With most fan casts I’ve seen on this site fan boys have traditionally casted young, well whereas I’m not against that I just think it’d be a nice change of pace to have older actors, so again I’ve decided to go for older actors and actresses. Also, I have cast the characters I’d like to crop up throughout the series rather than one singular film and (as usual) I’ve decided to give each, well not all but some of the characters here my own unique spin on their origins to further help ground them slightly more in reality and make them a bit more believable and also in some cases because they seemed to lack real motivation, and to me this was the best way to rectify that.
Just as a side note though; I’m not a DC purist, frankly I’m more of a Marvel guy, but I grew up on ‘the Justice League’ animated series so took a lot of inspiration from that, but it must be said, with certain characters such as Wonder Woman, despite enjoying her portrayal in the show, I just do not see any credible way for her to work seriously in live action, this alongside the fact she keeps switching back from pants to no pants just makes me find the character more annoying and so I just haven’t included her in my cast.
Well, I hope you enjoy the fan cast below, as always please leave your thoughts and comments below, thanks.
Notable Roles:
Lost
Vantage Point
We Are Marshall
My Take:
Most recently I really enjoyed ‘Superman: Birthright’ and ‘Secret Origin’ so like the idea of them acting as an inspiration for Superman. As for the characterisation of the Man of Steel, I kind of like how John Byrne presented him; Clark Kent’s the real persona, he’s not a nerd, rather a farm boy who had trouble adjusting to big city life, etc. Basically when he was a teen he was football hero, but due to a ‘leg injury’ he called it quits only to follow other interests and become a journalist. With the disguise, I always imagined Superman to utilize different hair styles and voices/accents, but also to wear clothes that are one to two sizes too big for him to make him appear skinny rather than muscular alongside the glasses of course. As for the costume, its inception was inspired by Kryptonian clothing but made in the barn; I personally prefer this design over the current DC reboot suit. So as usual, Clark should be the team leader. Anyway with my version of the character, I imagine he’s been active for 12 years and is now in his late 30's to early 40's and has been happily married to Lois for 7 of those.
Reason for Casting:
He’s got the look, height, and voice, despite that though he’s a very talented actor, I admittedly haven’t seen him in much but his role in ‘Lost’ just echoed Superman, he’s clearly displayed his leadership and authoritative skills well and that’s why I think he’d be good as an older Man of Steel. All he needs to do is work out a bit more and grow his hair a bit and he’d be perfect.
Notable Roles:
Munich
Star Trek
Hanna
My Take:
I’m a big fan of Nolan’s take on Batman, so am against the idea of a reboot; ideally if Chris Bale and Nolan decide to quit I’d like Warner Bros to at least carry on from where they left off as certain elements of the character’s history such as his training with the League of Shadows and his part in his parents death and his subsequent attempt at revenge were just fantastic character points. Though I’d like for some flashbacks to further expand on his training essentially he didn’t just train with the League of Shadows. That being said, Nolan’s Batman has always been presented more as a physical and reactive character, in the next big screen incarnation of the character I’d like to see his detective side explored a lot more, he should be presented almost as a mysterious spy like urban legend/modern day gothic myth figure of sorts.
As for the character’s involvement with the League, I’ve always imagined Superman and Batman in particular to have a relationship similar to Cyclops and Wolverine, so they respect and trust one another but aren’t exactly best buddies. Also, due to the nature in which Batman operates I’d imagine him to be like a ‘black ops’ member of the League rather than spend time in the public eye like the rest of them, so maybe similar to Cyclops and Wolverine, Superman has him run a black ops version of the League; the Outsiders anybody? Anyway, with my version of the character, I imagine he’s been active for around 12-13 years and is now in his late 30’s to early 40’s.
Reason for Casting:
This is hardly original casting, but he’s got the look, height, and voice, despite that though he’s a very talented actor, and most recently more or less played the character well as seen in ‘Hanna.’ Frankly, I think he can perfectly handle the duality of the character and give us all a fresh take to the character much like Chris Bale did in ‘Begins.’ All he needs to do is work out a bit more and he’d be perfect.
Notable Roles:
Boys n the Hood
G.I. Jane
V
My Take:
As I mentioned before, I grew up on the ‘Justice League’ animated series, so John Stewart was my first introduction to Green Lantern, and since then has remained my favourite. Personally I would’ve prefer if he was the only and first Green Lantern of Earth and if the recent movie had been focused on him, personally I think it would of worked if it was done like ‘Star Wars’ meets ‘Training Day’ with Sinestro in Denzel Washington’s role, though this is a topic for another time…
Anyway, as I’ve mentioned I’d like John to be Earth’s only Lantern, and as its being done at the moment with the new ‘Justice League’ comics, I’d like Green Lantern to have a big role within the DC universe (he should replace Wonder Woman in my version of the ‘Trinity’) mainly as he is a space cop so it’s clear he should have some strong jurisdiction over other alien based heroes, etc. Also I’d expect John to act as a military liaison of sorts for the team due to his public identity. Anyway, with my version of the character, I imagine he’s been active for around 11 years and is now in his late 30’s to early 40’s, also I’d like the above suit to stick.
Reason for Casting:
He’s a very good actor, admittedly he hasn’t had much mainstream attention, but he’s got the right look, can handle drama and can handle action plus he’s built like a marine too so that obviously helps.
Notable Roles:
Little Children
Hard Candy
Insidious
My Take:
I’ve always found Barry to be a more interesting character than Wally so that’s why in my version he will be as non-existent as Robin is in Nolan’s universe. Anyway, I imagine Barry to be a forensics detective, and whilst investigating a crime scene he accidently (unknowingly) inhales some experimental catalyst (for those who never did science, it speeds things up) based chemical and then later on during the day gets in an accident where he gets a major electric shock, which puts him into a coma for a couple of days (this is how I believe his body adapts to it new situation). Anyway, long story short he develops super speed based powers, though as I always found the concept behind the speed force to be confusing I’d rather it not be included.
As for the costume, I’m like the new suit would want that to stick, though the wings should be painted on or something like Cap’s, and the yellow boots always looked as weird as Hal’s white gloves to me, so personally I’d prefer them to match with his gloves. Anyway with my version of the character, I imagine he’s been active for 11 years and is now in his late 30's to early 40's and has been happily married to Iris for 9 of those.
Reason for Casting:
He’s just a very underrated actor, really like his work and he deserves to be a lead in a CBM, I think he can bring great balance to the role both with the wit and the drama.
Notable Roles:
Lost
Fringe
The Wire
My Take:
I imagine J’onn was the fifth and final member of the original League’s line up. Anyway, rather than being a regular Martian, I imagine J’onn was a high ranking Martian commander who was subjected to an experimental procedure (alongside others, this experiment didn’t go right with some Martians, making them crazy and more mutated looking; leading to the inception of the White Martians and the eventual civil war which wiped out Mars) which gave him molecular shape shifting abilities, super strength, telepathy, flight, etc. Anyway, during the civil war he alongside a few other Martian soldiers went to Earth as a means of compensating for the loss of their planet by protecting another, only to be apprehended by the Government (in my take this was the Roswell incident) leading to the rest dying and J’onn escaping and being the only survivor, eventually going public years later to form the League. Anyway with my version of the character, I imagine he’s been active as a superhero for 10 years and is the oldest member of the League.
Reason for Casting:
He has a very strong authoritative presence to him plus he is very tall and imposing and has this very ‘intelligent’ and ‘logical’ subhuman Spock-like presence to him too. Despite that though he’s just a great actor and would undoubtedly do gloriously in the role.
Notable Roles:
Green Street
Sons of Anarchy
My Take:
I’m sort of mixing Oliver Queen and Roy Harper into one as I always found Green Arrow to be too similar to Batman, with my version he’s like a mix between Batman Beyond and Ultimate Hawkeye. Basically, Roy Harper is a battle hardened soldier who is an expert sharp shot but after suffering from depression after losing his platoon or something he ends up working for Oliver Queen (an old man in my take); an ‘old friend of his dad’ (really his dad) as his body guard. From here Roy becomes very close to Ollie, seeing him as a father figure, and throughout their friendship learns Ollie was a former green beret, but due to his fondness for archery his old war buddies used to call him ‘Green Arrow,’ a name which Roy takes on as a Robin Hood like vigilante after Oliver is murdered and his company is taken over (he leaves his wealth behind for Roy, telling him really knew, etc) set to expose it and fight crime for justice, etc. Anyway with my version of the character, I imagine he’s been active for 7 to 8 years and is now in his early to mid-30’s.
Reason for Casting:
Another great actor, visually he looks the part though as he’s a military man in my take it’d make sense for him to look more military, so maybe he should look more like Roy… Whatever, forget that just a solid up and coming actor and he deserves to be in a CBM.
Notable Roles:
Chuck
My Take:
I enjoyed the route of the character so far, so everything should pretty same, though as for her origin, I imagine she was a criminal metahuman who got a chance at redemption and was forcibly made a member of the Suicide Squad and eventually escaped, got a new identity and became a super hero to fight crime in her own way. Just as a side now though, I imagine her costume to look a bit like Mockingbird’s (yes from Marvel), I just don’t think fish tights would work in real life. Anyway with my version of the character, I imagine she’s been active for 6 years and is now in her early 30's and yes is doing the ‘dirty dance in the dark’ with Green Arrow.
Reason for Casting:
She’s very hot, a talented martial artist, looks the part and a good actress with the right attitude for the role. That basically covers all grounds so I think she’d be perfect.
Notable Roles:
Antwone Fisher
Glory Road
My Take:
I enjoyed the route of the character so far, so everything should pretty much remain the same, though with my version he was a former football star turned soldier, and whilst getting killed in battle his remains were reused as he was initially part of the program which acted as a prototype to Metallo. Anyway, I’m not against Cyborg being a member of the League, as I think he has the potential to be a really great character if done right as I kind of enjoyed how he was done in ‘Teen Titan’. Just as a side note though, visually I’d like him to look more like the ‘Teen Titans’ version, so he should be bald, and like Lex Luthor from ‘DC Universe Online’ have a normal face with one cool looking robot eye only; the whole Terminator head look just seems so dated and generic to me now. Anyway with my version of the character, I imagine he’s been active for 8 years and is now in his mid-30’s.
Reason for Casting:
He’s a pretty good actor, he has the right kind of stocky build for the role, plus he has the right charismatic appeal needed too, I just think he could bring a lot of depth to the role.
Notable Roles:
A Town Called Eureka
True Blood
My Take:
There’s been so many different versions of the character done so I’m simplifying things down, Carter Hall an archaeologist, is the reincarnated form of an ancient Egyptian prince who was cursed to continuously be reborn for engaging in a forbidden love, etc, but as Carter Hall, he discovers ancient alien technology from the long dead alien race the Thangarians during a dig (in my take they came to Earth during the time of the Pharaohs and were worshipped, etc) and this reawakens his past memories leading to him becoming a superhero, etc. As for his costume, it definitely needs an update, so I’d imagine it to look a bit more armoured and slightly futuristic. Anyway with my version of the character, I imagine he’s been active for 9 years and is now in his late 30’s.
Reason for Casting:
He’s a pretty good actor, he has the right build and look needed too so that of course helps too.
Notable Roles:
Alias
My Take:
I enjoyed how she was presented in the ‘Justice League’ animated series so would like traits from that portrayal such as the love triangle between her, John and Carter to stick, though I’d prefer if in the end she remembers Carter. As for her costume, I think it too deserves a similar update to Hawkman, though despite not having a picture of it, I remember the ‘Young Justice’ animated series versions of the character had some cool updated versions of the costumes so wouldn’t mind them. Anyway with my version of the character, I imagine she’s been active for 5 to 6 years and is now in her late 20’s.
Reason for Casting:
She’s a pretty good actor, I admittedly haven’t seen her in much, but what little I have seen her in just convinced me she was perfect for the role, really that simple.
Notable Roles:
District 9
The A-Team
My Take:
I enjoyed the route of the character so far, so everything should pretty much remain the same. Though rather than a full on member of the League, I imagine he acts as a mystical advisor of sorts to the superhero community and also to be done similar to the ‘Smallville’ version so he should be slightly crazy. Anyway with my version of the character, I imagine he’s been active as a superhero for 11 years and is now in his mid to late 40’s.
Reason for Casting:
He’s a pretty good actor, admittedly he’s younger than the character, but he can easily pass of as older plus he has a knack at playing edgy and slightly damaged characters well.
Notable Roles:
Havoc
Get Smart
My Take:
Daughter of the world famous magician John Zatara, Zatanna Zatara discovered her abilities in her teens using them to make her famous as a Las Vegas celebrity psychic/magician, however after meeting the enigmatic Dr Fate, Zatanna discovered her powers could be best put to more useful ends, leading to her becoming one of his apprentices. Anyway with my version of the character, I imagine she’s been active for 6 to 7 years and is now in her early 30's
Reason for Casting:
Visually she looks the part, plus she’s a solid actress and has handled confident and strong female characters well before so I think she could do well here too.
Notable Roles:
Heroes
Entourage
My Take:
She was my 2nd favourite Titan so I’m including her as a member of the League. Her mother was a victim of a Satanic cult, she was raped by the demon Triton, leading to Raven’s birth, raised by the cult to bring about the Apocalypse, Raven was saved by Dr Fate and became his 2nd apprentice. With my version of the character, I imagine she’s been active for 5 to 6 years and is now in her late 20's
Reason for Casting:
She’s 30 something but she can pass of as a younger, but despite that she’s a pretty talented and versatile actress, and has played a similar role well before in ‘Heroes’.
Notable Roles:
The Matrix
CSI
Assault on Precinct 13
My Take:
I liked how Nolan has Lucius being Bruce’s armourer and friend of his father, so would like that to stick, but as Batman’s involvement with the League is presented, I’d expect Lucius to also be involved with them as it just seems logical for him to have a part in designing the Watchtower.
Reason for Casting:
Another great actor, visually he looks the part a lot more than Morgan Freeman ever did, but despite that he’s played similar characters before well and could possibly even surpass Freeman in the role.
Notable Roles:
Underworld I & II
Van Helsing
The Aviator
My Take:
Similarly to the current version, she’s a military brat, and a very strong, confident and fast talking, go getter kind of person. I imagine her to be kind of a bitch, but this is because she doesn’t like people getting too close to her as she lost her sister and mother in a car accident (that she caused) so she became more career focused, etc.
Reason for Casting:
She can play sexy and strong in her sleep, and looks the part. I’m surprised her name has never been suggested for the part before. Originally I wanted her for Catwoman, but I think she’d just be better suited her.
Notable Roles:
Reaper
My Take:
I’d like Jimmy to be presented as being tougher, essentially he’s from a rough neighbourhood is the youngest kid in a big family so is looking to make a name for himself as serious journalist one day. He should identify with Clark as big brother figure, Lois as a sister/older crush, and Perry as a father figure.
Reason for Casting:
Prior to this I had Hunter Parish for the role, but as a few members of CBM rightly pointed out he'd be too young for an older fan cast and whereas I initially persisted in keeping him here, there’s no denying it, he'd be great but he's still too young for this cast. In this light I think Bret is the only choice as he's a rising star and did a very good job with a similar character in 'Reaper'.
Notable Roles:
Jurassic Park I & II
Bicential Man
Daybreakers
My Take:
Former war hero turned star reporter but his career was blown to smithereens after he got mixed up with the Luthor’s, leading to him slowly rebuilding his reputation and becoming more cynical and determined to get the truth out to the people no matter what the cost. I imagine the whole Daily Planet team to act sort of as the League’s Public Relations team.
Reason for Casting:
I haven’t seen him in much, but what I have seen him in I’ve enjoyed. He just has this very grounded and wise look to him, plus he has is very versatile so I’d be interested in him giving it a go.
Notable Roles:
Doom
Surrogates
My Take:
I imagine Iris to be a STAR labs employee as well as Barry’s other half, so she discovers his powers early on in his career and helps him design his ‘advanced speed suit’ and also acts as helper of sorts to the League.
Reason for Casting:
She’s a pretty good actress, despite that though she’s hot but I mainly cast her as she is this intelligent quality to her that I think would benefit her well.
Notable Roles:
Fracture
The Rite
Thor
My Take:
I enjoyed the route of character so want that to more or less stick, but as he’s supposed to be the most personal Guardian, I’d expect him to be involved with John Stewart and any of his big intergalactic League problems to some degree too.
Reason for Casting:
He’s a fantastic actor, he’s been good in everything he’s done and he’s played a similar role in ‘Thor’ very well, but despite that all he actually (strangely) looks the part.
Notable Roles:
The Truman Show
A History of Violence
My Take:
He should again have a strained relationship with his daughter, both because of his resentment at not having a son but also as due to Lois, he lost both his wife and youngest daughter. He is also in charge of the Department of Metahuman Affairs research and defence facilities (head of Checkmate) and holds a very neutral stance in regards to superheroes.
Reason for Casting:
A great actor, really that simple; he has the voice, the look and the presence needed for the role. Still hoping he gets the role in Snyder’s latest.
Notable Roles:
Without A Trace
My Take:
Former Star Labs geneticist, Amanda Waller now works for the Department of Metahuman Affairs more secretive research and defence departments, most notably Checkmate (the Suicide Squad) and Project Cadmus. She should be the ‘Nick Fury’ of the DC universe, shame we’re going to have wait like another 5 years for DC to get its act together though…
Reason for Casting:
I haven’t seen her in much, but what I saw of her in ‘Without a Trace’ was very impressive. It’s clear she’s a good actress; she also looks more like the character than Angela Bassett does so that obviously factored in to my casting choice too.
Notable Roles:
The Green Mile
Iron Man II
Moon
My Take:
Rather than head of Checkmate, I imagine he’s a self-metahuman and former top agent of Checkmate who goes rogue and creates havoc for the League by creating the OMAC problem, etc.
Reason for Casting:
Some of you may be thinking what the hell? But it was actually because of his work as Justin Hammer that I thought he’d be able to handle that suave, cocky arrogance needed for the role and help do justice to the role, plus due to his previous roles its clear he can handle the darker sides to the character too.
Notable Roles:
Doomsday
Underworld III
My Take:
Rather than being Bruce Wayne’s bodyguard, I imagine she was just a high ranking agent of Checkmate and the League’s main military liaison after John. Though speaking of John I imagine her to also act as a love interest to him too.
Reason for Casting:
She’s a pretty good actress, very hot and was fantastic in a very similar role in ‘Doomsday’, so I’d be willing to see what she could do in the role.
Notable Roles:
Training Day
Lord of War
Daybreakers
Before the Devil Knows Your Dead
My Take:
I liked the idea of Lex being a self-made billionaire, and his origins stemming from both Smallville and the Suicide Slums. So, his dad was a con man with ties to the mob, and his mum came from Smallville (his dad was an abusive drunk) on a trip to the aforementioned small town, Lex got caught up in the meteor storm leading to him going bald and his intelligence increasing due to the radiation. Years later as a young adult, he began researching the meteors that landed there whilst working for Star Labs, befriending a young Clark Kent along the way. Whilst attempting an experiment though, his machine malfunctions (maybe an attempt at opening the Phantom Zone), giving him amnesia and leading to his eventual departure and subsequent rise to the position of Metropolis’ favourite son. In regards to his hatred to Superman, ‘Lex Luthor: Man of Steel’ put it best, he hates him because having someone like Superman around prevents mankind from achieving their full potential, etc.
Reason for Casting:
He’s a very talented actor, whereas he may not typically be associated with such a role, I think he could bring grit to the role whilst maintaining that infamous sense of righteous logic needed for the role. All he needs to do is work out more and shave his head.
Notable Roles:
Deadwood
The Crazies
Justified
My Take:
I enjoyed the route of the character so far, so everything should pretty much remain the same, though he should be the team leader for the Suicide Squad.
Reason for Casting:
He’s just a really cool actor, didn’t really like him before, but most recently his work has really caught my eye and I think he’d be perfect here.
Notable Roles:
Inglorious Bastards
Centurion
X-Men: First Class
My Take:
I imagine him to be a product of Project Cadmus that is initially brought to Gotham to hunt down Tim Drake, and to later become a member of the Suicide Squad.
Reason for Casting:
He’s a very talented actor, always gives a fantastic performance in what he’s in and would be perfect as a young Batman, so I thought it would be fitting if he played this role.
Notable Roles:
Minority Report
Pride & Glory
London Boulevard
My Take:
Former junkie, Manchester Black developed advanced metahuman telepathic and telekinetic abilities in his youth using them for his own personal gain. After being apprehended for various crimes, Black is initiated alongside a group of rag tag metahumans for an incarnation of the Suicide Squad.
Reason for Casting:
He has real life experience needed for the role, plus he’s a pretty good actor and looks the part. Need I say more?
Notable Roles:
The Wire
Rock n Rolla
The Losers
My Take:
I’m taking a lot of inspiration from ‘Secret Origin,’ so basically Corben was a former elite soldier, who was dishonourably discharged due to constant anger issues, only to be hired as part of LutherCorp’s private security later on. After the world begins to believe Superman is Public Enemy No.1, Corben is selected for an experimental cybernetic enhancement program and is the only one to survive, leading to him eventually being a hired gun of sorts and later a prominent member of the Suicide Squad.
Reason for Casting:
He’s one of my favourite actors at the moment, just a really great actor; more or less everything he’s done is on point. As for the ethnic change, it’s really quite simple; there are too many white comic book characters, I’m just trying to balance the scales.
Notable Roles:
Collateral
No Country for Old Men
My Take:
His mother was a whore, and his father was her pimp who he killed when he was 12 in her defence. After that he was sent to Santa Prisca juvenile prisons, unable to readjust to the outside life, he forcibly remained in prison eventually becoming one of Santa Prisca’s biggest underworld drugs baron and participant of experimental drug ‘venom.’ Eventually leading to his conflict with Batman after hearing tales of the legendary Dark Knight of Gotham, provoking his childhood fear of Bats and the dark, and then later becoming a member of the Suicide Squad.
Reason for Casting:
He’s the fan favourite for the role and a top notch actor, great at playing intimidating and powerful characters plus he has a hell of a deep voice and more or less played the part before well. All he’d need to do is work out a bit more and wear some lifts to appear a bit taller.
Notable Roles:
The Mentalist
My Take:
I never liked Eobard Thawne, preferred Hunter Zolomon, he just seemed more complex and logical to me. So as you can imagine I’d expect his character route to stay the same though rather than aiming his angst at Wally, of course he aims at Barry.
Reason for Casting:
He’s a very talented actor, admittedly I haven’t seen him in much, but he’s displayed some very similar attributes in ‘the Mentalist’ so I think he could do well here.
Notable Roles:
Harry Potter movies
Good
Brotherhood
My Take:
I enjoyed the route of the character so far, so everything should pretty much remain the same though I’d imagine his ‘rivalry’ to be aimed at John this time round.
Reason for Casting:
He’s a fantastic actor, can play charismatic and conniving with ease, plus he looks the part too so that of course helps.
Notable Roles:
Road to Perdition
Sherlock Holmes
Repo Men
My Take:
I enjoyed the route of the character so far, so everything should pretty much remain the same, though I’d imagine his ‘rivalry’ to be aimed at John this time round.
Reason for Casting:
He’s a pretty good actor, admittedly he hasn’t really played many similar characters before but in ‘Road to Perdition’ he was perfect as a creepy hit man who jerked off to crime scene photos so I’d be willing to give him a shot here.
Notable Roles:
Dark City
The Illusionist
My Take:
I enjoyed the route of the character so far, so everything should pretty much remain the same, so he should just be around as the megalomaniac, world domination obsessed, cannibal immortal.
Reason for Casting:
He’s a very good actor but despite his acting skills, I cast him mainly because he has this very pompous and royal arrogant presence to him that I think would make him an epic villain.
Notable Roles:
Gangs of New York
There Will Be Blood
My Take:
I enjoyed the route of the character so far, so everything should pretty much remain the same, though I’d expect Ra’s and the League of Shadows to have a bigger and more supernatural presence in the DC universe; basically they should be DC’s version of the Hand.
Reason for Casting:
He’s just a brilliant actor and another fan favourite. I think he is the only actor around that may be able to surpass Neeson, but despite that he looks the part too so that obviously did factor into my decision.
Notable Roles:
Sherlock Holmes
Rock n Rolla
Kick Ass
Body of Lies
Robin Hood
My Take:
Jor-El’s closest friend and the General of the Kryptonian military. After his wife and child were killed during the destruction of Kandor, Zod began opposing the Kryptonian council and their dystopian way of life starting a rebellion, but putting millions of innocent lives at risk, leading to his eventual imprisonment in the Phantom Zone until his accidental release on Earth.
Reason for Casting:
He was underused as Sinestro, but prior to that he was my No.1 choice for Zod. He’s a very talented actor and has this ridiculously dark charismatic swagger to him that just makes you feel in awe of him, perfect qualities needed for the role.
Notable Roles:
Smokin’ Aces
Legion
Robin Hood
I Am Number Four
My Take:
I enjoyed the route of the character so far, so everything should pretty much remain the same.
Reason for Casting:
Prior to this I had Jason Momoa pegged for the role, but again as some CBM members rightly pointed out he wasn't a right fit for the role, whereas after rewatching 'Smokin Aces' it was clear Durand was the only choice.
Notable Roles:
30 Days of Night
The Warrior’s Way
21 Grams
My Take:
I imagine him to be like DC’s version of Mephistopheles, so a deal making top ranking demon essentially.
Reason for Casting:
He was awful in ‘Wolverine’ but then again the whole movie was a stinker, but Danny has played creepy bad guys well before so I’d be willing to see him work his magic.
Notable Roles:
Hellboy I & II
Sons of Anarchy
My Take:
I enjoyed the route of the character so far, so everything should pretty much remain the same.
Reason for Casting:
As Durand was initially my choice for Mongol, it was clear that I'd need to recast here. The only viable option was Perlman, he's a brilliant actor and has done well in similar roles as seen in the 'Hellboy' movies.
Notable Roles:
Gangster No.1
The Da Vinci Code
Firewall
Legion
My Take:
The Brain Interactive Construct, was originally created as a super computer by the Guardians of the Universe, after it became self-aware it though it justified that life was the source of all chaos, so life therefore was necessary to be erased. Thus Brain.I.A.C’s planet destroying adventures.
Reason for Casting:
He’s a very good actor is something of a fan favourite for the role. If given the chance I think he could do some really impressive work and wash the bad taste of ‘Priest’ out of our mouths.
Notable Roles:
Harry Potter movies
In Bruges
Clash of the Titans
My Take:
I enjoyed the route of the character so far, so everything should pretty much remain the same, though I’d expect him to be the big bad supernatural entity of the DC universe.
Reason for Casting:
He’s just a brilliant actor and another fan favourite. I think he is the only actor around that may be able to do well here.
Notable Roles:
The Green Mile
Daredevil
Sin City
My Take:
I enjoyed the route of the character so far, so everything should pretty much remain the same.
Reason for Casting:
He’s a top notch actor, great at playing intimidating and powerful characters plus he has a hell of a deep voice and is a huge comic book fan, so it’s clear from the get go that he is perfect here.
Well, that’s my take on Batman, remember to comment below!
