Is Batman tough enough to tangle with some of Marvel's superheroes?

Batman is one of the toughest non-powered heroes within the DC Universe as well as one of the smartest. There is no debate he is the greatest detective but there is some debate as to whether or not he has the ability to defeat the likes of Superman and other high powered heroes. Batman may not be able to defeat them, but he does have a contingency plan in case any heroes decide to go rogue. A prime example of this is within the pages of JLA: Tower of Babel. Within this story arc, we find Batman's has been keeping records concerning the strengths and weaknesses of his allies in the JLA, including plans to neutralise his allies in a fight. Another case of Batman's intelligence is he keeps a kryptonite ring in his utility belt in case he has to face Kryptonians or even the man of steel himself.

But can he defeat them with these contingencies in place? And what if Batman somehow makes it into the Marvel Universe? More than likely, Batman would get a feel for his surroundings and learn to adapt as he always does. The following fights will be left to the fans as to who is the better fighter. Assume Batman has been in the Marvel Universe for a month and has been in hiding, while gathering data on his coming opponents. If he were to face some of these characters, would he actually win, or would he fall? It's time for you to decide...is Batman tough enough?

Batman
"Sometimes, I admit, I think of Bruce as a man in a costume. Then, with some gadget from his utility belt, he reminds me that he has an extraordinarily inventive mind. And how lucky I am to be able to call on him." --Superman

Archangel vs. Batman:

Archangel

Batman
30 Votes (56.60%)
He may be the angel of death but that doesn't stop the dark knight from clipping his wings.

Beast vs. Batman:

Beast
21 Votes (51.22%)
Batman
20 Votes (48.78%)
The bouncing Beast narrowly defeats Batman, but only by a slight margin. Its something Bruce won't forget...

Black Panther vs. Batman:

Black Panther
33 Votes (71.74%)
Batman
13 Votes (28.26%)
Batman doesn't stand a chance against the king of Wakanda. T'Challa proves to be too much for the dark knight.

Black Widow vs. Batman:

Black Widow
17 Votes (42.50%)
Batman
23 Votes (57.50%)
Black Widow proves to be a formidable foe but her beauty just isn't enough.

Blade vs. Batman:

Blade

Batman
16 Votes (41.03%)
The daywalker comes out on top but only after a grueling battle neither combatants will never forget.

Captain America vs. Batman:

Captain America
34 Votes (66.67%)
Batman
17 Votes (33.33%)
He may be the dark knight but Steve Rogers is the first Avenger and he proves it by showing Batman why he's the best.

Here are the results deciding who will go face-off with the DC heroes:
Deadpool
18 Votes (29.51%)
Wolverine
18 Votes (29.51%)
Captain America
2 Votes (3.28%)
Magneto
12 Votes (19.67%)

As you can see, there's a tie between Deadpool and Wolverine so naturally they will do battle in order to decide who will go...

I'd give the amount of money America owes to see Batman vs Cap.

What is that Captain America picture even from?

@ manymade1 - I would too. I think that would be pretty cool if Marvel and DC teamed up to do an animated movie on it.

@ marvel72 - I saw that. You seem very bias towards Marvel. Either that, or you really don't like Batman that much...

@ ISeeStupidPeople - Not sure what that pic is from, but it's been around for awhile and I like it.

@ GreenLanternSector2814

maybe abit of both,i use to like batman but the fans of him on this site have put me off the character.the match ups i've seen him go up against & come off the winner is pathetic i.e superman & spider-man,its just a joke & i will do anything in my power to help defeat him. :D

@ marvel72 - I completely understand. He's not in my top ten characters

But I do believe he can overtake some super-powered heroes...just not all of them. Probably the lower-class ones. I'm actually more Marvel than DC as well, but I like the Green Lantern Corps. You have to admit though, Batman: Arkham Asylum was a pretty awesome game and Arkham City will be better, fan or not...

@ marvel72 - One character I don't think gets enough credit is Taskmaster. Sure, his costume looks ridiculous but when Agent X came around he had a pretty awesome costume (no idea why they strayed from that) and he has photographic reflexes which he uses to mimic his opponents and counter. Plus, he studies a whole bunch of fighters to learn his skills.

@ SillySteve - Thanks, I appreciate it. This is why I put this little debate online because I want to see where loyalties lie within the two Universes. I think, he would more than likely hide out among the crowds in disguise and do what he can to compile his data. He does adapt fairly well and I'm sure he will make due.

@ SillySteve - my five choices from your article:
Captain America
Cyclops (w/o use of his optic blast)
Taskmaster
Dick Grayson
Psylocke

Pretty cool article.
I agree with Marvel72. Batman was cool at first, but the Batman-Fanboyism is what made me dislike him so much, especially when it comes to versus battles.

I even did a Batman vs Galactus poll a while back just to see if they were gonna chose with common sense or bias. And you know how that went........

@ 0SageMode0 - Are you kidding me? Fans picked Batman over Galactus? That's ridiculous...

@GreenLanternSector2814:
You'd be surprised. One of them actually said "If Reed Richards can do it, so can Batman". Some pretty sad stuff, I know. LOL. Not even giving into the account that Uatu gave Richards the Ultimate Nullifier to do it. SMH

It's kind of the same with Deadpool. Don't get me wrong, he's one of my top ten characters (mainly because he's insane), but people tend to think he's completely unstoppable. Maybe he should face Galactus...then again, he might just try and drive a spaceship up Galactus' butt w/nukes on board...

WINNERS
Archangel:His name is Death. That like an automatic win.
Beast: To smart, agile, and powerful for Batman
Black Panther: More agile than Batman, and Vibranium is a force to be considered
Batman: The Black Widow wouldn't be able to take him down.
Blade:HE IS A VAMPIRE!
Captain America:He is Batman x2. Pretty much.

@ corddogburlar - thanks! I was noticing how many people pick Batman over everything else, so I decided to see just how much.
