The Web-head in the MCU

How I'd write MARVELs favourite web-slinger into the MCU.

So this is my first article and something I've been thinking about and obsessing over for a good number of weeks - The MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe)

I'm loving MARVEL creating their universe on screen and due to this its got me into the likes of Captain America, Hulk and Thor.

Yes I haven't read much of the comics (the only ones I actually buy and read are the Ultimate Spider-man)but I am (hopefully) well versed in the likes of MARVEL, especially Spider-man. Spidey is my number one hero and favourite comic book character off all time....IMO I stress to add before I get tossed out due to outcry.

So yes obviously most of my attention has been focused on him with X-Men, Fantastic 4 and Iron Man sort of in the background.

Where was I....oh yea

So loving the MCU and LOVE Spidey but my biggest disappointment is that for the current future Spidey won't be featuring within the MCU at all due to the reboot and the rights to the character owned by Sony (Gits!)

So it got me thinking, if MARVEL got the rights back how would they do it? I mean, the general public and fans would be pretty sick of seeing a third origin story within 2 decades so I decided to think of how it could be done....and potential sequels.

I wrote a short little script in the form of one of those little MARVEL extra scenes at the end of an MCU movie like Thors hammer being found at the end of Iron Man 2, Fury talking to Stark about the Avengers after Iron Man, Steve Rogers training in the gym after Captain America etc etc.

So I'm no expert with scripts so imagine this at the end of a MCU movie (Perhaps an epic Iron Man 3 or Thor 2?)

[INT. - S.H.E.I.L.D INTERIGATION ROOM - NIGHT]

[INTERIGATION ROOM is cold and metallic with two chairs on each side of a long metal table. A blue light above the table flickers. One wall has a one way view glass screen. Sitting on the chair facing the door is PETER PARKER. He's wearing civillian clothes and looking WORRIED and QUEASY. The Door opens, PETER jumps at the noise a bit and watches as NICK FURY enters, holding a FILE.]

NICK
Hello Peter

[Nick looks up at the flickering light]

NICK
That should have been fixed, sorry if it's been bothering you.

[PETER CAUTIOUSLY waves it off and stutters]

PETER
It's fine

NICK
Have you been enjoying superhero life, Peter?

[NICK SITS DOWN OPPOSITE PETER and throws down the now OPEN file. In it features a high school photo of Peter as well as several PHOTOS of SPIDER-MAN. They were PHOTOS PETER had taken himself for the DAILY BUGLE. Peter looks horrified and even more cautious at the photos]

NICK
It's alright son. We know who you are. And we know you came here to tell us yourself. But why?

[PETER looks around, looks straight at the glass pane, knowing there were half a dozen S.H.E.I.L.D agents watching and listening. He stops trembling for a moment and leans in to NICK, who in turn, also leans forward]

PETER (Whispering)
It's....well....I need help.....with Norman Osborn.

So uh first script and pretty nervous at posting it here but still fear doesn't get you anywhere and I took the plunge here so....:P
Next article I'll give my plans for a MCU Spidey Trilogy.

Right so that's my first article done so....uh till next time ;)

Could work for a sequel.... Like the way Parker is portrayed here though. But I would want to see Spidey in his own MCU, so many villians and stories to be told first before hitting the big leagues

that would work well

I agree with the others. If Marvel does get the rights back, they better keep Garfield as Spider-Man...

Yea Spidey would only have contact really with Nick Fury and maybe a few agents in the first one before coming anywhere near the likes of Cap, Stark, Hulk etc....
And I like Garfield as Parker, he just looks right but if MARVEL kept him then I'd like to see them keep Hugh Jackman as Wolverine if they got them ones back cause that's an amazing bit of casting as well.

If Marvel gets the rights back it will, unfortunately, be because Sony has run the franchise into the ground so totally that Sony would believe that it is not worth making anything in the next 5-10 years. Though Fox is on record as being willing to do direct to DVD movies just to keep the licence in their hands so we can hope that Sony isn't as evil. You're idea is good with using Fury ans S.H.I.E.L.D, but your thoughts on why he went there are a bit off and probably because you're more in tune with Ultimate Spider-Man and not with 616 as much. Spider-Man actually breaks into the helicarrier because he's looking into his parents deaths. Heck, you could actually do the spider-man origin as Richard and Mary Parker Agents of Shield and avoid another reboot.
