In the near-distant future, a number of androids are created by Dr. Takis Tipton. After his death, the androids are segregated and forced to live in a section of New York City dubbed Tipton Alley (more popularly called “Tin Pan Alley” by the hateful locals). In response, a violent revolution is led by Tipton’s original creations Alpha and Beta. Xi, one of Tipton’s last creations, will rise up to fight against both sides of the revolution in hopes of bringing about peaceful coexistence between humans and androids.
Characters:
Xi- Xi was one of the last androids to be created by Tipton and one of the few to be designed as a full human replica. After Tipton’s death, Xi was banished to Tipton Alley with all of the other androids. After the android revolution begins, Xi seeks out help from Tipton’s son Nu, Omicron, and Pi to help him end the fighting. Nu makes alterations to Xi’s body, giving him a wrist module which allows him to activate his new combat features. The alterations, when activated with the module, increase Xi’s strength, speed, and stamina, making him a super-powered android; activation is indicated by the wrist module turning green and his irises going white (the module will also show red if there is malfunction or extreme damage). This “combat mode” is usually enough, but Xi also has armor which is powered by the module and he uses the armor in more extreme situations.
Pi- Pi is an old friend of Xi’s and the last android built by Tipton. When it comes time to fight against their fellow androids, Xi finds Pi and brings her in for assistance. Pi is the primary love interest, though she is sometimes a difficulty. Pi doesn’t completely agree with the notion of humans and androids living together peacefully, mostly because she thinks it is an irrational idea. Nonetheless, she is a valued ally.
Omicron “O” - O is the comical best friend to Xi. He is always anxious to fight and gladly joins Xi in his efforts. He is special in that he was a team project between Tipton and Nu, being the first android that Nu ever assembled. O has strong affection for his cat, Katana, which he named accordingly in relation to the sword he carries with him.
Nu Tipton- Nu is the son and only “child” of Takis Tipton. Nu serves as the brains behind Xi’s efforts. It is well known, though, that Nu is an android himself. Tipton built Nu knowing that he was dying and that someone would have to be left as an heir to his invention. Nu was meant to finish his father’s work, but he refuses to preserve a legacy that has bred so much controversy.
Dr. Takis Tipton- Tipton is the father to all androids. He originally created Alpha and Beta as prototypes. His vision for the future of androids was much greater, though, than these two originals. Tipton saw androids as the next step in human evolution. Showing the prototypes at a science expo in New York City, Tipton took the ensuing military funding as a step up to his vision of the future. However, he later saw that the use of his creations as soldiers was a setback to his vision. After being diagnosed with cancer Tipton created Nu, hoping that this new child would restore his vision and bring the android race to its superiority. After finalizing work on Xi, Omicron, and Pi, Tipton left his work to his son and his creations were segregated from the human population.
Alpha and Beta- These two androids are the original prototypes created by Tipton. After Tipton’s funding was transferred to the military, these two were all but forgotten. For years they were kept in lockdown by the military, which Tipton didn’t seem to have issue with. After Tipton’s death they were thrown into segregation with the other androids. After all of the years of neglect, Alpha and Beta decide to lead their race against the humans to show their superiority.
Theta, Kappa, Epsilon, and Mu- These four are all that remains of the soldier androids. The others in the team of ten were destroyed in war. Banished to Tipton Alley after the death of their creator, these four are enlisted by Alpha and Beta to rebel against their human oppressors.
Omega- With the knowledge of their own being, Alpha and Beta build this android with the specified mission of destroying Xi. His powers equal and potentially outweigh Xi’s and he serves as a nearly indestructible opposition.
