Reed Richards Morphs Into Hugh Jackman's Wolverine In Deleted Scene From 2005's FANTASTIC FOUR

An old deleted scene from 2005's Fantastic Four has resurfaced online, and it sees Mr. Fantastic (Ioan Gruffudd) morph his face to resemble Hugh Jackman's Wolverine...

You may have seen this already, but if not, prepare yourself for the cringe!

With Hugh Jackman returning to the role of Wolverine for Deadpool 3 (and beyond, if recent rumors are to be believed), an old deleted scene from 2005's Fantastic Four featuring the actor's first cameo (kinda) as the iconic mutant in another Marvel Comics property has resurfaced online.

In the theatrical version, Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic (Ioan Gruffudd) simply makes his chin look a bit stronger when speaking to Sue Storm (Jessica Alba) about the type of man she wants him to be, but the original plan was for Reed to use his stretchy abilities(?) to morph his face into Jackman's take on Logan.

It's... awful, on several levels, but we're sure the VFX would have looked at least a little better if they actually left the scene in the movie.

There are rumors (though we wouldn't put too much stock in them just yet) that Gruffudd and Alba along with fellow FF cast-mates Chris Evans and Michael Chiklis are set to return as Marvel's First Family for a cameo in Deadpool 3, so we may get to see Jackman interact with this original big-screen take on the team.

If not, we will more than likely see Wolvie alongside the MCU's new incarnation of the Fantastic Four (whoever they happen to be) in Avengers: Secret Wars.

"Scientist Reed Richards (Ioan Gruffudd) persuades his arrogant former classmate, Victor von Doom (Julian McMahon), to fund his experiments with cosmic energy. On von Doom's space station, the crew -- including astronaut Ben Grimm (Michael Chiklis), researcher Sue Storm (Jessica Alba) and pilot Johnny Storm (Chris Evans) -- are exposed to a mysterious cosmic storm that bestows super powers upon them. As they cope with their transformations, von Doom vows his revenge."

I’m starting to feel sorry for journalists with this strike going on cause now they’re basically grave robbing old stories and trying to post them as new.

“Journalists”

@AnthonyVonGeek - Don't feel bad, they could make articles on anniversary dates for movie releases and various things. Instead we get jurassic old info and baseless rumors ad nauseum

@bobevanz - And don't forget LISTS.
There's always top tens and endless lists to be copied and pasted from past articles. 🤪

@regularmovieguy - My thoughts exactly.

I've seen better journalism in the Riverfield Elementary Gazette.

@AnthonyVonGeek - he literally insulted people in his last article for not liking what the snow white star had to say about the old movie. Don't feel sorry for mark.

😂😂😂 I guess they had a cinematic universe planned

@MyCoolYoung - they did.

Hugh Jackman was supposed to cameo in Spider-Man 1 in a scene bumping into Peter; then Thomas Jane was planned to appear in Spider-Man 2.
All these fell through though as Sony/FOX were too scared of the risks invovled in starting a connected universe.

Tbh I'm still hoping for a "Avengers 2000" movie as some sort of What-If nostalgia bait movie starring Maguire, Jackman, Gruffud, Alba, Jannsen, Stewart, Affleck, Garner and Bana.

@Blergh - What? I never heard of any of this. All I ever remember was a gag reel of Spidey showing up in a scene from X-Men.

Bunch of stories like these out there,
my personal conspiracy theory is that some producers were pushing for a shared universe even back then (perhaps including Feige) while being overturned by more powerful producers that were afraid of the risks (and having to work with multiple other studios).

In my head canon there are a few canon universes:

2000 Universe:
Spider-Man 1-3; Fatastic Four 1-2; X-Men Saga; Hulk; The Punisher; Daredevil/Elektra; Ghost Rider 1-2

Ultimate Universe:
The Amazing Spider-Man 1-2; Venom 1-2; Morbius/Kraven/Madame Web; Blade 1-3; Punisher: War Zone; Fant4stic

Silver Age Universe:
Howard the Duck; Captain America '90; The Punisher '89; Nick Fury: Agent of SHIELD; Fantastic Four '94; Man-Thing

Golden Age Universe:
Spider-Man '77; Doctor Strange '78; Hulk '77; Reb Brown Captain America movies

@Blergh - that, and the original intention for the mcu was to bring in both the fox x men movies and Tobey spiderman into one universe. Nick fury was even gonna reference mutants and spiderman when talking to iron man.

@Blergh - I'm happy with what we ultimately got with the Avengers 2012, but damn your 2000 Universe would have been cool.

@DarthOmega - I don't think it was released. I know they filmed it, but chose not to include it because they didn't make a deal with fox and Sony yet.

@Blergh - legit never knew this and I'd like to see that. That's what What if? Should be about in my opinion and I love that head Canon of universes too
