"Well, it's official Alfred."
"What sir?"
"Selina hates me."
"What?"
"Well, rescuing the Commissioner took longer than I thought and..."
"I see. Well I'm sure that she will forgive you. Give it time."
"Well at least one good thing came out of this."
"And what would that be?"
"Gordon is now my unofficial partner."
"He is? Well, he isn't going to dress up as a bat. Or will you make him?"
"No Alfred. He can give me information about some of the criminals I fight. Like that Black Mask guy."
"Yes?"
"He's Roman Sionis."
"Oh. Well then. I hope that Selina forgives you sooner or later."
Bruce was in the Bat-cave, searching for blood matches on the computer. He had cut the Red Hood, and was searching for a blood match. He had made sure that the GCPD put Carlo in custody.
"Damn it! That was everyone in Gotham!"
"DeadShot, are you in the cave yet?"
"Yeah Hood, I'm in here. Still can't believe how stupid the Bat was. It's not like him."
"Well, take him out now if he's so stupid!"
"Well, I don't know boss. He's made me miss before."
"I don't care! Just get RID OF HIM!!!"
"Okay, okay. Here we go. line up, line up!"
"DeadShot. Didn't expect to see you here."
"AHH!!! Where'd you come from?!?"
"Down there."
Batman threw down a smoke pellet. DeadShot freaked out. He didn't know where he was, he couldn't see! Suddenly, he was being picked up, and hung from the ceiling.
"Two down, three to go."
"Oh, Bruce. Oh, what came up that was more important than my event? Oh my God Bruce. What was it? Or did you just leave to leave? No that wasn't it, he came back. Oh, Bruce."
Bam, bam, bam!!!
"-sigh- Coming!"
"Hi Selina."
"Hi the- Who the HELL are you!?!"
"You don't remember me? You just made me feel sad. It's me, Roman. Still want me?"
"Roman? What the Hell happened to you?!?"
"Oh, the usual. My mask was burnt to my face in my own Steel Mill. Then I turned to crime. Because Bruce Wayne ruined my company."
"Why would you think that?"
"He pulled me out of bankruptcy. I really hated him for that."
"Why?"
"Never mind. Now I'm going to kill you. It'll attract the Batman, and devastate Wayne. And when I die, we'll be together in Hell."
"Roman, just think about this-"
CRASH!!!
Batman dived through the window in Selina's apartment. Roman let go of Selina and ran towards Batman. He stabbed him with his knife. Batman backed up and pressed a hidden button on his suit. A buzzing sound went through the room. Roman ran towards Batman again, with another knife. Batman turned around quickly, and his cape hit Roman, and stunned him. Batman tossed Roman out of the window, and a small rope kept him from falling.
"Call the police."
"What? Oh, okay. Hello, hello, this is Selina Kyle, I live at the Amazon Hotel. Yes, yes. I was just attacked by Roman Sionis. Yes, yes, okay. They're on their way."
"Good. It's not safe here. His boss will be here soon. Hold on."
Batman jumped out of the window with Selina. He grappled onto the nearest building and Selina got off.
"This is the safest place to be right now. I''m going after Mask's boss."
"Good. I always hated Roman. I think I'll go to Bruce. Apologize."
"Good-bye Miss Kyle."
"Roman, why aren't you back yet!?!"
"Relax Hood. I'm still here."
"Yes you are still here Scarface. But no one else is!!! Batman is making us look like children!!! How long have I been doing this job? 15 years!!! And Batman has only been doing it for 2 and a half MONTHS!!!"
"Boss, maybe you should calm down?"
"No Scarface, NO!!! I won't calm down. That's it. We know where his HQ is. We are going to hack into his little Bat-computer and challenge him. And Dent. With Harvey Dent."
"Um, boss? Where's it going to be at?"
"The Ace Chemicals building. We'll dunk Dent in acid if he doesn't show."
"Well, it's a plan."
"Hello, hello Alfred it's me Selina. Alfred?"
"Ah, Miss Kyle. Please come in. Can I get you anything?"
"Is Bruce here? I wanted to apologize."
"Master Bruce isn't here right now. I'm sure he will be here soon. Ah, what was that? Please excuse me Miss Kyle."
Alfred got up and walked to his room.
"Master Bruce what is it?"
"Tell her."
"What, Master Bruce? Tell her what?"
"Alfred don't stall. Just tell her. Everything."
"If you insist Master Bruce. But once it is said it cannot be taken back."
"Just tell her Alfred. She deserves to know."
"Does Mr. Dent do too? Does Mr. Strange? Mr. Fox? No, wait, he already knows. Mr. Gordon? All of Gotham?"
"Fine Alfred don't tell her. I'll do it myself. I'm in the cave."
Bruce stopped the transmission to Alfred.
Bruce got up from the computer when,
"Hello Dark Knight. It is I, the Red Hood. Me and Scarface have a Mister Harvey Dent with us. We're at the Ace Chemicals building. Show up, or he is dunked in a tank of acid. Be here in two hours. Or he dies. Painfully."
"Oh no. Harvey."
Bruce ran up to the main hall and saw Selina. He was still in his Bat-suit. He went up behind Selina.
"Hi"
"What the, Batman?"
"Actually, it's Bruce Wayne."
"What? Bruce, you dress up as Batman?"
"No Selina, I am Batman. That's why I've been so strange lately. Why I missed your benefit. Why everything."
"Man you do a good Batman impression."
"Just follow me. Come on."
Bruce brought Selina down to the cave.
"Oh. Now I see."
"It's been 2 hours. Should we dunk him?"
"Yeah Scarface. Arnold! Pull the lever!"
"No, no PLEASE!!! I have a wife! Kids! Please! No!"
"I'm sorry Dent, but you knew the risks."
Dent's flesh hit the acid.
"No! NO! ARG!!! AHHH! OH MY GOD!!!! STOP IT PLEASE!!!!!!"
Half of Dent was engulfed in acid.
"NO, PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHY, WHY!?!?!?!?!? OH NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"Stop it NOW!"
"Pull him up Arnold. Wow Mr. Dent. That is a lovely shade of purple."
"I HATE YOU!!!!"
"I'm sure you do Harvey. Now then Scarface, would you do the honer of killing the Bat?"
"Of course I would."
Scarface took out a tiny pistol and fired at the Bat. But there were no more bullets. Out of ammo.
"Arnold, you kill him!"
He shook his head.
"Do it."
He shook his head.
"Do it NOW!!!"
He took out his gun-
"Now THAT'S more like it!"
-and shot himself.
"Scarface! Arnold! You. You did this Batman! I'm all out of men. But I can still murder you myself!"
Red Hood threw a punch at Batman. He missed. He did it again. Blocked. Again! Countered. AGAIN! Dodged. AGAIN!!! He was hit before his punch got close.
"I'll kill you!!!"
He pulled out a gun and shot at Batman like there was no tomorrow. Not single bullet hit the target. But he had Batman in his sights, and a smoke pellet came down.
"WHERE DID YOU GO!?!?!"
"Behind you."
BAM!
Red Hood was knocked into a railing, and he started laughing.
"Hahaha. HAHAHA!!! It's hilarious how, I, can't even kill you. I'm the best of the best. The king of kings. But you deny me your death. I'll be a laughing stock! I have no more men! I have nothing to live for!"
And with that, Red Hood flung himself into a vat of experimental chemicals.
Back at the cave, Selina was with Bruce.
"Bruce, I'm sorry that I was so upset. it was a little thing and..."
"I was Batman the whole time. Yes, I forgive you. But you can't tell anyone."
"Well that won't be easy."
"Is it ever?"
"No, I guess it isn't ever easy. You know what? I could be your partner."
"You mean sidekick?"
"No, no I do not."
"Well, I work better alone."
"Is Harvey okay? I heard he was..."
"Yes, he's fine. He was scarred, and it probably won't heal, but if he wears the bandages, he probably won't be affected."
"Well that's good to hear. Bye, Bruce."
"Master Bruce, Batman been called to the GCPD building."
"What?"
"Oh, Commissioner Gordon has built something to call you in times of distress. A Bat-signal of some sort."
"Well, I better go then."
"I think it has something to do with Basil Carlo and an experiment gone wrong. I'm not sure."
"Then let's put the Bat-mobile into turbo."
At the Ace Chemicals building, a demonic laughter fills the air, and a hand pops out of a vat of chemicals.
