Director: Gore Verbenski (returning)

Returning Characters:

Zordon- Zordon is an ambassador of the planet Eltar. One of his trips to Earth in his own days as an Eltarian Ranger faced him with The Obelisk. Having imprisoned the monster, Zordon returns to Earth to destroy it. Suffering mortal wounds before escaping the ship’s wreck, Zordon was confined to a life support vessel, resembling him to a gigantic head in a tube.

Casting: Laurence Fishburne

Alpha Five- Zordon's android servant.

Casting: Paul Bettany

Jason Scott- Jason is a handsome, suave, Indiana Jones-like professor. He teaches Anthropology at Angel Grove University. He is shown to be athletic, intelligent, and kind. Though he isn’t the most combat-oriented, his character places him in a leadership role for the Rangers.

Casting: Henry Cavill

Kimberly Hart- Kimberly is an ambitious journalist. She is also an old flame of Jason’s from their youth, but as time goes on their relationship becomes more and more strictly platonic.

Casting: Amber Heard

Billy Cranston- Billy is more of the geeky, lanky type. He is Jason’s best friend and he works with him at Angel Grove teaching Zoology.

Casting: Andrew Garfield

Trini Kwan- Trini is also a soldier in the United States Army who is assigned with Zack, Bulk, and Skull.

Casting: Jun Ji-hyun

Zack Taylor- Zack is a soldier in the United States Army.

Casting: Lee Thompson Young

Goldar- Goldar was Rita Repulsa’s bodyguard. He accompanied her to Earth and he is the keeper of the mud creatures that Rita used as her enforcers. After her defeat, he is the Rangers' new primary antagonist.

Casting: Kevin Grevioux

Bulk and Skull- These two are the comic relief of the film. They are two soldiers in the United States Army along with Zack and Trini.

Casting: Tyler Labine and Jay Baruchel

•Tommy beats Rocky and wins the competition
•Focus is also on a group of attendees, all of them dressed in matching black suits
•After the competition, the suits confront Tommy in the parking lot, remaining silent
•Tommy tries to walk around them, but they remain in his path
•Without warning, the suits attack
•Tommy defends himself against the suits
•Punching one of them clean through, Tommy withdraws his fist to find it covered with a muddy substance

•Outside the apartment building, Kimberly is contacted by Alpha and asked to come to The Fortress
•Joining the other Rangers there, Zordon explains about the sixth Nano-Morpher and the power it possesses
•If the Nano-Morpher is not found, it could fall into the wrong hands and be used to awaken a powerful Dragon Megalith
•The Rangers are transported to the moon to recover the device from Goldar
•They are greeted with a vast number of the mud creatures, which have been enhanced by Finster
•After plowing through the creatures the Rangers are faced with a new enemy: another Ranger
•This green Ranger attacks them skillfully and leaves them defeated only to return to Earth
•Zordon can only instruct the Rangers to wait and recover until a threat becomes present
•Returning to New York, Kimberly is shocked to be visited by Tommy
•Tommy apologizes and explains that he’s been under a lot of stress and having blackouts
•Kimberly questions the wound on his forehead again, which sets Tommy off for a second
•Regardless, the two of them go out for dinner together
•While this is going on, the other Rangers are each separately ambushed by mud creatures
•The mud creatures attack Tommy and Kimberly on their date and the two of them work together to fight them off
•After they get out of the restaurant, Tommy asks if Kimberly would like to go get drinks someplace else, but she says that she has somewhere else to be
•Kimberly goes back to her apartment and grabs her Nano-Morpher, preparing to transport back to The Fortress
•Before she can, there is a knock on her door
•Kimberly answers it reluctantly and finds no one is there
•Turning around, she is attacked by the green Ranger and blacks out
•Back at The Fortress, Alpha shows the other Rangers a message sent by Goldar
•The video message shows Kimberly tied up and Goldar challenges them to come get her, holding her Nano-Morpher up in his claws

•Back at the moon base, Goldar reveals his next move to the green Ranger: “Using Zordon’s Megalith, you will destroy New York City”
•Some reluctance shows within the green Ranger, but he agrees to the order
•Kimberly, still at The Fortress, gets a call from Tommy
•She tries to tell him that she’s busy, but he insists she meet him in New York
•Kimberly meets Tommy at a café and he explains that it might be a mistake to continue seeing him and that there are some things that he must do that she cannot be a part of
•Kimberly is hurt by this, as she was starting to really like him, and Tommy walks off after apologizing
•In a cave deep below the ocean the shadowed Dragon Monolith sits in waiting
•A man slowly steps out of the cave’s shadows into torchlight and it is revealed to be Tommy
•(Jumping a bit)
•The Dragon Megalith attacks New York City
•The Rangers fight the Dragon with their own Megalith and eventually defeat it
•After hitting his head in the Dragon’s destruction, Tommy seems to be freed from Goldar’s control
•Together the six Rangers discuss what has happened

•Finster, Squatt, and Baboo return to the remains of the Dragon Megalith
•Entering the Dragon, Finster grabs something from the cockpit: “I believe this is what Goldar was truly seeking”
•Finster holds it up for the other two to see: It is a large staff with a “Z” on the head

New Characters:

Tommy Oliver- Tommy is a martial artist who is chosen by Goldar to be a servant as the green Dragon Ranger. Though he is controlled by the power of the corrupted Nano-Morpher, Tommy’s good nature still shows through in his affection towards Kimberly and his guilt.

Casting: Chris Hemsworth

Finster- Finster is a scientist who is supposedly a former employee of Rita Repulsa. He is the one responsible for corrupting the Dragon Nano-Morpher (which formally belonged to Zordon) and enhancing the mud creatures.

Casting: David Hyde Pierce

Squatt and Baboo- These two together are Finster’s bodyguards. They had worked as bounty hunters before being hired by Finster. Despite this, they are never required to do anything other than to stand next to Finster and try to look intimidating (which they fail to do in their apparent idiocy).

Casting: Robbie Coltrane and Doug Jones

Cameos:

These three characters all appear during the martial arts tournament at the beginning of the film. Rocky, Adam, and Aisha (as fans will know) will become the new red, black, and yellow Rangers in a future film.

Another good write up my friend although (and please dont take this as a negative comment because I did enjoy reading it)I thought it was weaker than yor first movie in terms of story, and the characters in the plot was centred mostly around Tommy (understandable)and Kim what about the others, but again I did enjoy the read and was surprised when you killed of Jason, interested whats going to happen after so well done mate.

^The first film was more of Jason and Billy's story. I wanted this film to focus more on Kimberly because her relationship with Tommy is so critical to the canon.
