Alright, let me start that I’m really looking forward for Zack Snyder’s big Man of Steel movie. But as a comic book reader, I have reservations about the choices he made for the film. Granted, every person has their tastes. I have my own ideas in how to make an adaptation of Superman: Secret Origin, the story arc written by Geoff Johns. I’m not saying that I could do a better job than Snyder (I’m no filmmaker, that’s for sure), I just want to share my idea with the people here at CBM. Enjoy!
Henry Cavill as Superman/Clark Kent/Kal-El

The first choice was obvious; he is already up for the role. I haven’t seen anything about Henry Cavill and I only heard about him when he was chosen for lead role in
Man of Steel. I think he has great charisma and the looks to be Superman.
Anna Kendrick as Lois Lane
Known for:
Up in the Air,
50/50
I have nothing against Amy Adams, I’m just uncomfortable with the idea of Lois being a redhead, not to mention the significant age difference between her and Cavill. Kendrick is one of my favorite actresses and I love her dramatic acting, and she can also convey Lois’ more comedic moments. Besides, she is a brunette and is only two years younger than Cavill. In the story, the famous love triangle will be adapted. The secret would be only revealed in the sequels.
Michael C. Hall as Lex Luthor
Known for:
Dexter
Hall is a good actor and his role in
Dexter proves he has what it takes to be the evil mastermind we all know and love. He is sophisticated, charming, polite, and a complete and utter monster when things do not go his way. In the story, Luthor’s vendetta against Superman is not as because he is superior to humanity, but because he is superior to
him.
Hugh Laurie as Perry White
Known for:
House
We all know Laurie is known as unrepentant jerkass Dr. House, so I think Perry White is basically a more decent and upstanding version of that character. Besides, Laurie was set to play Perry in
Superman Returns but was not able to do so given his busy schedule. I think this could be a chance for him to re-obtain the role.
Joel Courtney as Jimmy Olsen
Known for:
Super 8
I absolutely adored Courtney in
Super 8. He was the only person I could think of to play Jimmy in his Secret Origin incarnation.
Bradley James as Metallo/John Corben
Known for:
Merlin
I chose Bradley James because he plays an honor-confused Arthur in
Merlin, so I wanted to take a character with the same situation but with a darker perspective. I also wanted to see James play a bad guy.
Kevin Costner as Jonathan Kent
Known for:
The Untouchables,
Bill Durham
Kevin Costner is already perfect for the role. No need for a change.
Diane Lane as Martha Kent
Known for:
Unfaithful
Diane Lane is already perfect for the role. No need for a change.
