When news broke that Felicity Jones was casted in an undisclosed role in the Amazing Spiderman 2, people instantly thought she was playing Betty Brant, secretary of the Daily Bugle.The picture that was posted everywhere was very Betty Brant-ish. When fans started to slow down and think about it, Why would they cast her as Betty Brant and keep it a secret? Betty Brant is not a major character. Then, Felicia Hardy popped in there."Black Cat" "She could be playing the Black Cat." Yes, the Black Cat, and if true this will be her first debut in a Spiderman movie. The question is, who is Felicia Hardy aka the Black Cat?
Felicia Hardy is the daughter of a world-renowned cat burglar, Walter Hardy. After suffering a traumatic event as a college freshman, she trained herself in various fighting styles and acrobatics and, after deciding to follow in her father's footsteps, adopted her costumed identity as the Black Cat.In the Ultimate Marvel universe,she blames her father’s death on Wilson Fisk, the Kingpin. If they go the Ultimate route, they can include the Kingpin and introduce the criminal element that is so prevalent in the Spiderman books. I think that would be great and it gives Felicia Hardy/Black Cat a story and a purpose in the franchise. Will Felicia Hardy give Gwen and Mary jane problems?
In the comics, Spiderman and the Black Cat had a deep love for each other while Peter Parker was with Mary Jane. To the point that she stalked him and ultimately attacked Mary jane out of obsession and jealousy. if anything will happen in the franchise with Spiderman's 3 women, it will probably be after Gwen is gone. To set up a rivarly between MJ and FH in the following movies. Don't get it twisted, Ms. Hardy is a bad girl, and she gets what she wants. Even to the point that she got superpowers from Wilson Fisk so she can be like Spiderman. Which is a storyline I hope they portray in the future movies.
i don't know about you but Spidey is a chick magnet. And it's good to have a chick at home. And one you can swing with a night.
