FANTASTIC FOUR Reboot To Begin Shooting This March?

FANTASTIC FOUR Reboot To Begin Shooting This March?

After a couple of false starts and a sudden surge in casting rumors, is the reboot finally gearing up to start shooting? The clock is ticking and Marvel Studios is certainly checking their watch.

Fantastic Four Fox Reboot cast

According to ComingSoon.net, Fox's Fantastic Four reboot will begin filming in Baton Rouge this March. Originally, the film was scheduled to begin shooting this past June in Vancouver. Recently, the film had its release date pushed back to June 19th, 2015 from its original release of March 6, 2015. There's quite a bit of speculation that the push was to accommodate Michael B. Jordan's filming schedule. It's said that he's director Josh Trank's only choice for the Johnny Storm aka Human Torch. Miles Teller is said to be the frontrunner for Reed Richards aka Mr. Fantastic. There have been quite a few young actresses said to be in the mix for Susan Storm aka Invisible Woman. One role that's had very little chatter is that of Ben Grimm aka The Thing. There hasn't been a single name associated with the role.

Given the age group of the actors being rumored for the roles in Trank's film, expect the reboot to take it's cues from the Ultimate Comics version of the FF. That makes sense actually as the series kicked off under the pen of Mark Millar (and Brian Michael Bendis) who was recently hired as a Creative Consultant at 20th Century Fox.

Matthew Vaughn is also serving as a producer on the film. Trank has worked on the script along with Zack Stentz (Thor), Ashley Miller (X-Men: First Class), Jeremy Slater, Seth Grahame-Smith ( Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter) and T.S. Nowlin. The latest draft was written by Simon Kinberg (X-Men: Days of Future Past). It's been reported that Kinberg made significant overhauls to the previous iterations of the script.

Honestly It would suck if Marvel had all the rights back to mutants, spidey, and FF. If they did then kiss the chances of seeing a Black Panther or Ms Marvel movie in this decade goodbye. The only problem is Fox's track record w/ honoring the source material. I'm hoping the other companies do their movies justice. I wish Fox would just reboot the X-universe.

I've seen every single CBM ever made and all that the modern ones released as the cinema...(Christ I even watched Constantine...)

It would be sweet if Marvel Studios had the rights to Galactus and the Silver Surfer though

If Marvel and Fox worked out a deal...wonder what Galactus would have done in MCU?

Well, I'd rather have Fox make this. I want Marvel to focus on the kinds of properties they are now. Plus, the creative team on this film (Trank/Vaughn/Millar) is awesome. I think this is going to end up awesome.

I'd honestly be surprised if this film sucked with so much talent behind it. I forgot Kinberg was involved as well.

so basically 8 months before they're supposed to revert to marvel. what would it take to pospone it indefinitely?

Did I beat the fan hate for this movie... nope. Fan boys hate movies they know absolutely nothing about.
Hey band wagon fan boy, who's starring in this movie (somebody who's signed on, not a rumor)?
What's the budget?
What's the story, classic, ultimate or something brand new?
Until any of that is answered, Fan boys stop b*tchin and moani. But then again B*tches gon moan.

All of you complaining about it not being at Marvel Studios are the whiniest little shits. I have loved every single MCU film; I have no bias here. All I want is a good movie, and if Trank and Fox can gives us that, that's all that should matter. Get over yourselves.

Yeah they are not going to let this little cash cow go back to Marvel anytime soon!

Could not care less, it's going to suck anyway. if they are changing the race of characters established decades ago, what else are they willing to do. If you wanted a racially diverse cast put in a different character. You might as well cast Wesley Snipes to play Wolverine or Chris Rock as Daredevil...

LOL it must suck for Marvel to see X Men, Spiderman, F4 with other studios because they were so hard up for cash back in the day!

Those studios will milk those cows dry, and the sad thing is these studios will not want to work with Marvel Studios for any crossovers.

Not convenient but necessary if Fox want to hold on to those rights. They'd be fools not to. I wish marvel would get The 4 back though. ALL their properties really.

CGI or not, Ben is gonna need an actor to portray him at the start.

This film has had so many problems already. Which isn't exactly putting faith into the audience. They should give up.

LOL yeah all the die hard Marvelites call out T Howard as a sore loser, but yet we have to call the Whambulance for them over F4, X Men, and Spidey!

Michael B. Jordan is one of the best young actors out there, he's too good for this role.

I don't agree with them changing the race of the character, I think there's some already great black characters that need attention as it is. It feels more like a ploy to make Fox seem "different" and more like a publicity stunt than an anything else.

i don't get why people want a "thing costume" instead of a 2014 CGI thing ??? really i don't get it. Hey, let's have a Hulk costume in Avengers 2... costumes look so much better..haha

Hopefully, they come so close to the revert date, they appeal to Marvel and give them Silver Surfer and Galctus back in exchange for another two months to get things rolling.

Dr. Doom won't go back, but maybe the likes of Annihilus, Silver Surfer and Galactus because Fox probably can't be arsed with the cosmic stuff, seeing as it'd be useless with most of the essential characters already being at Marvel Studios.
