Why Marc Webb directing the sequel to The Amazing Spider-Man is a good thing.

I really liked The Amazing Spider-Man, here is the link to my review http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/GhostRiderfan1/news/?a=67606

Now, it's been recently announced that Marc Webb is returning to the directors chair and the inevitable returns of Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone. Now that the origin is out of the way, most of the critizisim is out of the way. It opens up new doors, new possibilities and a better story and better villain for the big screen. Here are my reasons why Marc Webb returning is a good thing.

Stronger romance

The romance was strong by chemistry in the first film but was thin in reasons, pretty much. Marc Webb returning presents the opportunity to build a stronger romance and more personal story (romance wise) for Peter and Gwen.

Better villain

For as much as I loved the big screen villianous debut of my favorite comicbook and Spider-Man villain, The Lizard. We need a fresh, new, not cartoony villain. I think Green Goblin with The Death of Gwen Stacy as a story basis would be good, but Goblin has been used. Maybe using Shocker to a more TDK Joker aspect but less phsycotic or maybe Mysterio. Someone new though. Connect them to the death of Peters parents somehow because The Untold Story needs to continue.

Introduce new characters

Introduce new characters like Harry Osborne, Felicia Hardy (maybe have her become Black Cat in the movie, that I would very much like), bring back J.Jonah Jameson (J.K Simmons returns or NO Jameson, ok maybe still bring J.J back but without Simmons, it wouldn't be the same), bring back Robbie Robertson, bring back Betty Brant, Eddie Brock with more screen time would be nice. You get the point. Bring us in new characters so it helps stay fresh and different from the original trilogy.

More action

Action doesn't always mean more fight scenes, although it would be nice. Bring in more action so the audience at times doesn't feel like the pacing is slow.

Overall: Now, bringing in new characters is inevitable. But still, the rest will be plus' hopefully in Marc Webb returning. The most notable being a stronger romance. Wouldn't you like to see Shocker appear or Mysterio or both? Anyways, I know this isn't a great article but what do you think? Comment below and be respectful.

I think the sequel will be big hit critically and commercially.

They're finally free of all the baggage that the reboot territory brought with itself. -Being a reboot and having a rush it to keep the rights to Spidey were the major reasons for all of the first film's problems.

But they did manage to set up everything really well for the sequels. The characters, the actors, the relationships, the tone, the villains' origins (from Oscorp, I'm guessing).

They finally brought the appropriate Spidey humor and cocky-ness.

And now that the reboot proved to be a good film and overcame the stigma successfully, the next film has a good chance to cross the billion dollar gross mark. Considering how large Spidey's fanbase is around the world.

That is of course, if they capitalize upon what they did here, and being free from all the constraints, they make an even better film.

@BattlinMurdock: I don't say it because of lack in confidence, I say it in my short editorials to avoid complaints in the comments.

Joker- I meant, to make Shocker more interesting than he is in the comics, have him be a little more phsycotic but not like Joker in TDK.

So long as the studio doesnt get involved as they did with the last film im good, how dare they change and edit out essential plot points just cuz " they " didnt like the way the film turned out

I want the sequel to introduce Harry and Marry Jane but not kill off Gwen until the third movie.

@LEVITIKUZ: I had realized this after I posted it. I knew it wasn't much but that's why I put what I did at the end. Also, I don't know how to but my title in bold letters. I've wondered but I don't know how, because in a couple of my editorials I've been meaning to do that.

You know, I just had an idea for the sequel.

In this reboot series, they're focusing on Peter's scientist skills. They didn't kill off Connors. And at the end of the film, Connors covered up for Peter.

In the sequel, they could have Peter consult with Connors about things he doesn't understand with the new villain, just like he consults with him in the comics and cartoons, the jail setting might actually make the whole setup even more interesting.

Then, we didn't see Connors' wife and kid the first time round. This film, they can be introduced by going to meet Connors in jail. Looking at his son (disappointed), through the bars with a look of shame and guilt on his face can do wonders for his character development.

Lizard isn't a lost cause, they can still improve upon what they did in the first film because they (thankfully) didn't kill him off.

Mysterio would be amazing. Hopefully, no goblin. Gwen Stacy shouldn't be killed off just to bring in that bimbo Mary Jane.
