To hide his identity, a 27 per cent said the crime fighter should don the mask of vigilante Watchmen member Rorschach.
The same number said he needed to protect himself with Batman’s rubber suit. Staying with the Dark Knight, 29 per cent said their ideal hero would drive the Batmobile and have his utility belt, while the ability to fly like Superman also ranked high.
Comic artist Jack Lawrence said he was surprised by some of the results in the survey, which was commissioned by movie rental site Lovefilm to mark the big screen release of Captain America.
‘Of course, we all wish we had the claws of Wolverine or cruised along in the Batmobile. But I really expected Superman and Spider-Man’s powers to feature higher up the list,’ he said.
