Michael B. Jordan Reveals He Was Up For Harry Osborn And Falcon Roles

Amid rumors that he'll be portraying the Human Torch in Josh Trank's "Fantastic Four" actor Michael B. Jordan reveals that he read for the role of Harry Osborn in "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" and Falcon in "Captain America: The Winter Soldier."

Michael B. Jordan still refuses to confirm or deny persistent chatter that he'll be playing the Human Torch in Josh Trank's "Fantastic Four" reboot. However, in a recent interview with The Daily Beast, Jordan says that he was up for the role of Harry Osborn in Marc Webb's sequel to "The Amazing Spider-Man," a role that went to his "Chronicle" co-star Dane DeHaan. He also confirms that he read for the role of Sam "Falcon" Wilson in "Captain America: The Winter Soldier, " a role that went to Anthony Mackie. What that should tell you is that the talented young actor is definitely gunning for a comic book movie role and that he most likely IS Johnny Storm. It would be a racial change for the fiery Fantastic Four member, one that's led to a lot of discussion around these parts. Jordan is aware of the controversy and comments, "There just aren’t that many," in terms of roles for black actors. He continued, "With superheroes, a lot of those comics were created before the 1960s, so they weren’t going to have a black man save America. So I think it’s more of a continuity thing now. With more generic superheroes, why can’t you have a black, Asian, Hispanic actor play the role? Hopefully, in my lifetime, we’ll see more black superheroes."

I don't think it's up to Fox to cast him Its all Josh Trank doing the buisness. Michael said that he and Josh had been having dinner and talking about the role and the movie, and he and Josh are great friends so I'm pretty sure he has the part.

If anything it just shows there needs to be more black super-heroes. But I still can't see this guy as Johnny Storm, and definitely not Harry Osborn. Come on Marvel hurry up with The Black Panther.

Even tough I don't like changing the race of a hero, he makes a valid point about most heroes being created in the 60's.

So that's why Andrew Garfield likes him.

Well if Woodley is not back for Mary Jane, Mary Jane is available Michael and your name has been attached to it.

I could see both him and Chadwick Boseman as T'Challa/Black Panther. I really hope Marvel does go after one of them for the character, maybe it'll also stop the controversy over Michael B. Jordan possibly playing The Human Torch

If he was cast as Harry, then Norman would have to be black too.

Black Goblin anyone?

Why not cast a white actor as Falcon?

I'd be fine with a black Harry and Norman. There's nothing about the characters that would really be lost with the change.

Keep white actors playing white characters and black actors playing black characters. I'm black and do NOT want to see a black Torch, a Chinese Panther, a Brazilian Batman (although there actually is a real life one), or penguin playing Rocket Raccoon. Tell em Paul:

If Marvel doesn't consider white actors for Black Panther then they're racist.

No, no, no. No Harry Osborn, no Johnny Storm and no Falcon. If you want to change D characters to whatever I have no problem with that. Plus I like Mackie better as Falcon. This guy looks to much like a kid in my view.

They have got to stop with this race changing shit. And No that doesn't mean I am [frick]ing racist. It means I want the characters to follow the source material.
