Thor Now 1 By Aaron and Ribic
Being not much of a Marvel fanatic with Journey Into Mystery 84 being this narrator's only exposure to this titular character outside of Marvel's film franchise, his experience of Thor NOW was fundamentally different from a 2nd appearance of a Norse God battling the communist Republic of Venezuela. Three Thor’s from three different time periods fight a thinly veiled analogousness representation of contemporary Atheism, Secularism and/or Agnosticism. As a fundamentalist Thor is not amused by the declining role of religion and subsequent destruction of organized religion being taken so frivolously by those around him.

The premise of a God battling an inevitable decline of Norse (sure Aaron just Norse) religion is an academic character study, as he walks through the halls of the old Gods thus realizing if the power of older religions can fade into obscurity what would be his faith/fate.. quickly intercutted with the future GodKing's last stand in some sort of self-explanatory sequence.
But of course themes and depth is just the first act as the strength of the story will rely on it's conclusion, can Aaron bring the story around full circle and write the tightly knit ending and subsequent series as seamlessly consistant canon of Thor?
Result Intellectually Stimulating
Bought it and don't regret a thing and got it signed by Aaron and Ribic
