba is perfect for Guldo.
Cam Gigandet as Jeice
Jeice is one half of the Jeice and Burter tag team. He and Burter work together to try and defeat Goku but fail. Jeice briefly works alongside Captain Ginyu before he and Vegeta engage in battle where Vegeta destroys him. Gigandet is the ideal fit for Jeice as he played the “bad boy” role in Never Back Down and Twilight.
Dave Bautista as Burter
Burter the other half of Jeice is the tallest and fastest of the Ginyu force. Like Jeice he is defeated by Goku when they try to double team him. He is ultimately killed by Vegeta after losing to Goku. Bautista (Batista) is perfect for the role he will provide the fighting skills and bad guy attitude needed to play Burter, he was good in Man with the Iron Fist as Brass Body. He will be in future films Riddick which comes out later this year (Diaz) and Guardians of the Galaxy (Drax the Destroyer) which comes out 2014.
Michael Jai White as Captain Ginyu
The leader of the elite fighting group known as the Ginyu Force, Captain Ginyu is loyal to Frieza and his soldiers. Ginyu spends a lot of his fight scenes as Goku when he swaps bodies with him. He later becomes a frog and even Bulma somtime during the saga. We will take a more serious approach to Ginyu and Goku’s battle eliminating the body swap and just put on a great fight scene. Hopefully fans will understand this approach opposed to Ginyu being Goku and Goku being Ginyu or Ginyu as a frog. Michael Jai White is an experienced Martial Artist and has a lengthy resume. He is widely known for his role as Spawn which is why he was the ideal guy for Ginyu. But his roles in movies such as Never Back Down 2 and Jaxx in Mortal Kombat Legacy was the final piece to making him Captain Ginyu. He will also star in season 3 of Arrow as Bronze Tiger.
Hiroyuki Sandana as Frieza
The villain that brings out the best in our hero Goku the evil one they call Frieza. He is known only for his destructive, heartless, and unforgiving ways. He not only destroyed the home of the Saiyans but he enslaved those who were still alive. Frieza is a superior fighter who kills both Vegeta and Krillin. The showdown on Namek was a great battle and Hiroyuki can carry Taylor through some fun and intense battles. He was great in The Last Samurai and will be seen in the upcoming movie The Wolverine. Hiroyuki is a Japanese legend he will bring a great fan base and provide us with the ability to bring Frieza’s character to life.

As I mentioned above these actors portraying these characters were selected based on their ability to fight first and foremost and then their ability to act. Understand that a lot of these characters will not have much face time so we needed them to bring it as fighters. There you have it your Namek Saga cast. I am eager to read your comments and suggestions so please feel free to comment.
