A while back Saoirse Ronan confirmed that the rumors of her auditioning for J.J. Abrams'
Star Wars: Episode VII were indeed true -- but she went on to say that "everyone" had gone in and read for a role, so it really wasn't that big a deal. Well it seems even that slight admittance may have been enough to hurt her chances, as she reveals to The Playlist.
"I don't have Star Wars. I don't have the role," said Ronan, apparently sounding quite disappointed.
"I just shouldn't have said anything. I just auditioned for it, like everyone else did." Sounds like Ronan learned the hard way that when an actor discusses a role he/she might be up for in too much detail, or -- worse still -- confirms a potential casting rumor, they rarely (if ever) get the role. There's another big movie we're unlikely to see Ronan appear in, but not because she didn't land the part -- it seems that talk of her being up for Sue Storm in Josh Trank's
Fantastic Four reboot was way premature.
"I only heard that rumor. I'm not signed up for Fantastic Four." Although she also says she'd be up for taking on a role in a movie of that scale,
"if it was the right thing." Of course she might just have learned her lesson after missing out on
Star Wars and be playing it safe here! Guess we'll find out soon enough. There's much more at the link below.
