WHY HAVEN'T WE SEEN CAPTAIN AMERICA FIGHT YET!?

WHY HAVEN'T WE SEEN CAPTAIN AMERICA FIGHT YET!?

We've Seen Countless Interviews, A Superbowl TV Ad, And A Full Trailer...But We Still Haven't Seen Him Throw One Punch!!!

Editorial Opinion

Way back in June 2010 director Joe Johnston in an interview promised fight scenes in the First Avenger that we've never seen before. Which would make sense because Captain America is the worlds ultimate fighting weapon, but in all the ads we've seen him shoot guns more than anything. WHY? It is important to have these incredible fist fights being that Captain America is a period movie set in the 1940's and will focus on the younger years of Steve Rogers, and his relationship with Peggy Carter, and how he becomes Captain America this is still a war story with villains, high tech weapons, and big budget scene props. Marvel has spent endless money to make this movie look right, but if it's not enough ass kicking in this movie it will be a huge let down! I want arm breaking, body slams, hay makers, and round house kicks, all courtesy of the super soldier. Even in the Batman movie...yeah he has gadgets but they still let him kick a little ass. In closing if Captain America's the perfect fighter we better see him do some fighting!!! Throwing his shield and not throwing punches won't be enough for me!

I agree maybe the fights scenes are so good they are trying to hold on to them until we see the movie at least that's what i hope.

dude, calm down.
we've seen Cap shoot at enemies, do a terrific shield bash, and yes he threw a punch that broke, let me repeat, broke through a high grade windshield designed to withstand underwater pressures.
we've seen Red Skull kick him back a few feet and Dum Dum Dugan go at HYDRA with a shotgun.

this trailer was on;y our first real taste of what to expect for this film. my hopes are high yet guarded. same for Thor. any film can fail. but i am highly anticipating this release because of what we have NOT seen.

if all i see is awesomeness, then its a win for me.

Please don't ever pass something like this as an editorial again. This article had little to no facts or good points in it, and it was purely a one paragraph complaint that could of easily been put in a comment's section.

@golden123 you didn't here JOE JOHNSTON SAY THE FIGHT SCENE'S WOULD BE GREAT! YOU DIDN'T KNOW CAPTAIN AMERICA IS THE PERFACT FIGHTER! AH THATS FACT! IF YOU CALL WHAT WE SAW IN THE TRAILER A FIGHT I HOPE YOU DON'T EVER GET IN ANY!!

@Gab: I did know Captain America was the perfect fighter, and I did know that there are supposed to be great fight scenes in this. I still don't think this was worthy enough to be an editorial considering the movie still has three months to go, and we've only seen one trailer. Most importantly, this was only one paragraph long. You could of turned this into a decent editorial by at least expanding upon what you had and thinking through your reasoning clearly. This article should be a comment in a article about the Cap movie. This shouldn't be it's own article

@golden you criticize this editorial for not having facts but aren't editorials based more on opinion than fact? Yes this was a little short but don't bash him for wanting to get his opinion out there where not as many people might have seen it.

@CommanderCool: Editorials need opinions, too, or it would be nothing but just a string of facts that would belong in the features' section. The editorial section isn't just a place where you can put put down your thoughts. It's a place where points are proven, concepts are grasped, and well thought out arguments are flared. Any average joe can jot down what he thinks in a comments section, but it shouldn't be as simple to make an editorial.

@golden123 Damn man you want me to write a book why it is important to me to see CAP FIGHT WOW! MY SHIT IS SHORT AND SWEET MAYBE WHEN SOMEONE YOU LIKE STEAL'S MY OPINION AND WRITES A 6 PAGE WRITE UP! YOU COULD UNDERSTAND IT BETTER! ALL I DID WAS ASK WHY? WE DIDN'T SEE THAT YET!! NOT SPEAKING BAD OR GOOD BUT FOR ME I NEED TO SEE HOW THEY SET UP THE FIGHT SCENE'S! IF YOU DON'T CARE ABOUT THAT PART OF THE MOVIE! THEN THATS COOL TOO!

@Gab: I'm really not trying to strike any nerves. It's just that this is too short. Either write it in a comment's section or expand upoin what you have. It doesn't need to be six pages. Four paragraphs is all that is needed.

@golden123 ok when you write your stuff make it as long as you want to but you can't tell me how to write! I have much work on this site! this is just 1 of many! I'm not mad at you! but you can't say there aren't fact in what I said! you can't say I didn't give my opinion when I did! I said all I wanted to with few words! yes I'm that GOOD :)

@Smittywtf i never said it wasn't in there, i said why havent we seen it? It would be like watching the superman trailer and not seeing superman fly!!! Or the flash without him running, or wolverine without him clawing, why wouldn't you have that in there? you know it's funny...i hear people [female dog]ing about captain america i don't like his outfit, some people hate his helmet, i love the movie so far i just want to see some kind of fight scene, being he's the WORLDS GREATEST FIGHTER!!! Punching the sub don't count, because if the fight scenes suck you all will be complaining!!! Smitty i don't know what i can't believe more, you don't know who bob marley is or the fact your still breathing!

Got to agree with you Gab.

This is something that has me concerned also.

However reviews of Thor suggest that you really don't see the great stuff in the trailers. One reviewer thought Thor looked bad from the trailers and blatantly said the trailers do not sell the movie.

So I guess Marvel studios has learned from IM2 and is keeping the good stuff under wraps for you to enjoy when actually watching the film.

Marvel did not allow Thor to not fly or hammer twirl and I don't think that they will not allow Joe Johnston to make a Captain America movie without some serious acrobatic fighting action!!!

im not concerned at all.....do you people want to know all about the movie before you even see it? if so....whats the point in watching it? There will be plenty of punching.
