You may have seen this already, but if not, prepare yourself for the cringe!
With Hugh Jackman returning to the role of Wolverine for Deadpool 3 (and beyond, if recent rumors are to be believed), an old deleted scene from 2005's Fantastic Four featuring the actor's first cameo (kinda) as the iconic mutant in another Marvel Comics property has resurfaced online.
In the theatrical version, Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic (Ioan Gruffudd) simply makes his chin look a bit stronger when speaking to Sue Storm (Jessica Alba) about the type of man she wants him to be, but the original plan was for Reed to use his stretchy abilities(?) to morph his face into Jackman's take on Logan.
It's... awful, on several levels, but we're sure the VFX would have looked at least a little better if they actually left the scene in the movie.
There are rumors (though we wouldn't put too much stock in them just yet) that Gruffudd and Alba along with fellow FF cast-mates Chris Evans and Michael Chiklis are set to return as Marvel's First Family for a cameo in Deadpool 3, so we may get to see Jackman interact with this original big-screen take on the team.
If not, we will more than likely see Wolvie alongside the MCU's new incarnation of the Fantastic Four (whoever they happen to be) in Avengers: Secret Wars.
"Scientist Reed Richards (Ioan Gruffudd) persuades his arrogant former classmate, Victor von Doom (Julian McMahon), to fund his experiments with cosmic energy. On von Doom's space station, the crew -- including astronaut Ben Grimm (Michael Chiklis), researcher Sue Storm (Jessica Alba) and pilot Johnny Storm (Chris Evans) -- are exposed to a mysterious cosmic storm that bestows super powers upon them. As they cope with their transformations, von Doom vows his revenge."
