In one of the most anticipated comic events of the last year, Marvel has leaked which member of The Fantastic Four will meet their fate.

In the AP story, Hickman, Marvel SVP of Publishing Tom Brevoort and CCO Joe Quesada revealed that Johnny "The Human Torch" Storm will meet his demise in the comic . Brevoort confirmed that "588 is the final issue of the 'Fantastic Four .' Beyond that, we're not ready to say exactly what we're doing. There won't be an issue 589."

Hickman also said that his story's overall direction moving forward will "converge in a new thing that will be exciting and different and yet, very familiar and very much the same."
"Our readers get heavily involved in the lives of these characters. They fight alongside them, they share their triumphs and pitfalls. They live with them and they grasp them very tightly to their breast. They take them on in a very one to one, very personal sort of way," the Hickman added.

All comic deaths have become a joke. Even if Marvel really intends on making this stick, it will not last. Specially if they are re-booting the movie franchise. Any attempt to make us care about the "death" of a comic book character meaning full is a waste of everyone's time. It has become cliche and it is a futile and pathetic ploy that no one cares for anymore.

@Marvel72.....Barry Allen was away from the scene for the longest time and Uncle Ben hasn't been seen expect in alternate universes.

I just seen Linkara's video on Cry for Justice 5-7 and how Lian Harper's death was an insult and totally unnecessary death in comic books(SHE WAS A CHILD!!! WHAT GIVES YOU THE RIGHT TO KILL HER), he finds people joking about death in comics need to grow up, not all people in comics come back to life, what about all the lost lives of the average citizen, do they get a second chance? or the fan favorites that never comeback AT ALL. Most fans joke that oh give them a while, they will be back.....not always the case....Bucky Barnes, Jason Todd, Barry Allen, and a few others took YEARS before they made a comeback, for better or worse. Writers need to step up and not make death a cheap plot tool to progress a story line to more or less sell the title. So please writer's, unless the story needs it badly where you think having the loss of a character will make an impact to not only the title, but the comic universe itself. Once Superman died and came back, everyone else could not pale in comparison, he got on the news and made headlines......when have we seen that last near that level of magnitude? Johnny will most likely return after the events of Fear Itself where I'm sure his death will be a key component for the Fantastic Family for said event.

i knew it. it was him since it makes for a better story the youngest to die makes the other more protective in there work as superhero and there life can change. then comes revenge by Susan, thing becomes angry cause he lost one of his best friend and then he will remember everything johnny have done to him, and then reed will start blaming himself and try to become a better leader.

Hope this one stays dead. Not just 'cause he's the most annoying of the FF, but because Marvel needs to get on top of things with this death thing.... always bringing them back to life...

Reed's would be to predictable,

Susan is too hot,

Ben's is more predictable then Reeds'

So that leaves Johnny storm, the nice nuetral between "Oh yeah, he'll die for sure" and "Them? Why would they be killed off? who cares?"
